Wish I had checked Unilocal before going to Over the Rainbow. Its in my neighborhood and I was desperate but I should have been warned by the old fashioned set up of the salon, over the hill nail techs, and extremely limited selection of Shellac color choices. The other posters were correct – the techs here DONOTKNOWHOWTODOSHELLAC(gel nails). I had the same experience as they mentioned – no real manicure to speak of, rough filing and jagged nails, and very sloppy, bumpy paint application. My fingernail chipped the next day(Shellac is supposed to last 14 days). Needless to say I will not return to Over the Rainbow. Oh, and they wanted cash payment, not credit card, so I couldn’t leave a full 20% tip… oh well, just as well!

If I could give zero stars I would. Julie(julieta) is the one of the most unprofessional people I have seen(in any profession). She has been late before and cancelled jobs at the last minute, making me juggle my schedule. Totally unreliable. Don’t be fooled by her seemingly nice demeanor.

Avoid this nail salon like the plague. I just got the WORST shellac«manicure» ever. The nail tech here filed my nails for about 10 seconds and then went right at applying the gel. Worst yet, she did a horrendous job applying the color. Some nails were missing half the paint, some were covered with a super thick coat and two had air bubbles. If you know about shellac, you know that I now have to live with this mess for 2 weeks and pay to have someone remove it. I voiced my concern multiple times and nothing was done. The woman said«oh it is b/c you have dry cuticles.» Really? You’re inability to paint a nail properly is because of my dry cuticles?! No other nail tech has ever had that problem. I waited and waited for the actual manicure part to happen – you know – filing the nails, shaping the cuticles, hand lotion… it never did. When I went to leave she said that’ll be $ 40. I looked at her like she was crazy. I wish I had just walked out, but at this point I was so beat down and annoyed I didn’t want to cause more of a fight. Additionally, this place wasn’t clean ATALL. I watched the nail tech«clean» her tools with nail polish remover. Yuck!

I have been going there for years to get nails and waxing. Julie is the best! She takes her time and everything comes out perfect.
