This is the best halal food I’ve had! Huge portions, flavorful meat and such good customer service! This halal food is definitely superior to the one available in the green food cart close to rosslyn metro. I have the chicken and lamb combo over rice, with spicy red sauce and cool white sauce. totally suits my indian taste buds. The veggie options are pretty tasty too– I like the side of spinach that I occassionally get with my rice meal. The owner is a really polite and friendly guy, who remembers my order every time! I’ll miss this convenient, tasty and affordable meal when I move from Rosslyn.

I got the chicken and rice briyani, with a side of chana masala. I’m not sure what the white sauce is but it came on top. The owner is super friendly!

Amazing food… cheap, good protein, tastes delicious. One of my regular go to’s — combo over rice, chickpeas, white sauce and extra spicy

The food here is fantastic and the price is unbeatable for the area. Food always tastes hot and fresh. The cook is always polite and conversational. I go here whenever I have cash as it is cash only. If it took credit cards id be here all the time.

This is truly a gem of Rosslyn and one of my favorite spots for lunch if I’m working in the area. The customer service is very friendly and they also accept credit card too which is convenient. The location is only about half a block from the Rosslyn Metro station and the hours are usually from 11am-3pm on Monday-Friday. The prices are more than reasonable, it roughly costs about $ 7 for a Gyro with your choice of lamb, chicken or both. I usually get both sauces and I think it’s great the even offer hot sauce.

Pretty good chicken and rice. 4 stars for a very straight forward menu with very well executed ingredients. It is not a blow you out of the water place, but it does its job and does it very well.

This is still the best halal around Arlington! So filling, so flavorful… The meats are really well seasoned and the portions are huge. The guy running the cart is just the nicest, too. Always pleasant and always asks how your day is going. You can get a little bit of the vegetarian sides for free with your meal too(usually spiced chick peas, potatoes, or saag spinach). With all the new halal food trucks like Over the Rice showing up around town, I am only reminded of how good the Metro Halal Food Cart is! Quality halal for cheap prices($ 7 for a meal). I just have to hold myself back from going too often for fear of what it’ll do to my waistline… Note that it has moved from the center of N Lynn Street across from the metro, over to where the CVS is on Lynn and Wilson(at the ABC building).

Best food truck in rosslyn. You get a ton of delicious food at a good price(as opposed to all the other crazily overpriced trucks). Good dude too.

This is my favorite lunch in Rosslyn. The man who runs the truck is really wonderful and seems genuinely interested in how your day is going, and that’s pretty awesome. But the lamb! Oh, the lamb. It’s so well-spiced, and it comes with flavorful rice and a salad with dressing that complements the flavor of the spicy sauce he’ll gladly add, at your request. He’ll also throw some really satisfying spinach on top, if you’re interested, so you can feel like you’ve had a balanced meal. Best $ 7 value I can think of. I spent about that much on a set of 12 one-use costume vampire fangs the other day. Cash only, as I’m sure others have said, but the cart is next to CVS, so it’s pretty easy to buy something(anything! everything!) there and get cash back, in a pinch. I believe in the 1100 Wilson Boulevard lobby there’s also a Chase ATM. I work there, so I should know definitively, but in my defense I have Bank of America and they fine me if I so much as look at another ATM.

This cart is at the Rosslyn location EVERYOTHERWEEK. aka Rosslyn one week(if you’re facing CVS, look to your right), and Ballston one week(near the mall, at the corner. kind of away from all the other food trucks). Did not like this at all. Food was overly spiced for my liking and felt very heavy. Was also given this chickpea thing on top of the rice + lamb + chicken… was not a fan of the chickpea thing. But others like it, there’s usually a line of at least 4 – 5 people at the Rosslyn location. I went to the cart when it was at Ballston but there was no one there. It might also be because there were two other halal carts next to this one. The man was really nice. he gets the two stars but not his food.

One of the better food truck options in the Rosslyn, VA area. $ 7 for a meal and $ 1 extra for a drink, cash only. The chicken and rice can be considered spicy on its own even without the red sauce, but if you do add the red sauce — good luck!

This is by far the best food cart in Rosslyn. The guy is super friendly, remembers what you’ve ordered before and always order, just the way you like it, and it just all around awesome. I don’t even mind that it’s cash only! I walk past my bank’s ATM from my work building towards the cart so it’s just a quick in and out! Love it!

I want to eat here every day for the rest of my life. The food is consistently good here. I always get the combo, lamb and chicken, over salad and I ask for mine to be extra spicy and he delivers. For $ 7 you get a huge portion of food hat may put you in a food coma, but it is well worth it.

Best food cart in Rosslyn. I just started working in Rosslyn and there aren’t a handful of good restaurants. However, this food cart is very good, filling, flavorful, inexpensive and the guy is super nice. Not a fan of the food truck, but for Halal I made an exception. Cash only.

The Metro Halal cart in Rosslyn is quite possibly the very best food cart in the DC area. You know you are at the right spot if there are only a handful of simple options: lamb or chicken(or both) on a pita for $ 6 or over rice for $ 7. In all cases, you’ll get some lettuce and some onion on the side as well as your choice of white sauce and a delightfully spicy hot sauce. The lamb and chicken are equally good, but when there’s a vegetarian option that’s also quite yummy. The chickpeas in particular have some heat to them as well as a distinct cinnamon-y spice as well. Rosslyn sees some trendier food carts to offset the dearth of quality brick-and-mortar locations, but with the departure of District Taco’s cart from the scene, nothing compares now to the value and deliciousness of Metro Halal. I live in the neighborhood and when I’m home on a weekday, this is my #1 lunch preference.

Nothing needs be said – just get the chicken/lamb combination. You will not regret it. Even if you are here for only a couple days like I was, make an effort to stop by this food cart. While I am not exactly experienced with halal cuisine, I find it hard to imagine that you can find a better valued meal elsewhere. At least come and share it with someone as an afternoon snack. $ 6 and so much delicious meat!

As a New Yorker, this was my once a week joint for 3 years in D.C. I went to the location on Wilson Blvd near the ABC building as it was closest coming from American Uni. The rice is so fresh and unique which separates itself from all that other gaaaabage gyro trucks in D.C. The chicken and lamb are insanely good, ask Kashif(Rosslyn location) to cut up pieces of pita for your platter(no charge), its a NY thing. I’m a big guy and this $ 6 plate was always enough for me, the owners used to own La Jawab in Arlington which I LOVED. I swear to God they served the best Biryani in the country when they were in business. Though the restaurant does not exist anymore, the Ballston location near Macys serves Biryani on Friday but make sure you get their before 1 p. m as the biryani finishes fast. I can get good halal gyro anywhere in NY but they don’t have the taste that Metro has up here. Hopefully I’ll be temporarily reunited soon. Don’t even think about comparing this to Tasty Kabob, Metro Halal is a A student where Tasty is just average.
