I contracted with L&R in Arlington to remodel my kitchen this last October. The work included removing two walls and replacing the countertop, cabinets, flooring, and new appliances and creating an «open» style kitchen. The job went great, they were trustworthy, easy and fair to work with and really cared about doing a good job and satisfying me. Plus, they were the lowest bidder, stayed within schedule and budget!
The finished kitchen looks terrific to me and because I have received so many compliments on the design and finished work from friends and family it really makes it easy to give a five star rating. I’d hire L&R Contractors again and will give them an opportunity to remodel a family room withing the next couple of months.

I initially contacted Lawrence last October to obtain an estimate to renovate my basement which had suffered from a flood. Lawrence was very responsive from scheduling our initial appointment, to discussing design ideas, sending an estimate, following up and continuing to follow up. Fast forward to February when I asked if instead of tackling the entire basement, if we could focus on designing a new bathroom first (the most difficult part of the basement project). He agreed and we met to review the design and discuss options. Over the following weeks, I researched fixtures, faucets, vanities, etc. and sent him all the information to ensure that all specifications were met prior to ordering. No matter how long the day, he still found time to review and provide feedback. Lawrence and his team were very considerate about taping off other sections of the basement to reduce the transfer of dust throughout the house. We ran into a minor setback when drilling concrete and installing the new plumbing based on the pre-​existing plumbing in my house (built in 1952). Regardless, the project moved forward and while there were a few additional delays due to weather (all the rain/​humidity slowed down drying of mud/​primer/​paint), the end result is a beautiful bathroom. The attention to detail and follow through has been amazing. After taking the inaugural shower, I learned that the water pressure lessened on ‘hot’, so that lead to Lawrence coming back to look at it, contact Kohler, order replacement parts (known problem to the manufacturer) and come back yet again to install the new diverter. Lawrence was very conscious of what I envisioned and my budget and delivered a beautiful end product (and impressed my mom too!). I have already recommended Lawrence to a few friends and will definitely call him again for my next project.

My wife and I had been looking for a contractor to do our bathroom in our condo for a long time. It wasn’t anything too special. Just a 5’x8’ condo bathroom that needed an update.
We were very set on the colors, quality, and type of materials that we wanted and had a pretty strict budget. We got a few contractors to come by and give us estimates to do the work and we were not very impressed. Everyone was either way too expensive, or way too pushy. But when Lawrence came to look at it, he sat down and discussed our design with us (which was a first for us). He looked at what colors we wanted, what materials we had decided on, and talked about a budget. To our surprise, he didn’t give us an estimate right then and there, he went home and called a few days later to set up another appointment.
At this meeting, he brought an actual DESIGN of our bathroom! We were kind of taken back by it because we already had a design in mind, but it was nice to see everything in front of us and play around with some colors and other options that really changed our outlook on the whole project. SOLD!
The project starts and the guys work really well. It’s a small place and we have a dog and a cat, so we were obviously nervous about a lot of trash and people around our place. Nope. Instead, a small crew showed up, taped off the bathroom from the rest of the house to keep dust contained, and worked hard to keep the project moving and the rest of our place clean.
We did run into a few problems along the way that Lawrence didn’t expect and that did add a couple days to the project, (plumbing issue with our building), but they worked with our HOA and got everything back on track.
Bottom line: Initial meeting was good, second meeting was great, they kept to our budget with no surprise bills, and delivered a clean result that we are very happy with.
We will absolutely call Lawrence again.
