This doctor was completely unprofessional and out of line.
I brought my son (5 at the time) in for an exam. My son has special needs, and I was sure to list everything in his new patient forms. To condense the story, WITHOUT NOTICE (to myself or my son) the doctor and assistant suddenly HELD DOWN my son in an attempt to force eye drops into his eyes. The doctor was very aggressive about this. My son, of course, was taken completely off guard, and freaked out. He was terrified! I tried to get the doctor to stop and let go, but he and the assistant just ignored me. After the second or third time of saying firmly «I’m not okay with this!», I finally had to take my son by the hands and pull him into an upright position. I told the doctor to please just give him a minute, to let him take a break and calm down bc he was panicked, screaming, and crying.
The doctor should never take it upon himself to put his hands on anyone’s child to restrain them. Especially a child with special needs! He should have let me know that he needed to put drops in my son’s eyes so that I could have had the opportunity to prepare my son and put comfort measures in place for him.
I was totally disgusted by my son’s experience. It is clearly beyond this man’s scope of practice to be seeing pediatric patients. I will never return to his office, and I would never recommend this doctor to ANYONE– not even adults!
