I googled Canon# and spoke to who I thought was canon technician. I was having some issues with my new canon g7x (viewing photo’s) I don’t transfer my photo’s to my pc but to my phone. The technician insist on trying to tell me he needed to connect to my pc to be sure there’s no internet/​wifi issues in order to transfer the photo’s wifi via camera to pc. How ignorant I was to let him connect to my pc using some software I had to download, which by the way I disconnected my pc and unplugged my router, then uninstalled the software. I was watching him while he was snooping around on my pc. It sure didn’t look like he was looking for wifi issues. SCAMMERS! Please be careful people. They are called Geek Technical 888−759−0763 located in Virginia. I’m going to report to the BBB

We had just picked up our pc computer at the Geek Squad at Best Buy when we received a phone call from Geeks Technical Support. They led us to believe that they’re they were connected to the Best Buys repair unit. They convinced my wife that her computer was infected with many viruses and that for $ 350 they would give us full service on all of our computers. After the tech remotely accessed her computer and supposedly work on it for most of the day it started to give us problems. We called them back and were told that the repairs needed were not covered on our service contract and we would have to pay an additional $ 350 to allow them to repair our computer. When we refused to pay they said they would fix it at no additional charge. They tied up the computer for another day and made it worse. We took the computer back to BestBuys and they fixed it in a few hours.
Then the phone calls started. The company is supposedly based in Virginia but every one we spoke with had an Indian accent. When we pressed them on it, they admitted that they were based in India. We got phone calls from supervisors, managers, related companies at all hours for almost two weeks. They sent us a $ 50 Amazon gift card asking if we were now satisfied with their service. We kept telling them not to contact us any more. It was bordering on harassment. The last phone call we told them if they called again, we would contact the state attorney general. We have not heard from them for four days.
Bottom line. Save your money and your computer.

No, no, no. Stay away from these frauds. They showed me stuff that was naturally on my computer, told me it was all kinds of foreign servers on my computer (macbook pro), got into it to «fix» it, and now I can’t open the thing up at all. Three and a half hours on the phone while the tech made basic guesses about how to open it, which all failed. They don’t know squat about macs, and they are basically a bunch of rip off artists. Very smooth talking to sucker folks like me who don’t know anything about computers. The straight up told me they were the tech support for firefox, a bald faced lie. Hopefully M.A.C. Berkeley can repair it, and I’ll chalk the cost up to a lesson hard learned. Outfits like this should be run out of the business. I’ll call the BBB today, and the California Consumer Bureau, to register my dismay. Everyone who has had dealings with these people need to do the same.

Really bad experience. They are located in India or somewhere far away, don’t speak good English and don’t know how to resolve problems. Wanted to charge $ 200 and I said it was too much so they said $ 150. Then they couldn’t fix the problem and my computer is worse so they said they would send a check for a refund of $ 100. Didn’t get the check the first week or the second week. Finally got the check the third week. They must have called me a minimum of 50 times and it was terrible. Don’t ever use them.

My experience mirrors all of the other reviews here. They’re an Apple Cares imposter. I did allow their phone representative with heavy accent to remotely access my computer, so praying that their scam is simply limited to a slick fear-​based sale of overpriced (or unnecessary) security services… and not a large scale data breach with malicious intent. Best to visit
for customer service numbers vs. using a search engine. Beware!

I also was under the impression that this was Apple Tech Support and was tricked into giving them access to my computer and my Apple password. Don’t know what they down or uploaded. After being told that I had virus and malware which will probably allow someone access to my financial and personal life, I declined to purchase their high price offers which multiple price options. I am now seeking help elsewhere as I son’t know what they can do with the info they now have. Note that I did change my Apple password and am not ever using the password they «safe» recommended.

I wish there is a negative rating. Someone called my home phone with area code 860 (in CT) with heavy accent and very difficult to understand. He told me my computer has a virus, asked me to allow them to remote login to my computer and run their diagnostic SW packages. I told him I did not receive any virus error message on this computer. Since this is a new laptop, it already pre-​installed with MCAfee virus protection package. Once he realized that he can not access to my computer or credit card, he just hung up the phone.

my computer was malfunctioning, a month-​old imac. i also called what i thought was apple support. they explained they were picking up a gap in Mac security, and i needed $ 250. protection plan for the life of the computer. a month later, a pop up from the virus protection came on the screen. called them, they said my computer was full of virus again! and i needed an additional $ 200. of protection! They’re nice as they hoover up whatever funds you’ll fork over to them.

I called for tech support for Apple, erroneously believing they were affiliating with Apple. They said my problem was due to a security breech and that I needed to purchase a $ 899 lifetime subscription security system from them before doing anything else. When I refused saying that I wasn’t purchasing anything before investigating it further, he lowered the price and eventually hung up on me.

I called with a question on a new iMac and they attempted to sell me a $ 600 Virus protection package… steer clear of these guys!
