Lennox Smith co-​founded Seacliff Environmental and Construction in 2004, and transformed the business to Seacliff Construction and Design in 2013.

Lennox Smith is the founder and owner of Seacliff Construction & Design.

Lennox is a licensed contractor and has worked in construction, residential design, engineering, and facilities design for over 20 years. He has extensive experience and expertise in designing whole home reconfigurations as well as home and business additions and remodels.

He lives in Aptos with his wife Yvonne, daughter Morgen, and son Vinson. An avid musician, he continues to perform with his band RST on a local and national level. The Smith family has resided in the Santa Cruz area for over 25 years.

I cannot recommend Len and his crew at Seacliff Construction & Design enough. They did our bathroom and kitchen and did an amazing job. Living under those sorts of conditions can be a huge pain, plus we have a small child and they kept the construction area clean and organized and completely blocked off the kitchen with a plastic wall. They finished the project early and on budget. We wouldn’t consider working with anyone else on our next project. Thank you again to Len and your entire crew at Seacliff Construction & Design!

Seacliff Construction completed a project for us that has become the focal point of our home. The process was detailed, follow through excellent, and work completed in a timely manner. Len, the owner, was professional and responsive, always getting back to us immediately. Our deck and balcony were built with creative style and environmental conscienousness. All of our neighbors have complimented us on the beautiful difference in the home’s appearance.
We highly recommend Seacliff for all your building and remodeling needs. There isn’t any better!

Seacliff was fantastic when we remodeled our kitchen. We were a bit nervous when we were selecting a contractor becasue the last time, when swe worked with another contractor, we had such a bad experience. Len and his guys were great. On time, quick and quality workers… they finished on schedule (acutally early) and under budget. What really was helpful was how Len asked questions and offered suggestions… he really has an eye for design and what works and doesn’t. He helped us make great choices. The kitchen has been finished now for 3 months and we love it more every day.

My husband and I can’t say enough fantastic things about Len and his crew. Our kitchen is exactly what we wanted, and we are thrilled.
From the very beginning, Len listened to what we wanted and designed a kitchen with all of our needs in mind. He was responsive to any changes we wanted, and was easy to work with. He replied to almost all of our emails within hours. The personal attention was impressive.
When it came to the actual construction, the crew was efficient and clean. They never stalled or made excuses. The house was also in good condition each day we came home.
So many people share nightmare stories about their remodel projects, and our experience has been quite the opposite.
Because any remodel can be stressful, do yourself a favor and hire this company. It will make the process enjoyable and painless.

Our kitchen was already well used when we bought our house 10 years ago, and it had many problems, including cabinets that were too high to reach. We heard about Seacliff Construction & Design from friends, and liked what we saw when we checked the website and Unilocal reviews.
After meeting with Lennox, we could clearly see he knew what we wanted. We already had plans in hand, and had made many design choices, but he was able to understand our vision and help us make some smart adjustments. We felt confident enough to head out of the country for a three week summer vacation and leave Lennox and his team to handle our remodel. Lennox kept everything organized and on time. Even after they were officially done, they returned to touch up minor things and make everything perfect. Seacliff Construction & Design did so well, we plan to have them remodel our two bathrooms next!

My husband and I just recently had our bathroom remodeled by Seacliff Construction and Design and we had a great experience working with them! Once we decided to do this remodel we met with a couple of different contractors that we had found on Unilocal.Lennox spent over an hour with us going over all of the different possibilities. He was very friendly and helpful and we felt comfortable with him right away. In addition his estimate for the remodel was the most reasonable. It took about 2 and ½ weeks to complete the construction and we are thrilled with the outcome. We spoke with Lennox and met him with him several times throughout the process and he was always very kind, helpful and patient. I would definitely recommend Lennox and his crew! They were all very professional and great to work with!

We LOVE Seacliff Construction & Design. What an incredible company! My husband and I were in dire need of plumbing, bathroom updating, cabinet resurfacing, and kitchen installations to get our house ready to list on the market. Lennox Smith was able and willing to make the time for our relatively small (for them) but gigantically important (to us!) project right when we needed him. His crew is incredibly thoughtful and professional and we saw them make careful, smart decisions throughout their time at our house. The crew used their time efficiently and worked hard to make sure they got as much done in the course of a day as possible (which is NOT always the approach in this industry). I would hire Seacliff again in a heartbeat and feel confident recommending them to anyone in need of construction and design work — be it on a totally new home, remodel, or individual project basis. They have the smarts, professionalism, and experience to tackle it all and the results are fantastic. I think Len has built a company that is as good as they come.

We have remodeled two homes. Both times we relied on a contractor to help with design and to make sure our ideas would work. This most recent remodel involved gutting the inside of the house and starting over. We needed a contractor that could go above and beyond due to time constraints. After searching we decided to use Seacliff Construction and Design based on the positive reviews regarding their work.
Lennox Smith exceeded our expectations. Not only was he able meet our timetable but his input into the interior design was invaluable. Having a basic idea of what we wanted he helped us to finalize our selections so that the end result is now a home of our dreams. His estimates were dead on and as little adjustments had to be made due to unforeseen issues he made sure we knew what was happening and what the costs would be.
The entire crew was efficient, courteous, and worked hard to pull everything together so that we could move in on the date we had planned. Since our remodel involved several sub contractors, it was impressive to see Len co-​ordinate all of them to make all the pieces fit.

I am in the process of buying a home that needs some work and feel very fortunate I found Lennox. He came out to give me an estimate, and I could tell right away I found a good contractor and a good guy to help us. I am in a bit of a time crunch and needed the estimate soon and Len had it to me the next day. He spent a good amount of time checking things out and explaining what he would do to repair the problem and the solution he came up with is brilliant. I know it’s early since I have only had the estimate but I can tell I already like the way Len works and the way he runs his business! Great service so far, Thanks Len!

I am writing to express my pleasure and very positive thoughts about Seacliff Construction. Lennox Smith, Seth Bragg, Scott Faulk and every one else on their staff are not only outstanding at their trade, they are artists. We just completed a major remodel involving every room in our house, inside and out, as well as the exterior hard scape. My thoughts on the project were vague, except for the structural renderings done by my architect. My wife and I will retire in this house and I wanted to be an active participant in its design and finish work. Fortunately, Lennox Smith is an expert both in design as well as construction. At each decision point he presented me with ideas and options that I had not considered. He accompanied me to pick everything that can be seen: siding, windows, roof, granite, stone, light fixtures, sinks, tubs, plumbing fixtures, appliances, doors, flooring, carpeting, etc. Our taste was very similar and it was very reassuring to have him there while these choices were made. The house is so much better than I imagined having had Len’s guidance and suggestions. They did an absolutely beautiful job.
All the above is important, but the best part is that it was fun to do. These guys took care of everything. They take pride in everything they do. Their honesty and integrity is written all over the house. The honesty and integrity is also seen in the pricing. Len documents everything very clearly and was very financially kind with my last minute changes. I hope you choose this company. You’ll be very happy you did.

Seaside was our top choice for a bathroom remodel, requiring complete updating but also a structural change in the roof. The contractor, Lennox Smith, competently led a skilled team including a structural engineer and specialists in tile, wood, and glass. We were exceedingly happy with their workmanship, reliability/​professionalism, persistence in working with city planning, and dedication to keeping our project within the budgeted amount. We were out of the state when the remodeling took place. However, we never worried about the care taken by Seaside, and our trust was well placed. We recommend Seacliff without reservations.

Our home had been through 4 separate contractors working on various projects before we were introduced to Seacliff Environmental Services and Construction in 2005. My wife and I could immediately see a difference. The Seacliff Environmental staff was knowledgeable beyond any other contractor services we used before. Our design plans were well thought out and detailed by the expertise of Lennox Smith. He designed projects that were within our budget and scope. He patiently guided us with the eye of an architect and precision of an engineer. His team arrived daily on time as well as being very courteous to my wife and children. They were excellent at making sure they cleaned up at the end of their day. Lennox has always followed up after the completion of each project to ensure our satisfaction. That is why we will continue to use them for our needs. The next project on our kitchen will be completed this Spring by no one other than Seacliff Environmental Services and Construction.

2012-​Seacliff Environmental Services & Construction did a terrific job of renovating our guest bathroom. Lennox Smith was great to work with, understood our expectations and offered suggestions. Len and Scott Faulk were professional, knowledgeable, respectful of our property, and focused on our project and desires. To say the least, it was gratifying and fun working with them. The work was completed within the planned schedule and our budget. Seacliff was very attentive in protecting our home. They communicated with us daily about the work. We are extremely pleased with the work performed. We highly recommend them and will use them for future work.
2015-​We contacted Seacliff Construction & Design to renovate our laundry room. It was terrific working with Len again. He understood our objective and offered some suggestions. We received appropriate verbal and written communications, keeping us apprised of the status of our project. His employees were all pleasant and careful to protect our home and minimize the dust and inconvenience. The employees on-​site updated us each day on the status and what they expected to do next. He coordinated his work with others, including our painter. It was a pleasure working with Len and his employees. The work was completed within the planned schedule (actually a few days earlier than expected) and our budget. As stated with our previous project, we definitely recommend Seacliff Construction and will contact them for any future work.

My husband and I hired Seacliff Environmental Services and Construction to do some remodeling on our townhouse. We thought the project was only going to be cosmetic (paint, flooring) but problems were found in the bathrooms (rotted out sub-​flooring and wall studs). Seacliff worked with us to keep costs down by finding excellent materials at very reasonable prices and by making recommendations that gave a lot of bang for the buck. They are very professional and do outstanding work. They stand by their work and are reliable, honest and affordable.
