Great atmosphere and outside space. The patio is pretty spacious and I’ve usually been able to find a table. There’s an outdoor bar and you can get both food (at least apps-​not sure about the whole menu) and drinks, and the whole patio is covered. Great place to hang out on warm summer evenings (or even in winter-there’s space heaters!). Good for groups too.

I’ve come here twice now. They have some good happy hour deals and this place has a fun atmosphere. However, my most recent experience, my service was not good. I came with my two girlfriends to grab a bite and a drink during HH. To be fair, our waiter did tell us he was new. But come on, it was a Friday night during happy hour. A busy night. Maybe don’t schedule the new guy?
When we got there, he didn’t tell us the happy hour specials. We ordered some drinks anyway. When we finally asked, he said he didn’t think they had HH deals, but he would go check. He had to go hunt someone down. Turns out — yes they do. Obviously. Took him FOREVER to come back to our table to tell us the deals. Then we wanted to look over the menu for a minute, and he was gone for another extended period of time. We were just ready to order food by this point and were getting annoyed. We FINALLY put an order down and the food came out. The food was A-​OK, we got the buffalo chicken dip and tater tots. We asked the guy who brought out our food for ranch and hot sauce. He never comes back with it. So we ask our waiter when he finally returns to the vicinity of our table. He’s gone for a while again and comes back with the two sauces, but by then it was too late. We were so hungry we just ate all our food anyway. Then when we got the bill, he charged us for the two sauces that we didn’t even get to enjoy with our food. It wasn’t much money, but just the principle of it is frustrating. He also kept forgetting to take our empty glasses/​plates, and our tiny 3-​person high top table was getting very crowded. We had to flag him down anytime we needed something done (ordering drinks, food, getting the check). Those are normal requests a waiter is supposed to check with you about periodically. We ended up spending a lot longer here than we wanted to and left annoyed.

One of my favorite spots in Arlington. Great beer, amazing food. The patio is large and is perfect when the weather is nice. The location couldn’t be better.

I’ve been here a couple times since my girl works nearby, and it’s a biergarten.
Their happy hour is decent, they have a limited selection of beer that goes on special. On the day we went, it happened to be Port City on discount. Not even mad…
Their appetizers are pretty good, especially the fried basket with pickles and jalapenos if I’m remembering correctly. Happy hour prices on small plates/​appetizers are excellent.
My girl and I came here for dinner before a Nats game. I had a Jagerschnitzel sandwich, which was quite good. The spaetzl was superb! They always have great beer here. I definitely recommend checking this place out.

I came here for the first time while visiting a friend in Arlington, and I was pretty impressed.
Atmosphere is a post-​grad young professional feel, which was pretty lively and fun. The servers were cute, and very friendly.
I got a buffalo chicken sandwich, and it was probably the best buffalo chicken sandwich I have ever had.
If you’re looking for a place to get some good food and have a couple drinks, I’d recommend this place.

Courthaus Social is quickly climbing up the ladder on my favorite places to go in Arlington, and I’ve only been there twice in my life.
The first time I went was after a brunch on a summer day in August so the only thing I remember about that trip was having FUN.
The second time I went was last week for Wednesday night trivia! CS does District Trivia so it’s well organized and actually a good time. We sat outside for the entire trivia and were still able to hear all the questions well enough to play, even with all the background noise and the wind. When you’re outside, you do have to order your food and drinks from the bar out there but it’s not a huge deal and service is still pretty quick.
They have a ton of space outside so if you’re looking for a place to grab some beers after work or hang out on a weekend afternoon this is a great spot for it.

So they rebranded this place from Velocity 5 awhile back and I have to say its a stark improvement. There is a large patio outside with a lot of TVs and the whole inside has been redone and sometimes they have live music events which are decent. The bar staff is always friendly and quick to get you drinks. Cant say Ive had much in the way of food here but from what Ive heard its not bad. They have a large beer selection and usually show UFC or boxing matches which is nice.

Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Is. Amazing. Chicken breast dipped in delicious batter cooked to its perfect crispy deliciousness, dipped in a buffalo sauce that isn’t too overpowering, not too thick — the perfect touch. Great beer selection.
Service is bar service — it’s not fast so if you’re in a rush — ask for the check when you order. I hate rating based on things that are not food… So five stars for the friggin sandwich. Get it. Don’t be disappointed. (Also the bleu cheese is crumbled on top; I’ve never been a fan of bleu cheese so I never get it. Hear it’s a great balance from a bleu cheese and buffalo sauce guy)

We’ve been to Courthaus about five or six times and every experience we’ve had has been amazing. The food is amazing. The drinks are amazing. The service and atmosphere is pretty much all you could ever ask for. Personally having been in the service industry, it’s outstanding when you go to a bar or restaurant and having such a positive experience. Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day and the first day of March madness and of course it was crazy packed and yet we had exceptional service and the manager, Micaela, was sure to assist in every way possible. Sadly they were sold out of pulled pork so we couldn’t get the ridiculously amazing pulled pork tots and instead I got a side «haus» salad and bratwurst fritters. Best decision ever. So good. My boyfriend got a bacon egg and cheeseburger and it too was SO good. Courthaus has definitely gotten our business and we cannot wait to return!

Ps, if you haven’t had the pulled pork tots, do so. Also if you haven’t had the bratwurst fritters, DO SO. And the pretzel with beer cheese. And everything else on the menu.

Came here via tinder to grab some beers. The place is a little bit loud so you might want to talk louder than normal. The service was attentive but not overbearing. And the food was okay. I had fried pickles because I longed for something from Charlotte. That’s where I was for three years. These fried pickles were too thin so you couldn’t really get more than breading. Lot of seating options makes this place great.

Bar Only
So I’ve only tried out the drinks here and I must say it’s pretty crafty. I love the presentations of each cocktail drink I’ve ordered. The prices are bit up there but quality it on point. Points for having pickle back shots! Most places don’t even serve this!
The bartenders are uniformed in clip-​on spenders and jeans which by the way is super adorbs! They were sweet but not as attentive. The vibe of the late-​night is chill and a bit empty. However the deejay was playing great old-​school 90s music that helped lighten the scene.
I would definitely come back and give this place another shot. Ya know, sit and dine. It’s small and intimate. There are 2 bars and dining area in-​between each. It’s located by AMC Courthouse, literally around the corner. It would be nice spot for a date. Drinks and a movie.

Well, this place has certainly changed since it was previously known as «Velocity 5,» a pretty laid-​back sports bar. Now this place is «Courthaus Social,» a self-​styled «American Brewhouse,» which combines all the comfort of a German Brewhouse (little) with the all the quality of domestic beer (overrated and overpriced). But it seems that their worst-​of-​both-​worlds idea is actually a big hit with the 20-​something hipsters that also think spending $ 11 (plus $ 3 more for beer cheese) on a pretzel is a peachy-​keen idea. Here’s an idea: knock it down a couple (more) dollars to at least match the price of real German restaurants.
With the concrete floors and the large loudspeakers, this place can get cacophonous, which is not what you want during trivia night. Luckily, a lot of the crowd goes outside during nice weather, which does cut down the noise some, and which will help your chances for getting a spot at a (communal) table. But either way, the place has large speakers that can really blast it out, so you are guaranteed to hear the questions, even if your brain is rattling the rest of the night.
As for the game, the trivia hosts they have here tend to drag the game out for 2 ½ hours. Why do they keep getting hosts here that take so long to run a game? Do they not know it is a work night? C’mon, step it up, people. Still, all in all, this is not that bad a place to play trivia at.
The food is decent enough here, but as I mentioned before, too expensive for what you get. Besides the most obvious case of the pretzel, the sandwiches and entrees are overpriced as well. I guess that leaves only Ireland’s Four Courts, as the only place left in Arlington that has both good quality and fairly-​priced pub food. But if you are not that hungry, you can get a reasonably-​priced snack by paying $ 6.00 a sausage (three for $ 16) for their custom sausage plates. I have enjoyed both their kielbasa and their bratwurst and have gotten off pretty easy, money-​wise.
As for the beers, most people over 35 can forget it. Although there are seemingly plenty of beer choices, if you remove all of the watery wheat beers and nasty-​tasting IPA’s, you are left with precious few beer drinking options. I guess I will be sticking with ice water (sodas are Pepsi products) yet again. Sigh.

Place has great food and an extensive beer menu. I have came here about 7 times in the last few months to watch the NFL games, especially the play off games. The place looks 1 million times better than what was there before and has a very chill vibe and everyone always seems to be enjoying themselves.
When the weather is warmer they have a sweet back patio thats fun to hangout at and there a pretty large bar out there too

One of my friends just had the best grilled chicken sandwich of her life. I personally had one of the best buffalo chicken sandwiches of my life. The food was great and presentation was well done. We arrived on the later side, around 10, and there looked to be different groups of people: couples, party people, friends chilling. Very casual scene that seemed to fit well for anyone. They also have a beer garden which I wish were open! I’m down for a good Hefeweizen and they had not one, not two, but THREE. omg. Winning.

Went here at 10pm on a Thursday before the Blizzard of 2016. Sister sought a burger for dinner but after taking our order, the bartender informed us only the late night menu was available and brought out a late night menu of bar grub that did not include a burger. :(Instead they had a bunch of appetizers fitting the German theme of the name aka we ordered «brat fritters» and the «haus salad». With decent food and a better beer list and almost all community tables fitting the «haus» theme, would only come back with a group of friends that didn’t want to go to Fireworks a few doors down.

Awesome place! Great beer selection, great food and a friendly staff! What more could you ask for?!

Courthaus Social has some of the best wings I’ve had in this area. The beer selection is quite expansive and suits the menu offerings very well.
Great spot to watch any sporting events with a large group of friends.
In cool summer days the patio seating is perfect for having a nice cold beer and hanging out with friends. Will definitely keep going back.

Courthaus Social is one of the best sports bars in the D.C. area. If you’re lucky you may even run into a professional athlete on occasion. The renovation from Velocity 5 is mind blowing. The entire staff including two of their business partners are very personable, warm, and inviting. Just recently I had my birthday party there. I walked in to a private section cornered off for just my friends and me and there was no lack of service even though our group was huge. If you’re into trivia on Wednesday nights this place is packed from wall to wall with trivia teams. For a sports bar, their food is wonderful (especially the bread pudding). The environment is family friendly and when its nice outside, their patio is a great spot to spend your afternoons watching sports and drinking one of their specialty beers. This is definitely one of my favorite spots to hang out at!

If you are looking for an awesome sports bar, this place is it. If you are looking for a place to try great beer, this place is it. If you are looking for a place to get delicious food, this place is it. Courthaus Social is everything you could ask for in a bar/​restaurant.
I come up here to watch sports, take clients to business lunches, host events, etc. and have never been disappointed. They make sure to take care of every person that walks through their doors. From management to the staff their is always a friendly face. It’s a great place for recreation and business needs. I highly recommend!!!

Great food, drinks, service and atmosphere! The spicy chicken sausage is my favorite– also love the beer garden theme! Definitely my favorite place in Arlington to watch sports, hang out with friends, or eat brunch!

Only one German beer there. Food is tasteless but thankfully not heavy on the salt. Our group tried many dishes and shared them. Service is slow, but they have a nice staff that makes up for it. Sausage fest – too many date rape-​like dudes there, like 75 percent. Shouting match – Bring your earplugs. Parking issues if you drive. Bring a flashlight to read the menu; the place is dark.

I love the atmosphere. Great menu too. Solid beer list and reasonable prices.
The venue is good for large groups and is convenient for lunch.

We happened upon Courthaus just walking around. We decided to go in for a beer and some football viewing. .best decision ever!
We sat at the bar, not intending to stay long or eat. A few and beers, later we were still there chatting with the bar tender. Both bar tenders were very knowledgeable of the flavors of the craft beers and helped us make good selections.
We ended up ordering pretzel bites and reuben egg rolls. Just wow. They rueben rolls were so good that we ordered more after a while. They were sauerkraut and corned beef in a traditional egg roll shell, served with the thousand island dipping sauce.
There were televisions everywhere and a gew fans watching the games. I’d say Courthaus is definitely the place to catch a game because there was plenty of seating available when we were there.

Great atmosphere, good service (and not too pushy), with an okay beer selection. For a beer garden you’d expect a larger selection that a single page double spaced, but there are some great local beers on there and the usual standard macro lager bottles you can get anywhere. The tables inside are long, and have movable stools, so they can easily accommodate groups of 10. They also have trivia on Wednesday nights if you are into that. The Golden Ox is a nice, refreshing Belgian pale ale, more flavors going on if you have a good nose (some very faint fruit). They also have a seasonal Cranberry Ginger Beer, which I rather liked since the cranberry was the dominant flavor and the ginger provided more aroma than taste.

Great new place for lunch. I went in for a burger (yawn) and found the local sausage plate instead. For an hour I thought I was in Central Europe. Friendly, prompt service, comfortable seating with two different table heights.

Me and my girlfriend went for the first time and both had burgers, I had the California and she had the classic but there was no flavoring in the meat. Eating the burgers it was like such an odd absense of flavor. At least throw on some salt, which they don’t have at the tables.
Over priced for that. I wish I went to Wendy’s.

To be a little extra picky… Their tables on the inside are a little too low and you sit on these small stools. Good for children to sit at I guess.
The good is presented well but my impression of the place as that it’s just good to drink beer at and maybe have some sausages. Most likely won’t go there again.

Americanized version of the biergarten aka beergarden. Great happy hour selection and daily drink specials. $ 4 for 16oz bud light, not a bad deal. They played EDM the night that i came during a football game, LOL. The ambiance is casual and loud noise level. They have plenty of late night grubs to choose from.

Need to separate this place into 4 sections: beer, food, ambiance, and service.
Beer — well, I ordered 4 different beers. Each time I ordered a beer, our server would leave and then come back empty handed. Out of 4 beers that I ordered off of their menu, ZERO were available. Seriously. What made me more peeved, is the last beer I ordered that they didn’t have, the waiter figured he would just bring me something «similar». Nice attempt, but it was nothing like the beer I had ordered (I had the beer before and knew what it tasted like). What I would have preferred is that the server would have known what beers were available and gave me the option of what they had. This should have been done after the first order. After the 4^th failed attempt, and bad additional attempt to give me a beer that was nothing like what I had wanted (probably in hopes to shut me up), I opted for a bloody mary. The bloody mary was ok. It tasted like tomato juice w/​extra tabasco sauce. I make better ones at home w/​a bottle of Tito’s and Zing Zang. Don’t get me wrong, I consumed the beverage, but there was no way I was going to order another. 1 star for the lack of beer, 2 stars for the lackluster bloody mary.
Food — hubby and I ordered a sausage/​bacon/​potato hash. It was quite delicious and good to share between the two of us. I thoroughly enjoyed the one dish we bought. 4 stars for the food (well, the one dish we had).
Ambiance — I was truly expecting more from this place. I had heard about this «beer haus /​bier garten» and got overly excited to go there. There is nothing better than a good beer haus/​bier garten! There is one in Arlington called Westover Market (it is a store w/​a bier garten) and, while small in size, it is absolutely perfect. Great beer and typical no-​frills ambiance. Well, this place (Courthaus) seems to be a bit confused. I felt like it wanted to be a dance club /​high end restaurant /​bier garten all at once. The music blared at 11AM for brunch. The seating, while bier garten style tables were nice, felt more like a steak house with the décor. Overall, I was not impressed and couldn’t see this as a neighborhood watering hole, but definitely saw this as a hipster hot-​spot that will slowly lose business b/​c they cannot make up their mind what type of clientele they wanted to cater to. 3 stars for the ambiance, even through the confusion, the outdoor seating was very enjoyable and I appreciated the size of the tables and fans.
Service — my husband and I were there on a weekend at 1100hrs. It wasn’t busy at all, but as you probably already read in the ‘beer’ portion of my review — service was attentive (he came back 4 times) but not ‘thinking ahead’. Before I sound like a complete brat — I was a server for 4 years at a high-​end restaurant and I judge service as I would have wanted to be judged when I was serving. Had I been this guy, I would have inquired as to what beers were not on tap/​stocked in bottle at the beginning of my shift, and had I not done that I would have made sure I did that the second I came back empty handed after the first order. Then, to make up for the wait, I would have comped whatever beer the person ordered for the troubles. Neither my husband nor I asked for anything to be comped, and we tipped the obligatory 18% of the total bill. Maybe it is my fault for not talking to the manager or tipping to show my displeasure — but that is *typically* not my style (has to be pretty bad for me to do either). So, hopefully a manager of Courhaus Social reads this and makes sure that his waitstaff are more proactive when it comes to knowing the menu and what is/isn’t available. 2 stars for the service.
Overall, I will not be coming back to this establishment any time soon. I wouldn’t tell people to avoid it, but I would definitely tell them to make their way to Westover Market to enjoy a more authentic bier garten ambiance, and enjoy some wonderful food and an extensive tap selection of craft beer.

Update to my previous post when Courthaus Social first opened. I believe it’s an important update that everyone should be aware of.
So we’ve been here five times now. Twice inside and three times outside in the patio. Both times we’ve dined inside (the first and last) the service has been fantastic and we actually received our correct orders. The three times we’ve been outside it’s been pretty bad as all three times were either Friday or Saturday nights during peak business.
I feel as though the outside would benefit from a Made To Order or Point of Service system where people swipe a credit card and order what they want. The service outside just has never worked, BUT inside it has been great!
Courthaus is still Jekyll and Hyde but at least I have a good sample size now that has determined what is wrong and what is right. With autumn coming soon I imagine everyone will migrate inside — that will be the true test to see how good this place can be.

Place was hopping when I arrived at 6:30pm on a weekday. I waited at the outside bar for a little bit until a table opened up outside. Tables are long picnic tables and they double up people (they ask first). Service overall very good.
Food just ok. Pretzel is big but I am from the Philly area and a harsh judge of pretzels. This doesn’t cut the mustard– sorry for the pun. It’s cool that it comes with three sauces but it is not a pretzel. It is more bread/​cake like and not chewy so it didn’t feel authentic. Mac and cheese side dish was creamy and made with rigatoni but he cheese seemed only on top. Artichoke dip just ok. Beer selection is good and wait staff know their stuff.

I’ve been here a handful of times, and I have a great time every time.
There are three bars– 2 on the inside and 1 outside. This makes it really easy to get a drink, but also seems to be a bit inconvenient for bartenders when not every bar is stocked the same.
The bartenders and servers are wonderful though. Greg, Ryan, Mo, and Miguel are really friendly and seem excited to work there. They also can really handle a crowd when it gets crazy in there. Veronica was really great when I came with a bunch of friends on a Saturday night. There were tons of loud drunk people telling her so many different things but she kept her cool and served us pretty quickly.
The beer selection is pretty solid– they offer 16oz and 32oz, and will have boots soon!
Food is where they lost a star. Yes, it’s your typical bar food mixed with a little German variety, but a lot of it is average, or even below in some cases.
Fried japalenos and pickles, though– amazing. I could eat those all day. As well as the curly fries — get them with garlic sauce and you won’t regret it. Buffalo dip or spinach artichoke dip, not recommended. A bit over baked, and not too flavorful. Beware that the pretzel is HUGE, and you probably need at least 3 people to eat it with you. Comes with 3 dips– beer cheese, mustard, and honey mustard. Honey mustard was definitely my favorite.
Overall I’m a huge fan of this bar, and definitely recommend checking it out. Wednesday night is trivia night and there is sometimes live music on weekends.

I have to say this place truly impressed me. I have come here 2 nights in a row, and I fell in love with it.
This is a laid back bar with a diverse crowd. People are in here with work clothes, or shorts and t-​shirts. There clearly isn’t a dress code — the only mission is for you to enjoy yourself and what they have to offer.
Speaking of offerings; here is why I gave this place a 5 star rating:
1. Clean bathrooms
2. Extended happy hour until 8pm! I am not sure if this is on the weekend, but this applies during the week. $ 3 select beers, $ 4 rails, $ 4 house wine — white or red. Nightly they offer a discounted food item. Wednesdays are half off wings, and Thursday is cheesesteak sanwich night for $ 6. These are the 2 nights I came here back to back.
3. Outside patio seating with lots of space with full service side bar including bar seating. The patio is covered and MASSIVE!
4.Tons of HD tvs to watch the game.
5. Good food overall — everything I’ve tried so far as been decent. OMG … the wings… the wings!!! Not to forget the menu is extremely extensive.
6. Regardless if you’re at the bar or at the table — service has been decent. I’ll say for them only being open for about a week — they’re on top of the customer service.
7. Trivia night! Who doesn’t love trivia.
8., 9., AND SO ON … It’s a chill place. It can get a bid loud, but it’s a sports bar… a really fantastic sports bar that I will be frequenting during happy hour.
I’m totally sold on this place, and I think this is exactly what Courthouse needed — a chill sports bar without the bells and whistles. It’s nice to come to a place where I can drink and feel the buzz for under $ 20. I don’t see that anywhere else in the immediately vicinity of here.
