I went with family a while ago. We loved the sides but the steak was terrible. I ordered a Top Sirloin Steak, expecting it to be better than Salt grass because of the price. While I didn’t pay for it, I felt bad that a family member did. The steak was 80% fat. I could only get a few small cuts of meat before it’s was all fatty. And it was bland too. It tasted better after adding some pepper to it. I don’t know if it was a mistake because my other family members enjoyed their steaks. But I won’t be back anytime soon unless it’s for a special occasion.

Great service and fantastic food. I had the Prime Rib with garlic mashed potatoes. My wife had a sirloin and baked potato. Both were very flavorful and cooked correctly. The waiter was courteous and very attentive to us. The reason I only gave 4 stars? Though we were WELL dressed, the table next to us was a loud obnoxious group of men. Also walking in was a sweet looking family but we’re wearing shorts and t-shirts. This restaurant has a far more classy feel and price to it. It’s a shame that it can’t require a dress code.

Only OK last night. I eat here a few times a year and it’s usually 4 – 5 Stars but last night was a little disappointing. The service was great as usual and the Baked Brie was excellent. Loved both the Pesto and the Spicy jelly that accompanied it. The Prime rib was very fatty and not that favorable. The twice baked potato was tasty but quite dry. The entrée was just not up to their usual high standards. Won’t keep me from going back but another meal like that sure will. One more thing — I don’t think I got the Robert Mondavi wine I actually ordered by the glass. I’m very familiar with that Cab and it tasted«off». I’m pretty easy to please and not often critical but The Keg missed the mark this time.

The choice to dine here was spare of the moment and it was my first time. The food was great I had a top sirloin med rare with a Chicago chare. Date had a 16oz ribeye that was quite appetizing as well. My only complaint is my steak came med well/well. The second attempt was spot on and even though I was very understanding the manager Candice still came and introduced herself and apologized which says a lot about the customer satisfaction attitude here. Our server Addily(I’m sure that’s spelled incorrect) was very attentive and quite pleasant. We will definitely come here again.

I had one of the best meals in the past week. I ordered off their Keg Classic menu. My husband had the 10 oz prime rib with Garlic Mash Potato, sauté mushrooms and mixed veggies. Also had fresh made horseradish sauce which was superb. I ordered the 7 oz filet with double grilled veggies and saluted mushrooms. We had no complaints! Brian was our server and offered us excellent service. Lastly we ordered the carrot cake with two scoops of ice cream. OMG who can go wrong with that. We had a great fable next to the fire place. They also offer outside dining and a nice bar area. Update 2÷1÷16 Came again and I tried something different. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Taco’s. My gosh they are perfect if your wanting to eat light the. Please order this. It is light and cool with the slaw on the bottom. Update 4÷14÷16 I really like this place, I have not had a bad experience. We had a new server and he was great, I don’t think he would even need to say anything because you really couldn’t even tell. He was extremely helpful. My husband stuck to the prime rib with the garlic mash potatoes and a Caesar salad. He said it was great no issues. Our friends ordered the prime rib as well and the other ordered the sirloin special and man that looked like it could feed a few people. He didn’t like mushrooms or asparagus so he gave that to us. OMG the mushrooms in the sauce he had was SOOOO good. I got the Thai Chicken with rice. Now the meal was good but I don’t think the sauce was a Thai sauce. It reminded me of a spicy sweet and sour sauce, it wasn’t really spicy. Still no complaints it was still good and I tried to eat every bit.

My wife and I stopped in last night for our wedding anniversary. This was our first time there. We both had the prime rib off of the Keg Classic menu, so it came with salad, side and sauté mushrooms. My wife had the garlic mashed potatoes and I had the asparagus. It was the best prime rib I have ever had, and I have eaten Prime Rib around the world. The sides were very good, and the horseradish was excellent. The setting was elegant, the service impeccable, and the food was on par with the best anywhere. Daniel was our server. he was attentive without being intrusive. That is what I consider a very professional server. Pricey but worth every penny. It will not be my last time there.

Stopped by The Keg last night for my last birthday meal of the month. I don’t normally come here but once a year when I use my $ 25 birthday coupon. We arrived at 6:30 and were promptly seated. A waiter came and checked on us and brought us water until our waitress came. It did not take long for us to order, however it was a good 30 minutes before our entrees arrived. Now I’m not an expert on pecan crusted salmon, but I don’t think the pecans are supposed to be burnt, which they were. Fortunately, I was able to scrape them off but a few landed in my mashed potatoes and it wasn’t exactly yummy eating burnt pecans and mashed potatoes. My mixed veggies were scarce and bland, but a hearty sprinkle of salt made them palatable. My hubby got the prime rib, which was cooked exactly as he ordered and he enjoyed it. We ended the meal with a margarita key lime pie, which was magnificent and the highlight of the meal. I’m giving this place two stars because hubby liked his meal. I however did not, and wasn’t pleased that I was charged $ 3 for the mixed vegetables when I asked if I could substitute them for the brussell sprouts since they were made with bacon and I don’t eat bacon. I’ll be back again next year when I get my coupon!

Bar Scene was cool minus the lack of attention from the server. After laughing until our stomachs were in pain at the nearby Improv, we walked into this place for a drink to reenact some of the funnies we had just witnessed. We were all seated separately at the bar(3 couples) until we played rearrange the musical chairs and we see ourselves up together at the end of the bar closer to the door. The men supper cognac while the ladies toyed with martinis. The television had the men attention as they discussed football and the ladies chatted about family and exercise. The whole scene was great and after a hour of sipping we ended up ordering some cheesy bread. When I tell you that bread was AWESOME I mean it. So AWESOME that we ended up ordering it three times YES3 times(insert shameful face here). Our waitress/bartender was not very interested at the beginning which is why the stars were removed but after hearing us having a great time and noticing us leaving money on the counter to top per drink she began to engage. It shouldn’t took that to have her interact. I will try this place again when back in TX a the menu looked appetizing and the hubby and were attracted to the outdoor fire pit and seating area.

I don’t know why but I was expecting a sports bar place with tvs and games playing. Boy was I wrong. This is a very nice sit down steakhouse. The place does not have a specific dress code but I’m not sure if they would let you in wearing basketball shorts and a cut off but jeans and a nice shirt are acceptable. We started with drinks and they had pretty cheap to super expensive for wine and of course you could buy them by the glass or bottle. They also had a full bar so you can get whatever your taste buds are feeling that night. The menu was strictly steak, fish and ribs. I ordered the prime rib which is very unusual for me. They do recommend it being served rare to medium rare so if you aren’t a fan of that much redness I wouldn’t suggest this for you. With thhe prime rib I ordered French onion soup(I can’t resist it) and mashed potatoes. The French onion soup was a bowl of hot cheesy goodness and the mashed potatoes were probably the best I’ve had in a long time. My hubby ordered the ribs with a salad, coleslaw and veggies. He loved the ribs. He said they were juicy and tender to the point they were falling off the bone. We will certainly come back. My only complaint is that they did not have macaroni and cheese on the menu.

Perfect dinner for a perfect evening. Our waiter started us off with Troublemaker wine. Escargot and I went with the spinach salad– strawberries cranberries candied pecans & goat cheese tossed in a light vinaigrette dressing! The Sirloin Oscar was outstanding and an excellent value which included grilled & sautéed mushrooms and fresh green beans. Jerry Heathman had the filet which never disappoints. Finished it off with the Billy Miner pie! Our server Steven was outstanding! Would love to see a gift card from there get into the Auction at Fall Festival at .

Before I say anything about the food let me talk about our server. We were told while being seated that we were going to have the best server they had waiting us. Well she was right. Great service, very informative about the menu, recommendations were spot on. She made whole experience worth it. So if you come in ask for Kristin You won’t be disappointed. Ok now the food. We ordered calamari for appetizer. Was good not great, a little chewy. Ordered blackened 20oz rib steak and 1lb lobster tail. Steak was great. Love blackened steaks!!! Lobster tail was good and fresh. Enjoyed both!!! Looks like a great date place.

Wow rough day today, and it’s been capped off with a fat bill and painful stomach ache after an early dinner at Keg! The 2 stars are for the perfectly cooked(to temp) steak, not for the taste of anything because it was SOBLAND. I asked for the delicious sounding brussel sprouts listed with on of the fish dishes, and at first sight I was excited — that immediately went away after the first bite. Paired with sour glasses of some Cab this meal reminded me of a bad airplane meal in fancier surroundings. I’m not kidding or being over critical — try it and you’ll see.

I had their grilled shrimp. It was cool, nothing over the top. I enjoyed their twice baked potato, I forgot how good they were. Also, their asparagus was pretty good. Could’ve used salt & pepper but it was nowhere to be found but the butter was a nice addition. This has been my second visit. My first time around, I had a steak. I do recall it being good. It was YEARS ago, around the time they first opened. Highly recommend if you’re going on a date or doing some type of celebration.

More on the side of a high end Steakhouse than a casual roadhouse. Their calamari is amazing! The sauce that goes with it to dip is what makes it. It was so good I completely tore it up and didn’t even have time to take a picture of it. Environment was very dim and romantic, great for date night. Now to talk meat… pricey but expected for a high end steak restaurant, so in that regard it was a good price for what you get. Prime rib came with a double baked potato that was really yummy and I love my meats rare but this was so rare that I felt like the spirit of the cow was still in there. So the moral of the story is… don’t get surprised when you order rare and your prime comes out looking like it does. Minor mistake on my part. None the less I ate the whole thing, it was a really really good cut of prime rib.(will definitely order medium rare next time) Ended with a passion fruit crème brûlée sampler thing and it was amazing. 10⁄10 with perfect crunch layer and creamy bottom. ***I went in without a reservation and got seated without a problem, but was not rush hour so I do recommend setting a reservation ahead of time.

I was really excited to come here. I love steak. I love steakhouses like this. Dark, moody, a little upscale. Big steaks, salty and buttery baked potatoes, seafood, perfect grill marks, classic salads, shrimp cocktail, martinis, fragrant red wines. It’s my favorite kind of dinner, especially on a cold wintry night. Unfortunately, I was a little underwhelmed by The Keg. It just wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for, especially when the prices are high enough to warrant the steakhouse experience I expect. I checked their website to make sure showing up at 9:45 after an event wasn’t too late, and the website said that they were open until 11PM on Thursday nights. I was not aware, however, that at 10PM they switch to a bar menu. As soon as we sat down, our waiter(who seemed slightly irritated by our arrival) said we had 5 minutes to order before the kitchen stopped serving dinner. We were able to decide quickly and everything was fine, but I felt rushed and like I was being a rude patron for showing up kind of late. Our Caesar salad was good, but had a little too much dressing on it for my liking. We also shared the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer, and they were lovely. You get 6 good-sized bites for about $ 9 which isn’t bad at all. I do think the plating here leaves something to be desired. Lots of empty white space on the plates and not a ton of color, so it doesn’t automatically look super appealing. Plus I love to take pictures of my food(as you Unilocalers know), and I was disappointed in my shots! For the main course, I ordered an 8 oz sirloin rare, which came out medium rare(in my opinion). It tasted wonderful, however, so I didn’t feel the need to complain — especially since I knew they were definitely done serving dinner at that point! The steak was nicely charred on the outside and had a lot of flavor. I wasn’t exactly impresses by my baked potato because it was awfully small for a steakhouse. I’ve come to expect a bigger, more robust potato with a bit of olive oil and salt on the skin — that would have been perfect! I also thought the side veggies were bland. The red bell pepper and green beans gave the plate some lovely and much needed color, and they were cooked nicely(still fresh and crisp with a nice crunch), but it truly seemed like there was no seasoning on them at all. Gotta at least have some salt! We took our leftover steak home(we’ll turn it into tacos), and for the most part enjoyed our meals. Our waiter got way more friendly as the evening went on and was really helpful and sweet with recommendations, checking up on us, and making sure everything I ate was gluten free. You’re going to pay $ 22-$ 30 for your steaks here at The Keg, so just expect that. I did think that the wine was nicely priced, for sure. Adam got a 9 oz pour of shiraz for $ 9, and I had 9 ounces of a zinfandel for $ 12.50. 9 oz is A LOT of wine, so I think the prices were a great deal!
