Holiday Inn Appleton

PS I found the coffee pot. was on top of the fridge! I was expecting it to be in the bathroom, that’s where most hotels keep theirs. I just wasn’t awake enough to see it, this hotel is great and the staff go above and beyond! Thank You for a great stay!

I stayed at the holiday Inn while attending a convention. I was pleasantly surprised as holiday inn seems to have a somewhat outdated vibe attached to its name. However, the place was really pretty nice.
I had a king size bed with a couch and desk, but no frig. This was fine as I didn’t need one. I was a little worried as I was close to the ice machine and the elevator, but it was nice and quiet. It was clean and the pillows were ok– though I hate foamy pillows. It was passable.
There was no continental breakfast but the dining area has a buffet and a menu and I must say — decent coffee. I had a nice breakfast both mornings. I also had a drink at the bar one night, and that was also pleasant. We had waitress service and she was great.
I appreciated the location as being very close to the excellent shopping in Appleton, and had over all a pleasant stay.
I would stay here again if I needed a room in the fox valley.

The hotel is very clean which is always a good thing. The pool area can get a little loud but the hot tub is quite large. The parking lot is pretty narrow and tight but there are a lot of spots and it’s right off the highway. Super slow elevators and there is only one set for the entire hotel including staff use. The event space and entire staff were great. The catered dinner for the event was served family style and was delicious. I do wish that the sliding doors that serve as the windows in the rooms opened a little bit (yes I know it’s for safety) but there was no way to get fresh air and with the forced air heat/​ac it can get a little stuffy.

Only reason it’s not getting 5 stars is because of the breakfast! That was not worth the money, they offer a buffet but it has only a couple things and it all tasted gross. BUT other then that we loved this hotel! The room was large, nice and cold very clean nice TV they have room service a good time for check out and literally a Hop and a skip from outback and other restaurants. The mall is right down the street. Honestly this location is great! The pool is 24 hours which is awesome but it’s pretty cold. The whirlpool I was really nice. Overall very excited to come back to this hotel!

I really enjoyed staying here. Great room, super rate. The room itself was large and clean. We booked a king room and ended up at the end of the hall. Room was huge!!! Double the size of our daughters Dorm room we had just moved her into.
The bed was firm, the sheets clean and fresh. The shower was clean and actually had awesome water pressure. (Only problem was when a water main blew out very early in the morning so we had no water from 4:30 am to about 6ish. No big deal as we were sleeping in anyway.)
The staff was friendly and helpful. Location was superb. Right off the expressway and not that far from plenty of places to eat/​do. I did not use the pool myself but it looked good. Hot tub was great according to my wife. They also have a very nice courtyard to use. It was very warm and humid the day we were there, so we did not partake, but it looked relaxing. Had it not been so tropical that day, we would have been out there with drinks for sure.
Overall, I would recommend this Holiday Inn without hesitation. Look forward to coming back again.

Seriously, the best Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in!
The breakfast buffet is where it’s at. They have amazing bacon (maybe that’s a regional thing, I’ve had a lot of bacon up here). Many fresh fruit options and really good coffee. Service is always fantastic. There is a separate dining area for the Fire Fighters with the look of a firehouse. The sight in the lobby of the firemen awaiting to go to the Pierce plant is also very nice!
The rooms are good, not great. My coworkers always complain about the strange short shower heads. At 5’3′, this isn’t a problem for me. I’ve had some extreme inconsistencies in the style and updates of the rooms. Some are nicely decorated, larger, and or with a refrigerator. Others are tiny and with no food storage options.
I’ve considered this Holiday Inn my second home for many weeks this spring and summer. However, the staff does not seem to realize. I’ve checked out and rechecked in the next day, and they give me the same talk. elevators over here, breakfast starts at 6, here is the internet password, etc. Seriously. You have given me this speech 6 x in the last couple of weeks. KNOW YOUR CLIENTS PEOPLE.

This is the 3^rd time we have stayed at this hotel while visiting family. The first two times it was very clean and no issues. This time we stayed in a king room. It was nice, the bedroom area was clean. The mattress was horrible. We took two extra pillows and put them under the top of the mattress. Otherwise your head hung way below your feet! The room could use updating, especially the bathroom. Housekeeping forgot to clean part of the shower. There were half used shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower and the faucet in the shower had a ton of mold under it. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Also needs to be plugs by the beds for charging phones.

This place is like any other Holiday Inn that you may have been to. Clean place, clean sheets, but really nothing out of the ordinary. Staff is great here but beyond that not really a memorable place.
Although if you were looking for a reliable clean and safe place to stay this would be a great choice for you.

Clean spacious rooms.
Had an experience with one of the front desk employees that left much to be desired. Snappy and rude.
No place near the bed to plug in chargers. They need the lamps with plugs on them.
Weird shower head. I’m only 5′ 7″ and I had to bend to get my head under the water to wash my hair. Very uncomfortable. Can’t imagine a person who’s tall. Or a man. :/​
We had sooo much trouble with the wifi. Having reliable internet is almost a deal breaker in a hotel. Nothing would load. Very frustrating. We stayed three nights and the internet reception never improved. We were in room 415.
If you stay here, and you need wifi, request a room close to an internet router.

The building was built with illegal funds when I was a kid and stood empty for a long time. Holiday Inn bought it and has had it in use for quite a while. Many of the quirks others complain about are from the old design. staying on the executive level with my kiddo to visit family in the area. It is a tad pricy but not bad overall.

This hotel needs a revamp big time. It’s old and not updated.
The staff is polite and sometimes you get a gift basket which is cool. Food is ok at best.
Hotel please buy new pillows. Yours are really, really bad! And mattresses are crap, too. Also get plugs near the bed ! We all charge our phones and use as alarms !

Nice enough as typical hotels go. Bedding was comfortable, bathroom a little crowded since the door was at an angle to accommodate a closet. Second stay there, we had TV problems but they seemed to resolve themselves with a little giggling of the wires. Breakfast was adequate but the wait staff seemed bothered that we were there. First time there, we got up for the breakfast buffet and they gave our table away. We eventually found where they put our beverages. The front desk was friendly. I especially liked the special dining room for the firefighters there to visit Pierce Mfg. It was a great tribute to these brave men and women. I appreciated the free shuttle to the mall. The wait staff was more friendly with later visits when I stopped in to talk about our stay. I was a bit concerned when I got ice for the cooler and there were black pieces of who-​knows-​what on the ice. Made me think of Robert Irvine and Restaurant Impossible cleaning out ice bins. Yuck. Still happy to stay there for future visits.

Grungy, outdated bathroom, with an awkward shower head that left me crouched uncomfortably while I washed my hair. Pillows were past their prime. I’m in Appleton a lot, so I’ll keep trying other hotels in the area.

The bed in my room was not updated as most HI hotels are. A little dated, but convenient.

Faux-​swanky, the Holiday Inn was a comfortable stay for a quick trip to Appleton for the High Cliff Half Ironman/​Sprint Triathalon.
My friend and I didn’t get to the hotel until about midnight, but the front desk had our key ready to go (the couple we were sharing the room with had already checked in earlier that night).
The beds were comfy and offered linens that were a step up from the usual mid-​range chain floral duvet that never gets washed and limp pillows. The beds also had a really handy shelf-​style headboard, perfect for putting my phone on since I wasn’t next to the nightstand.
The only downside of the room was in the bathroom. The vent over the sink looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in twenty years, and the shower ceiling was abnormally low. I’m only 5’4″ and I bumped my hands on the ceiling a few times while reaching to wash my hair. I would imagine someone 6′ or taller would need to slouch.
These are minor complaints, though, and maybe we got the one freakish bathroom in the place. I’d stay there again.
