Paul Fuentes, DDS

I have been a patient of dr. fuentes for almost ten years and can’t say enough good things about him and the entire staff. I thought to write today after having my usual superb cleaning with Valerie — she is the main reason i have been going there regularly and always will. I see the dr. only occasionally for periodic evaluations, but Valerie cleans my teeth and gums four times a year — it is costly but so worth it. Valerie is kind, thoughtful, and meticulous with my cleaning. Somehow she makes discomfort comfortable. She truly cares, and it shows. I highly recommend her and the entire practice — they are all top notch professionals.

Dr. Fuentes and his team have made me feel comfortable and supported, which is saying a lot for someone who is dental-​phobic! I was referred to his office by Dr. Jacobsen (located in the same building). I was lucky that the day I was referred Jacobsen’s office was giving coupons for free consultations so that saved me approx $ 200. I had been seen by another well known periodontist in the Pasadena area but I was not comfortable with his attitude and chair side manner so I was extremely pleased that Dr. Fuentes is friendly, kind and reassuring. He offers iv sedation which was what I needed to be able to go through the removal of my tooth and do all the prep work for an implant. In all, my procedure included tissue (mine) and bone (cadaver) grafting, removal of the tooth and previous root canal work, laser treatment of bone to stimulate healing and the insertion of the implant «hardware» for lack of the technical term. After the bone graft heals completely — approx 4 months after the surgery — the Dr. will check to see if I am ready for the final crown. If not, I will continue with the temporary «flipper» or retainer until complete healing has occurred. I am tremendously pleased with my progress — I had delayed the removal of a tooth that was causing me lots of pain. Now I am pain-​free!!!
Not only is Dr. Fuentes a great doctor, but his office is beautiful, lots of light and a great view of the mountains. Good free parking is always available.

My husband and I have both had excellent results with this periodontist. Dr. Fuentes is knowledgeable and professional, and follows up carefully with his patients to be sure everything is perfect. I had a bone graft and gum implantation on my upper gums in February and on my lower gums in June. I wish I could find other doctors like him.

I had a gum implantation from Dr. Fuentes. I have to say that he has very good manners and is extremely polite. He’s extremely knowledgeable in what he does. However, I was disappointed in that the first time i had the surgery when I used cadaver tissue that the transplant didn’t work. It wouldn’t have been an issue had I been warned that this was a possibility but he assured me that there weren’t going to be any problems. The surgery finally went well when I used my own tissue which he did free of cost.
In general, I think he does an excellent job, but he does need to entertain the possibility that things don’t work out all the time despite his skills as a dentist.
