Egg rolls are Not good, with the name thats the least they could do. Rice taste like no other I have had, not horrible, not really like normal rice. Lo mien wasn’t good either, Potstickers where not bad. But come on, try harder when your named after something

I’m on the hunt for Chinese take out and completely new to the area(from the PNW). I drive down the 42 and scan to my right and see a Wendy’s and then I see«Egg Roll King». I think to myself, «Hmmm…I must try the King of Egg Rolls». And it’s time for dinner. So my first impression. Standard walk-up order at the counter place. Great people behind the counter and in the kitchen. I order egg rolls, beef lo mein(auto correct wants to spell lo me in~), and sweet and sour pork. My Asian mother is a great cook, so I’m always a bit leery of Chinese take-out that caters to «Americans». My second impression. The quantity is huge — bang for the buck. Egg rolls — glad to see they are not chimichanga style — and actually taste like the one’s I grew up eating. Nice balance of spice in the pork filling. Flaky and not too greasy wrap. The beef lo me in is good. The meat is not flavorless dry and pounded to death cardboard style, it actually is tender and has nice flavor and texture. I like it. Not to mention the quantity again. It’s enough for leftovers. My opinion is that the noodles are a little overcooked(like food court style), so may be subject to breakage and clumping. The sweet & sour sauce comes in a separate container from the breaded pork. No pineapples, classic Cantonese style… I think. The sauce is a good balance of sweet and sour. The pork is not over breaded and you don’t get random bits of fat and gristle(I hate that!). Good go-to dish. Keep in mind, this is take-out, so if you’re hungry this is a great place to get it. But it is take-out so heavier on the sauce, salt and possibly MSG(not sure, I don’t see a no MSG sign). MSG doesn’t bother me… so I’m not so careful about that. I know people who are allergic though, so always be careful with Asian fare. So far, the name rings true — Egg Roll King has great egg rolls!

I got sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. The picture on their website looked wonderful and showed onions and ect in it. When I got it, it was only chicken with sauce poorly thrown over some. It tasted awful. The fried rice tasted like they just added soy sauce to white rice. Never going here again.

Combo plate was terrible!!! What they call lo mein is nothing but old, overcooked spaghetti noodles stuck together in a giant, tasteless clump taking up almost the whole plate! The so-called entrée had exactly 3 pieces of chicken covered in a soggy batter smothered in onions. Do not eat here. Ever.

I’ve been here multiple times and can not for the life of me realize why they are called Egg Roll King. Of all the items I have tried on the menu, the egg rolls are my least favorite. You would think that would be their specialty… At any rate, the rest of the food I have tried was good. They have combination plate meals which are always the standard Chinese restaurant quality. Nothing to write home about, but not bad at all. One of the odder things about eating here is the smell. For better or worse, this store is situated next to a Cold Stone Creamery which makes Egg Roll King smell like ice cream. Not the usual aromas you encounter in a Chinese restaurant(not that I am complaining).
