Thai Basil Leaf

I’ve always seen this place as I drive by to campus (It’s fairly close to UTA). Pad kee mao aka the drunken noodles are about the best I’ve ever had, and 4 stars is hard to come by for me! Got it in the 4^th spiciest flavor (out of 5) and it was pretty flavorful! Their dumplings as well as the crab rangoon appetizers are divine. The only minor complaint I would have is the price, but the food makes up for it! Definitely should try the place if you’re in the area!

Visited this restaurant by a reference from a friend. Was VERY surprised by the location and area but the food and service was wonderful. Will definitely go back and recommend to all my family and friends

First time diners with a two year old toddler.
Ordered: pad see ew, glass noodle salad (level 2 spicy), and red curry (level 1 spicy)
Everything we ordered was awesome! This family owned and run restaurant is great! They allow you to pick the level of spicy. We usually can handle pretty spicy but even the level 2 was cutting it close! The pad see ew was the best I’ve ever eaten! Fresh rice noodles with ample veggies and bean sprouts. Red curry was served with one serving of rice and we had to order another serving because there was extra sauce! We even have enough for another serving at home! The glass noodle salad was filled with lots of noodles and about 6 – 8 whole shrimp. We will definitely be back! Yum!

Good food! Went there for lunch. Don’t call me a pig but I ordered two entries of the lunch menu. Don’t worry took a lot home. First, the lunch entrees are $ 7. Great! Secondly I ordered the pad see ew and the pad Thai — level 4 heat. Their heat level may be a little hotter than most. It was good and spicy. Glad I didn’t order a 5 which I usually do at other places. (By the way, each plate came with a small veggie spring roll.)
Fresh and hot, nice crisp vegetables, great taste.
My friend ordered crab rolls which were like crab rangoons. She enjoyed them.
FREE SOUP WITH LUNCH; however I didn’t like it. (I can eat almost anything.) Almost made me sick. Very creamy and SOUR. My friend thought maybe it was bad. Try it for yourself.

The place is a small hole in the wall, but don’t let that deter you. The staff is super friendly, it appears family owned. The place is kept clean. But most of all, the food is delicious!!! I ordered the tom yum soup and the pineapple fried rice. I wish I could eat this every night, it was absolutely delicious. They have a certificate for «best pad Thai», so I would like to order that next time. Other than that, I totally recommend this place!!!

My first time here in a couple of years and all I can say is why did I wait so long. New owners, some ambiance, and much better food than before. The generously portioned green curry with shrimp (I ordered it #3 spicy on a 1 – 5 scale) was perfectly spicy: hot but allowed the basil and component flavors to shine through. The desert menu had plenty of offerings: the black rice pudding — something reminiscent of che foe those of you that like Vietnamese deserts– was excellent but the hefty portion is better shared. The Thai iced tea was perfectly sweet and exhibited layers of flavor rather than the sickly sweet stuff on offer at most restaurants. I can’t wait to return so I can try a noodle dish like pad keep mao!

this place is legit thai food and i cant believe how close it is to my work. from what ive read, recently remodeled? with UTA nearby tons of young people omg im old, young people are always nearby walking around just hanging out in their pj’s outside lol.
inside just black walls and seating no big just here to eat haha.
i had the pad ke mao, drunken noodles with spice level 5 cause well im laos and thai so im use to the spices, plus i love crying while i eat hahaha. the pad ke mao was prob some of the best ive ever had and the spice level was spot on. the only bad part i didnt like was the beef it came with, maybe ill get chicken next time. each order comes with a little bowl of curry and it really hit the spot, was your usual soup they just hand out it was great and very rich.
this place is a tad high on the price but thats okay it left me wanting to come back literally the next day for lunch and then the next haha.

I haven’t been back here since 6 years ago and it seems like they change owners.
Food was just average for me. I had ordered Pad se ew which was too salty. The only things that were good was the baked fish filet and tom yum soup. Compared to other Thai places around Arlington and Grand Prairie the prices here are a little bit cheaper and the portion are somewhat bigger. This place wouldn’t be my first choice to get Thai food just because the food didn’t leave me wanting to come back.

I placed an order to-​go for thai tea, beef pad thai (level 5 spice) and basil chicken fried rice (level 3 spice). The pad thai was not spicy in the least bit, but had a nice flavor that only pad thai should have. I killed it. The thai tea was ridiculously sweet. I’m talking borderline diabetic sweet. The fried rice? I got none. I ended up getting the healthy version: just basil chicken, also not spicy. We were way too hungry to take it back to get it fixed. This is basically the only thai place worth a damn in this area, so obviously we’ll be back for dine-​in instead.

Authentic Thai food in Arlington! I went with my mom and sister on Saturday for lunch and we got the curry puffs to start. SOOOO GOOOOOOD! Best curry puffs I’ve ever had. We also ordered larb chicken, pad see eew with pork, lad na with pork and crab fried rice. The crab fried rice smelled and tasted like the ones I’ve had in Thailand. The pad see ew, larb and lad na were good too, but the two stand out dishes were the crab fried rice and curry puffs.
The place wasn’t very busy when we went. They had only one other table besides us. The restaurant is located across the street from Arlington high school where Bethanys is. Service was great. The waiter took our orders and the food came out pretty quick. I will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes like the papaya salad!

–Pad Thai Beef Level 1 — sweet and savory flavor, generous size portion
–Pad Kee Mao Level 1 — wish this dish had more flat noodles, I felt the spicy level on this was higher than the pad thai
–Green Curry Level 4 — this thing goes in as fire and comes out as fire. You’ve been warned! Aside from that, good rich curry flavor
–Massaman Short Rib Level 1 — the ribeye could be cooked longer, the meat didn’t fall off the bone and it was too chewy.
–Mango Sticky Rice — a must for sweet tooths however you don’t get much glutinous rice

I went in for lunch, not really sure what to expect, being that I’ve never had Thai food. Man, I’m impressed! I had the Thai Fried Rice & it was delicious!
The service was exceptional. The man & woman working in the front were so friendly and quick to recommend me dishes which was very helpful.
I only wish I lived closer to Arlington so I could eat here more often!

This place has the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten. The pad Thai has a nice flavor to it and it tastes very fresh. It’s the best pad Thai I’ve had anywhere.
I also ordered the crab cream cheese rolls which were also very very good. This is my third time eating here and I will continue to return. The prices are very reasonable too. I highly recommend eating here.

I’m so happy that I was able to find such an awesome Thai place in town here in Arlington. I went with a group of co-​workers and was able to try several different dishes they serve. Massaman curry, pad kee mao, yellow curry fried rice, and pad thai. All were superb.
They have a really affordable lunch menu with about 8 different options.
The inside is nothing special, they don’t seem to focus on the décor, but they definitely have the food down.
I will definitely be returning and probably a lot!

Affordable, covenient, absolutely delicious. Even if by chance i could make this stuff at home id come back here. I’ve been here many times now and it has turned into one of my favorites. The lady that owns the place is super nice I love her sweet attitude every time I come in. Music is so matching and relaxing with the cool sweet casual feel. Not too fancy not too casual. I love it. I feel so tranquil every time I come. Tofu pad thai with a spice level of 2 is my favorite.
If you are in Arlington and crave some thai food, this is the place to get it. If you don’t have time to seat and eat… They also do take out!

Thai Basil Leaf has the best lunch specials! All my favorites for $ 6.50 and portions are generous. Service is ok. I thought it was strange our menus came in folders with brads but after my first bite it completely slipped my mind.
The chicken pad Thai with spicy level at 4 was perfect for me. I love my spice and I know Thai food is always hot. I throughly enjoyed my meal and cleaned off my plate. I will definitely be back for more.

I love Coconut Chicken Soup! It’s my favorite especially on a day like today when I’m sick and it’s raining! I started off with the shrimp salad rolls with peanut sauce and then the coconut soup.
The owner was over the top super nice. The only watch out is the white draperies on the table. I am a messy eater and got soup all over the place! Lol
Back to the soup though, it was perfect in terms of spicy, with lots of onions chives, mushrooms and carrots. so PERFECT!

Thai Basil is a great place for Thai food. I have been to a few Thai restaurants lately and Thai Basil Leaf is very good one of the best. I’m not an expert on Thai food but I am getting better. The problems of not knowing what food to order scare people off just go for it and pick a new dish.
For appetizer had the dumplings which were tasty they were meatball wrapped in a wanton with a sweet soy sauce for dipping very good.
Then I I ordered the Pad See Eew which is a flat noodle dish with Chinese broccoli and I added chicken. I got a 3 spicy out 5 and it had a good bite on heat. And Chinese broccoli is nothing like regular broccoli completely different taste more like spinach. I plain on going back and trying the curry soup.
The restaurant is in a small strip mall limited amount of seating very casual with table service and white table clothes. The service was perfect very friendly and attentive to our needs.

The husband and I were driving around Arlington looking for something to eat. We accidentally turned on Park Row and found Thai Basil Leaf. Right next to it is a Sushi restaurant. We are sitting in the parking lot like we are on a stake out. So, «Sushi or Thai?» «Sushi or Thai?» he says. Me: «Alright, eenie meenie miney moe» Him: I’m hungry dammit”. After 9 years of marriage, we pick on each other a lot.

Thai reminds me of my Mama (she passed away in 2000) and her favorite food was Thai. I seen the Cashew Chicken. Again, it reminds me of my mom. As a little girl, we would go out for Thai and would always get the Cashew Chicken. At a Thai restaurant, I always have to order Cashew Chicken before I try anything else, just like at a mexican restaurant I have to get the Chile Relleno first. I think mostly it makes me think about her and memories with her that Cashew Chicken brings.
I was very surprised at the Cashew Chicken. Most Thai restaurants skimp on the cashews. Thai Basil Leaf gave me plenty of cashews, chicken, and vegetables. It was a hefty portion indeed and I enjoyed every bite of it.
My husband got the Cho Chee fish? Some name like that. It was fried tilapia in a yellow curry sauce. It was soooo good. The fish went well with the yellow curry sauce.
Oh, and we started off with dumplings. Those were delicious as well and I could just eat those and be fine.
I would no doubt be back to Thai Basil Leaf.

Wow, this restaurant serves some incredible food. I was sketched when I first went because of the dingy location and the seemingly sub-​par state of cleanliness. The tablecloths looked cheap and worn, there was a fly buzzing around, and an odd, dollar-​store-​level centerpiece reminiscent of a petri dish adorned our tabled. The menu sounded pretty swell, even though it was also lacking in the sanitary department.
All of this went out the window when my plate his the table. The dishes were beautiful… A mesmerizing white plate and an oblong bowl that held within one of the best curries I’ve ever had in my life. I really like curry and the first taste literally blew my mind. Food may or may not have been falling out of my mouth because of how far my jaw had dropped at the reversal of atmosphere.
Every single bite was delicious and I can’t wait to come back. I can’t speak of anything but the curries; you can’t go wrong with ordering any of them.
