24 Hr Watch & Clockworks

This was my first visit, so like most watch repair places I went in expecting to drop of my wife’s Movado for a new battery and band and pick it up a week later. To my surprise, they actually fixed it right there on the spot, perfectly, and for a great price. You can tell by the inventory and tools on display that they really know what they are doing.

The store has good prices and good service but the guy (owner?) there is a bit rude/​gruff. He needs to improve his personal skills.

Yesterday I brought a mantle clock into the Leesburg shop as I thought it was not working. I had given the clock to my mother in the 70’s and she loved it. So it had sentimental value more than anything. Dee Marie was there and she hugged it and we connected about our love of clocks, how we name them etc. She even talked to it. Then she fiddled with it a bit and it worked! I just had been hesitant to wind it too tightly. I offered to pay a fee for the consultation and she would not take anything. All in all a delightful experience and I would recommend their shop to others.

I forgot to mention in my original review that battery replacement is $ 10. Relatively high markup but pretty standard in this area. Doesn’t include any cleaning/​seal testing, etc. (But this watch didn’t need that.) I woudn’t be surprised if the charge is higher on a Rolex Oysterquartz, Grand Seiko, Breitling Colt, or the like, but this was a middle-​high-​end Swiss watch.
Not sure what to make of the negative reviews. The place does have a large number of grandfather and other clocks waiting for repair or pickup. I could believe that the owner/​employees might sometimes be a bit disorganized so that they can’t always tell you what’s going on with your repair immediately. (I’ve seen other small businesses that are like this – tons of work and only one or two employees/​proprietors.) I would be shocked if they actually couldn’t find something left for repairs.
All I know is that I’ve twice had work done while I waited and have not gotten any sense I was being cheated. I have no relationship with them other than as a customer.
If you’re worried about them losing track of your item and need major work done, I’d suggest getting a written quote and estimated completion date, plus an inventory number if they use them.

I am abnormally attached to my watch and I recently had several issues going on with it, but couldn’t bring myself to mail it to the company for repair. A quick Google led me to this shop and I’m so happy it did.
Service was very friendly and extremely fast – not to mention affordable. If I need any watch or clock repair type services from now on, this is my go-​to.

NEVER EVER take your valuables to this sketchy place. I took two of my watches to them for repair. Over it’s been about two years and they are still in possession of my watches. They have never once bothered to call me with status of repairs. I have called them on several occasions for status, and during my latest call one of the owners of the place told me she «cannot seem to find my watches». This is the worst, most unprofessional business establishment I have ever come across and I will warn all of my family and friends to stay away from this place! How do places like this remain in business?

Worst customer service. Don’t return calls. Still have my clocks and have done nothing with them. This is the most disappointing Unilocal place. Are these reviews real. They must be written by relatives.
I dropped off my clocks with Mr. Lee months ago he said he get back to me later that day. Nothing. I hounded them with calls which they don’t return they still have my clock and have done nothing. I guess I have to drive over and pick it up a total waste of time.

I’ve brought in two vintage watches for post-​purchase overhaul and have been very happy with the quality of both the work and the customer service. During the second of the two overhauls, I stopped in to drop off a replacement GMT hand for the Seiko I was having serviced; upon arrival, I learned that the overhaul was already done, but the tech dropped what he was doing to open up the watch and add the replacement hand while I waited. Fast, easy and friendly service! I’ll definitely be back with future watch repair work.

Awesome! Mr. Lee is great! He fixed my watch in a few minutes, for a very low price! He also recommended a great watch for me to buy for my boyfriend (at a very good cost)! I left with 2 functioning watches in 10 minutes without even having an appointment!

They replaced my watch band and did some customization for me since I wanted to switch clasps

Fast and efficient, no-​nonsense battery watch repair. Cost is $ 10/​battery (slightly higher than I am used to, but reasonable for DC metro area).

Great service and always try their best to do what you need for your watch. They’ve ordered random clasps, etc. for old watches. Very nice.

Dropped my watch, and the back popped off. The inside parts got bent and caught as well, to the point where a person on the street wouldn’t be able to fix it.
Brought it in here, and they told me there was a chance it wouldn’t be fixable. They dropped everything they were doing, and worked hard on my watch and fixed it. I was exstatic!
Then they told me it would only be $ 10! I only had, $ 8 cash on me, so was about to run to Safeway, but they told me to not worry about it, and pay the rest next time I needed anything.
I absolutely recommend this place.

I Called to ask some questions about a Panerai 25 they had listed on Craigslist. The owner «Mr, Lee» got angry and hung up on me. He got Very rude and angry about my, which I think are reasonable questions about the watch. I ask the owner if he had the complete set and thats what triggered him off.

Excellent customer service by Mr. Lee. He is awesome. I would recommend this shop to all!!!

I have an Omega watch that I dropped on the floor and the second hand came loose so it just rattled around in the case. Oh crap. I called Omega and was told that I would have to send it to them for repair and service at a minimum cost of 400 dollars. It was going to take weeks as well. So I took it to Mr. Lee and he fixed it while I waited for 35 bucks. I have sent two friends there and both were very happy. Mr. Lee is a watchmaker and can work on any high-​end brand. Don’t waste your money by sending your Rolex or Omega to the factory service center. Their prices are outrageous. Mr Lee can do the same thing for much cheaper.

I have been to many watch repair shops and not a single one was even close to as quick, high quality, and fairly priced as this shop. He did the repair so quickly that I thought he missed something (but he didn’t) and when he gave me the check, I told him that he had forgotten to charge me for something (but he didn’t). Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

If you’re looking for a good time, you came to the right place. I stopped by to have my husband’s watch band fixed. DeeMarie was so entertaining, I pulled up a chair, sat back and enjoyed the comedy show while she worked on my repair. What a fun, funny lady! I left with a smile on my face, looking forward to the next time one of his watches breaks.
She was done in about five minutes and the charge was $ 5. When I explained that I didn’t bring cash, because I thought I’d have to drop it off, she said the job was on the house! Wow! She said the next time we need a battery or any kind of watch repair to come back and we’d call it even. Talk about fantastic customer service!
They have an exceptional selection of cool vintage watches for sale, I saw several with funky wristbands and cool faces… very retro chic. I was so tempted! They also have a magnificent collection of antique clocks from big to small.
DeeMarie runs the business with her husband. This is a true Mom & Pop shop. I’m glad to call them neighbors.
