T L Nails & Spa

Well I guess I change my mind now after reading these horrible reviews. I WAS going to get a pedicure and a new full set of acrylics tomorrow but I think i will pass. I really wanted coffin shaped nails but afraid to ask. It seems to me about 4or5 years ago they got pretty good reviews up until now. Thanks to Unilocal I guess I will stick with «Tip Top Nails» in Revere.

3÷20÷15: I’ve been coming to T&L Fashion for awhile and have always been very impressed. It’s right down the street from work, and everyone has been very friendly. I usually get a very nice massage and love the outcome, whether it’s a mani or a pedi. Today, however, I went in and was not as satisfied. I went in around 2:20ish and was the only customer for a while. I got a manicure, which seemed totally fine during. I went to the dryer, had the lady check them to make sure they were dry, and left. However, only a couple hours later noticed my thumb, pointer, and middle finger were already chipped. I have not done anything that should have caused this. I’m pretty disappointed. Probably going to try somewhere else now.
3/21/2015:Update: woke up this morning and the polish on two nails is almost completely off. Poor quality job if you ask me. Not coming back here.
3÷22÷15: today is now Sunday and there is only polish left on 2 nails. The polish came off in big chunks while doing simple things like running my hands through my hair or taking my wallet out of my purse. Absolutely ridiculous.

I’ve been going to this salon for almost 2 years. All the women are very nice and accommodating. A few of the women who have been there longer are definitely the more seasoned and talented. They do a great job and make it a pleasure going there.
The salon is clean and easy to get to. Usually you do not have to wait long for service but most times I call a head.

I decided to get a pedi done here. Everything seemed to be going well till the time I reached the drying station. After a few minutes, the guy (who did my pedi) looked at my nails and said I was good to go.
Usually when you get a pedi, they would put a plastic covering your nails especially when you are wearing peep toe shoes. At this point, I asked him about the plastic. But he was adamant and said I didn’t need it. So I started wearing my shoes and was surprised as he did not help me with it (which every nail salon does) even though standing right in front of me. That is when I realized that my fresh paint was smudged.
Inspite of seeing all this, the guy did not offer to help even a bit. I forced him to put the plastic regardless. And as I stay a few blocks away from this salon, I started walking. Came home to see that the paint was now totally ruined.
I am never going back to this place.

Love these ladies All of them do a great job. I cannot emphasize enough as someone who is in the industry… Tell them or show them what you want if you are picky and they will accommodate. My pics are posted

The owner is rude and loud and speaks in her language when she is talking about you. Today I walked in for a manicure, and the older woman who did mine was clueless. Never greeted, acknowledged me, just put the paper towel down and started at my nails. When I said hello she just went blank. Not sure if she is the owner’s mother, I had to ask 3 times for her to cut my cuticle properly, than the owner chimmed in saying «not soft enough». Tell me, who is running this show. I felt like a fool, then she kept cleaning up the nail polish with her dirty finger nails (dirt under them). They do not have their liscences posted and I wonder if the woman who did my manicure even has a liscence. I will check into this. I was not escorted to the dryer, but was told «Dryer over there». I know where they are, you are supposed to take my things and sit me down — instead she put my purse on the chair in which I was to sit.
What a disaster.- will never return.

I don’t know how anyone loves this salon but I work in the area so this was the closest place and needed a quick manicure at lunch. I tried it out for the first time thinking, how bad can it be for 12 dollars?
First of all, the owner, whatever her name is, had major attitude! I didn’t realize she was the owner until much later. I should have turned around and walked out then. The woman that did my nails (assume the owners mother) did my manicure and it was not good at all. I’ve had much better manicures than this!
When it was time to dry my nails, they usually help you with your stuff right, like your pruse but no, she didn’t bother. Whatever, no big deal I will carry my purse and risk a chip. She didn’t even turn on the machine for me, I had to figure that out on my own.
After drying my nails for about 5 minutes, the owner comes over and SLAMS down a bunch of magazines right on top of my dryer — she didn’t just place them on the dryer, she SLAMMED them like she was pissed. I literally jumped out of my chair. After slamming the magaizine, she gives me a dirty look, like «say something»…
Are you kidding me? What did I do? I haven’t said one word since I’ve been here, I did everything I was told, picked my damn color and sat down and turned on my own freaking dryer… WTH?
I asked the young woman next to me, «was that necessary». She says, «I know, she is so rude, its terrible — she is always like this and she wishes she could find a better salon». Okay well I wouldn’t put myself through this nonsense, I don’t care if you were the only mani/​pedi place in town”. Okay, so its not just me! I’m sorry but this place is a joke. I would NEVER return to this pathetic establishment. I am absolutely horrified!
I will stick with my own place in Braintree, L’Image!

I had high hopes for this salon based on the other reviews, but was very disappointed with my experience. The woman who did my manicure filed my nails so roughly that she cut my pinky finger, and after I pointed it out she still managed to get nail polish remover in the cut twice. The nail polish I chose looked goopy and gunky after two coats so I asked to choose a different polish and instead the owner came over and finished my manicure by adding a third coat. While it looked good when I left (except for the nail polish all over my fingers and under my cuticles, which I removed), it is now over an hour later and my nails are STILL wet. The polish was just too old, and I wish she’d let me pick another color instead of just slathering on a third coat. The manicure seemed sloppy and unprofessional, and while I appreciated the owner noticing and trying to help, it resulted in a messy, smudgy manicure.

I went to this salon, with the hope of having a nice time getting my nails done with a friend. Intially impressed with Unilocal reviews and a friend experinces, I was looking forward to getting a nice mani. This is was probably the strangest, most unpleasant maincure that I have recieved. Before I lauch into what happened, I want viewers to know I wasn’t expecting alot and I don’t get my nails done very often. So, the women who did my nails was in a rush, but what bothered me, was her constant, texting during the mani, where she kept starting and stopping on my nails. I realized I needed to speak up, and I said emergency text, hugh, thinking she would get the hint, instead she keep doing it. While drying my nails under the dryer I nicked one, unable to get her attention, because she briefly left the salon when she came back, by then my nails were starting to dry, but I asked her to fix it, which she did, after giving me attitude and asking me why I didn’t ask her to fix it sooner. She tried fixing it three different times without much luck. Then, instead of placing my coat and scarf, on the chair, she threw it down on a couch. Well, Unilocalers I believe that sometimes you pay for what you get, and at $ 12, maybe I should have expected less, but is it too much to ask for some common courstey and basic customer service? I will not be coming back here again.

This place is fantastic! I had been looking for a good place for pedis, and my daughter found this place a year ago, and now we won’t go anywhere else! Prices are competitive, the ladies are all fantastic, and the quality is top-​notch! Can’t say enough good things about them.

I usually get a drink at Starbucks and walk across Mass Ave for a pedicure at this Arlington center salon. I highly recommend them to anyone. If you don’t know the joy and relaxation of getting a pedicure (which I didn’t until I was 30!), male or female, you must try it! Since I’ve been going here, I go nowhere else for a pedicure. There’s never a wait, the people are very friendly, everything is sparkling clean, and they do a great job. Convenient location and plenty of on-​street parking. They do facials and waxing in addition to nails, and the prices are reasonable. $ 25 for a pedicure, which is cheaper than many places. They added new massage chairs (including little ones with butterfly wings for kids). It’s very clean and the people are very friendly. Great pedicure!

Love this salon. They are friendly, particular in their work and quick! I do get my nails done every two weeks and frequent several salons in order to do so and have practiced this grooming for the past 20 years, so I think I can recognize a quality salon, a caring owner and the experience that it takes to keep a salon at the top of their game in terms of pleasing a particular crowd.
The realities of the summer ‘blow in and out” crowd that wants the mess of their feet and hands cleaned up after months of neglect, in order to survive the summer season (see above posts) and their ridiculous demands for a simple manicure are out of line and, quite frankly, describing yourself as a generous tipper is completely gauche. Shame on you for being so nasty in your review and so tacky in complaining about price!
I will be back, again! Thank you for working so hard T&L staff!

This is a terrific little family owned and run nail shop. Helen, her sister, and her mother all are very conscientious in their work. They really give a great manicure/​pedicure. And now that they’re carrying Shellac I couldn’t be happier. They seem to be expert in the ways of the soak off gel manicure. I would also highly recommend Helen for a bikini wax-she’s super quick and doesn’t leave a hair behind!

Great family owned nail salon. Very relaxing and no frills yet satisfactory. Helen does great mani and pedi, I do massages and am learning how to play the guitar so my nails have to be kept super duper short. Helen cuts it shorter than I can ever cut myself without even the tiniest ouch from me. Since it’s in Arlington center it’s very convenient from work. I’ll even travel on the wknd if I have to. Their M-​Thurs mani & pedi for $ 30 is a steal. As they normally cost $ 35. Creditcards accepted but tip is cash only, remember that.
Tell them banana told you. :) you will not get extra discount but Helen’s sister will get a good laugh.

This is a solid little nail salon for your summer pedicures. It is not a spa so don’t expect a spa-​like experience. However, the price is right and the ladies that work here are really nice. They remembered me when I went in the second time. Like other Unilocalers have noted, this is not an upscale place in terms of décor. It could use a makeover but they do keep there chairs clean and their instruments sterile. If you are looking for an affordable, lasting pedicure I would recommend this place.

it’s not a crystal palace, i know, but just try to point your lil’ eyes past the duct tape for two seconds and you’ll see what i see.
just got my nails done at t & l for the third or fourth time– 12 bucks for a great, lasting manicure from the sweetest gals this side of town.
i LOVE supporting little family businesses, even if a cactus is the extent of their interior design.
SUPPORT THESE LADIES! they’re so sweet and thorough! go getchya some 12 dollar sex fingas. that sounds dirtier than i intended. oh shvell.

If you want frills and beautiful décor with a staff that dotes on you, don’t come here. BUT if you want a good manicure/​pedicure that lasts, this is your place. The staff is friendly, they use OPI nail polish, have working massage chairs, and are very reasonably priced ($ 35 for mani/​pedi). That’s enough for me!

TL Nail Fashion is a convenient salon in Arlington Center. Hopping either 77, 79 or the 87 will get you here no problem. The space is a little lackluster but the magazine subscriptions are current and the the massage chairs are brand new. You might be wary of the $ 27 pedicure, besides, can’t you get a $ 20 pedicure in the city? Why, yes, but it’s not nearly as thorough, friendly or relaxed. Rarely do I feel rushed out of TL. I’ve never been encouraged to spray my toes with aerosol mink oil and scoot out the door. Instead, I wait for my turn while sitting on the cush microfiber couch, take my place in the ever so delightful massage seat, marvel at the LED display in the pedicure tub, enjoy my foot treatment, dry, pay and tip generously on my way out. 4 stars for great service but a bit more of a hit to my wallet than I appreciate.

Some of the best pedis I’ve gotten in a while were here. My old stomping grounds, Arlington, oh Arlington! They were pretty well priced as I can remember as well.
The ladies have always been nice to me when I’ve walked (no, I never bothered to make an appointment in the 2+ years I went there and there alone…) in and have always been speedy and efficient.
They did really good jobs on my acrylics and on my eyebrows last time I was there as well. I can’t wait to go back there, I miss it! They also have really comfy chairs and crappy magazines to read too. What’s better than that?

This is your classic no-​frills nail salon. The ladies behind the desks are busily speaking to one another in foreign tongue whilst the poorly tuned TV drones news on low-​moderate volume in the background. The décor is drab, but the seats are comfy. I got a manicure and they did a nice job. They have OPI colors (love it!) and those yummy pedicure/​massage and bath chairs too. All the right stuff, but the décor is very depressing. Good cheap no-​frills manicure = 3 stars.
