When they just started, they were giving off coupon for $ 5 off, and free cookie with any purchase. Definitely great deal with the coupon.
They surely make vegan dishes very taste. I ordered Bibimbap with tofu and brown rice. It’s rich in flavor, and you don’t feel unsatisfied due to the lack of meat. It’s fun to try vegan food sometime even I definitely love meat. If you like tofu, you will like this place, as tofu is the most frequently used substitute for protein in vegan place. I’m surprised the vegan cookie can be very flavorful too. It doesn’t taste like vegan.
I tried their salad at another time. It’s pretty nice too. I wish they can open during weekend.

A vegan restaurant seemed like a risky bet here since it likely puts off many potential customers, and these seem to have been in short supply in this locale, considering this is the third café I’ve seen in this space in 10 years. But, based on my single visit, I’d say it’s got a fair chance of a longer run than its predecessors.
I ordered the tempeh reuben salad. Couldn’t ask for fresher vegetables, and while it came with a very small portion of the housemade Russian dressing, that had plenty of tang to season the large bowl of greenery. The tempeh itself would never pass for corned beef (which I’m quite familiar with, not being vegan myself), but it had a saltiness which stood out pleasantly against the slightly sweet dressing.
I have a feeling I’ll be looking back fondly on this place when eating salads elsewhere.

The atmosphere is fun. You can see them preparing/​cooking your food so you know they aren’t doing anything funky! Overall great quality food.

I can’t believe this has been around for over a year and I have been missing out on the delicious vegan food! I am so happy to have found it and plan to make up for lost time. I had the wheat biscuit breakfast sandwich with avocado, tofu, tomato and bacon flavored coconut bits. The biscuit was fantastic and the freshness of the vegetables made it an awesome sandwich. The desserts are wonderful, too! I believe you can get espresso drinks as well as teas. Check it out!

I had the tempeh Reuben — too salty, not much tempeh and just not very good. Based on the other reviews, maybe some of the other options are much better. The service was very good.

I was pleasantly surprised.
This is a vegan restaurant, and I’m a die-​hard carnivore. However, it works. It works very well. I had the Billie Jean Biscuit with avocado.
My lunch companion got the everything bagel, and I don’t think we said much, we were too busy enjoying the food. The natural soda is pretty stellar as well (I got the root beer).
I’m pleasantly surprised. Very, very good fare. I’ll be back.

This place is a gem on my list! They’re not as health conscious as a place like Juicy Kitchen but they have a prominent talent in culinary and you can see the passion they have to make good vegan food. 2 thumbs up for ambition and talent! Great food!

I love vegetarian bi bim bap, so I made a special trip to try theirs. Unfortunately I found it lacking. Some of the vegetables were completely uncooked making them overly chewy. And their sauce had a bit too much sour flavor for my liking.

Awesome second location with similar menu items and different menu items than their other. Bakery items are always delicious. Staff is awesome and does a great job. Breakfast and lunch never disappoint!

Went there for the first time saturday at noon– the ambience can’t be beat– two giant walls of window facing greens; the place has a few booths, some lunch room benches/​tables and a few tables for twos. Kudos for not playing obnoxious music.
I had the bim-​bam-​bop. The sauce that went with was a bit much, so I would recommend using only half of the amount supplied. The tofu was savory and the greens were great. Not sure about the purple cabbage; it was raw, just didn’t go with the dish. the amount was just enough to satisfy; the only down side is being a vegan place, it’s missing a sunny-​side-​up.
Beau had the chick-​pea tuna sandwich; tasted like regular tuna sandwich.
Good snack place for vegan lover.

Yay for the new location!!! I’m a huge fan of the kerrytown Lunch Room, it’s so nice to have another more accessible option.
Service is wonderful and it’s nice to have parking and more seating.
I ordered the hangover bagel and the loaded hash towns and both were amazing!

This place is a real hidden gem on north campus! As a student living nearby, I’ve been eating here a lot since its opening.
The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious, fresh, and vegetarian/​vegan-​friendly.
The bagel breakfast sandwiches are available all day, and I am a huge fan of the beet bagel sandwich, which I’ve had twice now. The tower toast w/​peanut butter was also super tasty (real thick, like Texas style) and good for a breakfast to-​go.
Perhaps the most filling item for the cost is the super hefty bean burrito, which comes full size and with the works: avocado, salsa, cashew sour cream.
For lunch, I’ve also enjoyed the falafel salad and corn chowder.
Their baked goods seems to rotate on a daily basis. The cookies are tasty but too pricey for the size, and strawberries & cream brioche was good but not particularly unique. My favorite baked goods so far have been the shortbreads slices: I’ve tried the pistachio shortbread with chocolate and the lavender shortbread and loved them both.
They also offer limited amounts of fresh focaccia and baguettes daily! I haven’t had a chance to try the baguettes but the focaccia went perfect with some pesto spread I had at home.
Lastly, they serve Mighty Good coffee and TeaHaus tea, two of my favorite local businesses. I’ve enjoyed ordering a teapot to enjoy with a friend.

The Lunch Room Bakery & Café is the newly-​opened «branch» of the original vegan sensation in Kerrytown. This is where all their baked goods are now produced, although they also serve a number of grilled sandwiches, soups, salads, and grab-​and-​go items. The menu includes some popular items from the Kerrytown restaurant (bagel sandwiches, tempeh reuben) adapted to panini press instead of flat-​top grill, but there are some new concoctions unique to this location.
From the breakfast menu (served all day), the «tower toast» was very good (thick slice of bread, buttered and grilled, with a light sugar/​cinnamon coating). However, not sure it was worth the extra buck to get a tiny dollop of agave syrup on the side. Beet bagel sandwich was flavorful, but either undersized or overpriced. As one would expect of a bakery, there’s a diverse rotating variety of vegan sweets, as well as a few savory options like focaccia.
For lunch (starting 11am), the «tuna» (chickpea) melt was superb, and I look forward to trying some other selections. Chickpea salad and lentil soup were fine, but for Mediterranean/​Middle-​Eastern fare, I think I’ll stick to the plethora of «authentic» options in the area. Their menu is still expanding/​evolving, so I’m sure things will improve as they become more established.
The space is very charming, and the big windows make it feel very airy and bright. Mix of small tables and long, as well as some booths. Free wifi. Very friendly staff (familiar faces from Kerrytown, plus some new ones). Been pretty quiet during my visits thus far, which is not too surprising given that it’s been open for less than a month and is in a rather tucked-​away spot. Undoubtedly business will pick up as word spreads about this hidden gem.

This is a new place. My husband and I were at the Ann Arbor VA and decided to try this out. Best decision ever! The restaurant is bright and cheery the staff very eager to explain the menu and friendly as can be. We had the Vegan grilled tuna sandwich which is made with chicpeas! Awesome tastes just like tuna. And for dessert we had the oatmeal whoopie pie and a fudge brownie. YUM
