Workantile

I work here a couple times a week.
I was drifting into depression working everyday from the second bedroom of my apartment; I can legitimately say that Workantile changed my life.
Ann Arbor-​area freelancers, grad students, and remote workers should seriously consider a trial membership. The people are friendly, the space is pleasant, and I think my productivity has approximately tripled.

It’s easy for me to imagine what my life would be like without Workantile, Ann Arbor’s co-​working space. I worked for years in Chicago at home or out of coffee shops. I dealt with all of the problems that home workers encounter. It was hard to work at home because of all of the distractions and chores waiting around the corner. It was just as hard at the coffee shop, lugging my laptop into the bathroom so people wouldn’t steal my stuff, trying to have an important business call while the barista is whipping up a tasty, but incredibly loud, espresso, and competing with other customers for that valuable table space.
When I moved to A2, I knew I wanted something different, and thankfully I happened upon Workantile. This is the perfect place for home workers (like me), freelancers, writers, and other independent workers. It gives me a place to get away from the distractions of home. It gives me quiet rooms to make phone calls and have meetings. And, although this wasn’t a reason I joined, one of the most important benefits became evident after a few weeks at Workantile. The community here is awesome. Workantile is full of bright, funny, and interesting people, who are always willing to strike up a conversation or lend a hand if you need some advice on a particular subject. We have social lunches every Thursday, which is a great way to take a break and meet new people. So, you see, the social aspect of Workantile that wasn’t even on my radar when I walked in the door quickly became the #1 reason it is so invaluable to me.
One last reason why Workantile is awesome. It’s affordable. I couldn’t join co-​working spaces in Chicago that *started* at $ 300/​month, but I can afford Workantile. Look around at rates for other co-​working sites across the nation, and you’ll find Workantile is very reasonable.

This place is legit and conveniently located in the heart of downtown. There is a coffee place that is sort of attached to the workspace which is great on a rainy day when you don’t want to leave the building for your caffeine fix!
