Business Owner

Brian is the owner of award winning Superlative Events in Arlington, Virginia a full service special event company specializing in entertainment and lighting. Recent awards include top recognition from The​Knot​.com, Wed​ding​wire​.com and Virginia Living Magazine as one of the top special event companies in the industry. Brian is also involved with the International Special Events Society promoting the highest levels of excellence in the special events industry.

Brian went to James Madison University (’05) and studied media arts and design and music industry. He performed and led the all male a cappella group Exit 245. He was nominated for best collegiate male soloist by the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Society (CARA). He was also active in recording and producing multiple CARA top 10 albums of the year for Exit 245, Note-​oriety and The Bluestones.

We used Superlative Events for our ward Christmas party. The uplighting looked great and really transformed the Mormon church gym into a fancier hall for a party. Arranging the order was super easy. Brian helped figure out how many lights we would need. We did the option where the lights were shipped to us, and then returned them via prepaid fedex shipping. We set them up ourselves. It was pretty easy and the cultural hall looked great. The price was great, too. Overall it was a great value for how much it helped set the ambiance of the party.

Only once in a while will you find a company that knows how to do it right. Superlative Events is definitely one of them. Excellent communication, smooth everything, from helping decide what we need, to billing, shipping and return, could not be more of a breeze. We will for sure deal with them again and again.

Brian, the owner, hits it out of the park with his customer focus. From his first consult to his final execution he listens, takes meticulous notes, and lays out a plan to meet everyone’s wants, needs, desires, AND budget.
His execution at our wedding was flawless and he transformed our space in ways that we didn’t think were possible. Lighting (including spot, gobo, uplighting), a wonderful photo-​booth, wireless microphones/​speakers, and fantastic DJ’ing with music tailored to our event and tastes. We were amazed. He didn’t just provide a «stock» solution, though Brian can offer plenty of suggestions and brings years of experience, everything was customized specifically for our event and tied in wonderfully with our theme.
So, no matter your event needs, you should consider Superlative Events in your vendor search — you won’t be disappointed.
