I sometimes make a trip from Cary to the Ben & Jerry’s on Hillsborough St because I don’t mind the drive for really good ice cream. After a walk around Lake Pine last week-​end, we stopped in at Brewster’s. It is great to find a product this good, right at home! Bye-​bye B & J. Quick, friendly service too.

Could there be a more perfect food than ice cream? Well … heck yes!
But at the time you’re eating it, it’s perfect. So that counts. Brusters has a good selection, they let you sample before you buy, and in general have everything expected in a traditional ice cream shop.
There’s about two dozen flavors that include sorbet, sugar free, yogurt, Italian ice and sherbet. Get a plain cone, waffle cone, cake cone, or get a cup, add some mix-​ins even. It’ll taste good.
If you’ve been to the Brusters in north Raleigh, then you already know what to expect. If you’ve never been there, then this will be a treat.
I think its overpriced ice cream, but it’s far less tempting than having a freezer full of ice cream for those midnight cravings. Here you have to work to get it – get dressed, grab the keys, drive, get out, see the world, interact with real people… You know what I mean. It’s a small price to pay overall.
Still tempted to eat too much of it? Not to worry … Brusters is conveniently located next door to a weight loss clinic. That might be the impetus to keep you from over-​indulging.
