Roto-Rooter Service & Plumbing

Jose Adam Perez from roto rooter from the Chatsworth office came out with excellent customer service and promptly cleaned out our main drain which was terribly clogged. He gave excellent service.

Essentially I will never call Rotor Rooter again. Plumber came out to fix a burst pipe above my water heater. 3 month warranty. Same pipe burst after the warranty. .I’m not looking for a free repair but I think the job should have lasted longer than 6 months.

Despicable, not a good recommendation. Try someone else.
After having used these people to unclog a drain through a simple clean out (- they would not provide an estimate or a price on the phone. — They claim that the trained expert would have to see the Clean out plug” — obviously not that «trained») before he could provide a quote. When he came he did the job in about 12 minutes and his price was a ridiculous $ 165, but we had to pay it none the less.
The math — 12 minutes at $ 165×5 = $ 825 an hour. More expensive than the most expensive lawyer in town or than a celebrated heart surgeon.
The final straw was today — we have a rental property where our tenant had called RotoRouter to unclog a bathtub drain. After charging him over $ 250! we reimbursed him. A few weeks later the tenant has left and we noticed that the drain is still not working correctly so we called RotRouter to find out exactly why was done. They have record of the work done, they have record of our tenants name and they have record of us being the property owners of record, BUT they will not tell us what was done because we did not call them in the first place. They say it is for security reasons REALLY !!! …hahaha! a DRAIN is a security issue… The tenant has moved country sand we have no option to find out which drain was snaked for $ 250+
I escalated the inquiry and was told that it is not company policy to divulge drain cleaning info even though we are the owners.
It is my policy to not pay money to drain cleaners who believe that they are running a bank,
What a bunch of frickin jokers! Unfortunately they are preying on people who may need a simple plumbing job, charging them by baiting and switching, pressure tactics and thinking that there must be some kind of «specialized» training that these clowns go through.
No Roto Router — you are PLUMBERS. …get it into your heads.
No disrespect to honest plumbing professionals of which there are many.

If I could, this will be a negative review. Extremely poor customer service and dishonest company. We called for an appointment few weeks ago and no response. Kept calling and they said that someone will come yesterday. No show and no call at all. We called again today and were informed that someone will be in touched with us. Gosh, when the plumber called, he said it will cost 200 for back flow test. I was shocked and told him that the same company charged approximately 100 for the same test last year. He said that he can give me a discount for 150, but will not be anything close to 100. Asked him to back off… Never trust them as you will end up wasting time and money…

We had a backed-​up toilet back in March, two weeks after we moved into our new house. Turns out that we needed a huge repair done to the cracked main line to the tune of $ 5,000. They sent over a «slick as owl shit» salesman who pushed and pushed to get my approval to go ahead with the job. I told him I needed to discuss it with my husband, and he pushed me to go ahead and call right then. I mentioned that we had a homeowner’s warranty policy, and he promised that he’d get my money reimbursed from them after the fact. His final tactic was refusing to leave our property without approval because, according to him, a service company can’t walk away from a sewage leak once it’s discovered. Being a first-​time homeowner and not knowing my options, I gave in and they did the work.
We’re still angry over the bullshit tactics this guy used. And by the way, no homeowner’s warranty will reimburse after work is done that they didn’t approve of beforehand — not that the salesman ever returned any of my calls after the work was done.
There’s plenty of service companies that will do decent work for you without being dishonest and lying to you about what’s what. I’m never calling this company again.

Called Roto-​Rooter, thinking they’re a reputable plumber, but it was a miserable experience. He pushed expensive services on me, kept trying to sell me some liquid drain opener, he didn’t screw on the pipes tightly and it was leaking, and I had to tighten it myself after he left, and he tried to clean up his mess with a cleaner on my table, which was the wrong cleaner. $ 200 down the drain, so to speak. Never again.
