Either go before lunch time when they first open or go right before dinner which is prior to 5pm. Simply because the chicken is the freshest, not soaked in grease, and has not been sitting there longer than they want to admit to you. Always have great specials every day of the week like two piece dark and a fry for 4 bucks. Mashed potatoes w/brown gravy, corn fritters, and stuffed jalapenos all great. Located right off the highway so be careful for peak time of traffic trying to stop and pick up dinner before you head home… will definitely be stuck for an hour.

The only people who don’t eat fried chicken are Yankees, foreigners, and vegetarians. And I’m not even sure about the vegetarians. I suspect they sneak it in from time to time. Is Williams usually found in the best neighborhoods? Of course not – the Arlington location is down past the courts toward 360 and the«high crime area» signs. Does Williams have good customer service? Not when I’ve been there. But maybe I give off the wrong vibe. Can you say anything great about their rolls or fries? I suppose only if you’re into things that are lukewarm and bland. But none of this matters. If you are looking for the best fried chicken, Williams wins. I know many fried chicken eaters who will back me up on this. If you are looking for a giant bucket of fresh fried chicken or strips that are battered and not frozen, you need to grab your mace and an intimidating looking friend and seek out the nearest Williams. When you show up at your pot luck or office party or family reunion, people will thank you. If you’re looking for compliments on your cooking skills, you can even ditch the container and put your chicken on a platter of your own so your friends will think you have some ancient old greasy recipe passed down from a long lost relative.
