I was in the drive-through line for over 10 minutes earlier today for lunch. The person in front of me had a large order, but instead of asking them to move forward to let others go through, the drive-through staff and restaurant management allowed him to block everyone in. I called the manager while I was in the line to see if they could have the car in front move forward, but they did not. Not a big loss, greasy fish isn’t good for you anyway!

Stay away from this poor excuse for a restaurant. I just sat — BLOCKEDIN in the drive thru for 28 minutes waiting for my order. It was so bad that I had to call the store to find out what was going on. After making it to the window, I calmly asked to speak to the manager. Her name was«Miss Janie». «Miss Janie» came to the window and instead of apologizing for my wait and offering to comp my meal, she was immediately defensive and proceeded to tell me how busy they were and that I would just have to wait for my food. She never apologized. She never offered to do anything to make me a happy customer. She will be one of the main reasons this restaurant closes its doors. Stay away from this place. POORMANAGEMENT. My prediction is that this restaurant will be a nail salon in a month.

Walking through the fry cook’s cloud of cigarette smoke to enter the building the other evening was special. She was standing not 5′ from the door and didn’t even step aside to let me in. Then I got to watch her reenter and head back to the kitchen. Appetizing. I’m sure finding quality people to work in places like this is difficult but can’t they puff on their death sticks out back somewhere, out of sight?

I usually avoid this place like the plague, but it’s close and I’ve had recent eye surgery and mom is visiting so here I am. I ordered the new extra thick cod. It came with 302 hush puppies, luke warm fries, and good cole slaw in a very nice container. After I pulled up to the window and paid the window cashier said would u mind pulling around. Hello! In order for me to pull around I would need to make 2 left turns on Cooper Street. I don’t think so! When I explained to the new elderly cashier that I just had recent eye surgery and I’m not gonna she just looked at me in a disgusted way and shortly after I got my salty grub.

Yes this is a chain restaurant but I like this Long John’s Sliver’s. The food has always been good fresh and hot. Good service and a very clean store. I have been going to this location for over 15 years. I only eat LJ“s about 2 times a year. Since the fish is fried and not real healthy for you. But the fish is very tasty at this LJ“s. And I never found any place who can beat the hushpuppy’s and coleslaw. The fried clams are very good. The shrimp is fair. If the you are hungry for some good crispy fish give this location a try.

Found a hair in my food. Lost my appetite. Might give them another chance later but not anytime soon.

Call it a guilty-pleasure but LJS is one of my favs. My most recent visit was by request from my youngest who absolutely loves the fish filets. I love em too but the chicken plank things are my passion. Covered with a crispy, salty batter — these babies hit the spot and are just as good dipped in their shrimp sauce, tarter sauce or au’natural. They’re running a good deal right now where you can get 2 entrees for 10 bucks. The choices range from the usual fish/chicken/shrimp and various combinations in between. The staff at the S. Cooper location in Arlington is fantastic and always very polite and professional.

Ahhhhhh. Long John Silver’s. In an ever-changing world, you remain an unchanging constant. Mainly because your menu has barely changes in the three decades I have been frequenting you. I had largely written-off Long John Silver’s because, quite frankly, I think paying $ 20 for take-home chicken and fish is a little ridiculous. Apparently my sentiment was shared by many, because they now offer the Family Chicken Pack — a hearty helping of their chicken(no fish), a family-size side, and a dozen hush puppies. It really is some good food at a decent price. Which makes me wonder how long it will last. Because frankly, if and when this deal goes away, it may be another decade before I find my way back here.
