Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel

This is the best hotel in Ann Arbor. Great friendly staff always helpful. Concierge Amy is very knowledgeable with the area. She made us beautiful reservation for dinner my wife and I couldn’t have had a nicer stay. Thanks Sheraton staff for making us feel that we were home away from home

Very nice hotel all the employees I encountered were very friendly and professional. Beds were extremely comfortable. Really enjoyed the breakfast buffet with homemade omelets and fresh sliced tomatoes on the buffet bar

This is a perfectly reasonable hotel in the middle of an industrial park next to a mall. I would never come here for some exotic getaway but I stay here for work all the time and it’s perfect for that.
Clean rooms, nice staff, free WiFi, free gym, pool, lots of parking, EV chargers, solid bar and ok food. Top floor has a guest room with free breakfast and free Hors d’oeuvres for an extra 20 a night or so — I think it is worth it if you are stuck here solo it has a espresso machine that saves lives. Bathrooms are a little small but well appointed, and the beds are very comfy.
I have spent a few weeks here and I keep coming back as it does what it does well.

I stayed at the Sheraton Ann Arbor for a wedding this past June. First off, I was jerked around when trying to reserve a room. They gave me higher rates than were necessary and after doing some digging online I got them to drop it to an appropriate price. Realistically, the price is too much for what you get.
About a week after the wedding I realized I had left my suit jacket hanging up in a closet. I called the Sheraton, told them my situation, and they forwarded me to house keeping. I left a message describing the jacket, my phone number, and email to be contacted. I never heard back and repeated the process a week or two later, same outcome (I have the phone records to prove it). This continued for half of a year when my patience grew thin and explained I needed to talk to a manager of some sort. Again I had to leave a voicemail with all of my information. That specific person never returned my call and instead I received the following email from head of housekeeping
«I am sorry that we do not have your suit coat and the fact that it took so long for someone to return your call. I am fairly new here so I hope in the future that you will stay with us again. I do hold lost and found for 3 months. I went through everything in hopes that I may have it but unfortunately we do not. Again I am sorry for your delayed call from us.»
This response felt very insincere and lacked any true accountability. If I had actually received a call back I could have my suit jacket instead of losing an expensive and brand new suit. Needless to say, I don’t ever care to stay at another Sheraton.

It’s a beautiful, super clean hotel and the people who work there seem fine and competent over all, that being said, the front desk guy gave my bassist the key to my room — he walked in on me carrying his string bass and a bunch of luggage. I am a fragile little thing and he could have killed me with that door but neither of us had any idea that we were both inches away from one another. Bobby, our bassist, looked as shocked as I was and he marched back to front desk and got a new key. for his correct room but no apology — I don’t get it. Horrible wifi — didn’t work the whole time we were there. And the maids? She knocked four tines even w the DO NOT DISTURB sign out and we had a late check out. Weird. The good things: big room. Very clean. Flat screen TV. Fridge and microwave in every room. Lots of parking. Beautiful pool. Nice little bar and lobby area. But the key thing was just weird. I wrote the names down of everyone in the band — next to their room #. I don’t know how I could have been more specific. Good thing he wasn’t a stranger walking into our room!

Worst customer service imaginable! Called ahead and paid and then had to wait 4 hours for the original Booker to arrive. DONT STAY HERE!

The phone number on their website brings you to a off-​location reservation service which apparently does not communicate with the hotel’s actual location or their staff. When I called to confirm that my hotel room had been paid for, the lady from the answering service (who was not very bright) assured me that my room had already been paid for. When I arrived for my reservation I found out this was not the case. The gentleman at the front desk did offer to discount the room $ 30 but $ 99 is still more than the $ 0 we had anticipated.
To top it off when my friend arrived in her room, it hadn’t been cleaned yet. The bed was not made and there was even a note from the previous guests for the maids with a tip.

If I ever live Groundhog Day, I’m convinced this will be the location. Thanks to my work life, I’ve now stayed here enough times that I could draw the faces of every member of the breakfast staff from memory.
It’s a fine hotel on all counts. Good beds, contemporary décor, decent workout room. The Internet is free, but the wireless is not very reliable. (In most rooms, you’re better off plugging your laptop into the cable.) The location is a very bland corporate park by a mall and a freeway. God Bless America.
A highlight: all rooms come with a nice big empty refrigerator. (I like to pick up a couple beers from the World Market, which is just across Eisenhower.)
The breakfast buffet is pretty good, although by the time I’m having it for the third day in a row, I’m ready for home cooking. I recommend the made-​to-​order omelet. If you’re lucky, it will be made by the always-​morose-​looking guy, who can toss an egg much better than he can stifle a grimace. (The wait staff is great too. Like clockwork, they will smile as they take my breakfast coupon and then absentmindedly ask me 5 minutes later whether I have already given them the coupon.)
In short, a very comfortable place to stay, but not so comfortable that you won’t be glad when it’s time to go home.

Nice hotel, great room with really comfortable bed. Very good for the price Sunday brunch — $ 15 for all you can eat shrimp, steak, omelettes, etc. The 20% gratuity is a little odd for a brunch service though, although I’m not complaining, overall the price was a good value.
Not so great, no free coffee in the lobby in the a.m. which seems odd for Sheraton. Yes, there was coffee in the room but no cream and I need cream, plus what if you want a refill you only have one of those little packets per day! I don’t think hotels can count on the cleaning staff properly stocking the room correctly either. Heads up on that Sheraton it’s the details that matter.

Please don’t review this buWent to Ann Arbor, MI about two weeks ago on my company’s dime and this was the hotel they chose. Apparently it was very recently renovated and only a short drive from the «Big House» where my company was sponsoring a Hack-​A-​Thon event. I only have positive things to say about this Sheraton.
My room was a double bed king suite (and I was staying in it alone… I totally slept on both beds for the 3 days I stood there) and it was meticulously clean, insanely comfortable and the front desk staff were fantastic once I realized I had either lost or forgotten my little 3 oz. tube of toothpaste.
I also got to spend some time at the hotel bar. It’s not as plush obviously as a New York hotel bar would be (hey! We’re spoiled ova heyaa!) but it got the job done as far as their (albeit limited) but not so bad beer selection… although since I wasn’t paying I never went for the beer. Instead I went straight to my good friends Grey Goose and Bacardi — those guys never fail me {3.
Bartender Marc was an absolute sweetheart and he was great at crafting creative cocktails for my coworker and I. On our last day one of the female bartenders who’s name I didn’t get made us hot chocolates with 2 shots of Bailey’s, whipped cream and chocolate syrup drizzle… it was just what my ailing throat at the time needed. It’s what I need NOW and thankfully at this current time my strep throat is over, lol.
Room service here was fantastic — my bed was always made, the bathroom was always stocked with things that bathrooms should be stocked with, I always had new towels — good stuff all around. I ordered breakfast here each morning and it was always the same — their eggs benedict with a side of link sausages.
The sausages were surprisingly quality, the eggs benedict came complete with Canadian bacon and seasoned roasted potatoes was above average for room service, however I did note that their English muffins were pretty thicker than they should have been and completely devoid of any nooks and crannies… but I assume they’re made in-​house and who can fault that?
They were still tasty, properly toasted and buttered. YUM. I also shared an order of room serviced Cajun seasoned scallops and jumbo shrimp with my boss who stood in a room across for me — also surprisingly delicious. Good job Sheraton chefs! YUM!
Should I ever have the opportunity to visit Michigan here or know anyone travelling here I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. Oh, and I realized I lied in the beginning of this review, I don’t only have positive things to say about the Sheraton… there was only one negative… the WIFI here is dreadfully unreliable, don’t even think about getting work done here.
If you really need internet connection… at least they have a complimentary work station/​computer terminal thing near the hotel bar for emergencies should your smartphone not suffice. Still, my stay here was fantastic and their embarrassingly bad WIFI signal (no one in my company could latch on or get anything to load if they did so this wasn’t exclusively a ‘me’ thing) wasn’t enough for me to dock a star — thanks for the fantastic service, Sheraton! 5 happy stars!

A-​OK, indeed, Sheraton Ann Arbor. Per many a contact in the Detroit area, Ann Arbor has a hotel problem. It’s a little odd (considering the vast size of the university area) that most of the Ann Arbor hotels are situated right off the highway near, well, very little. But that’s a different story for a different day.
I only stayed here one night and it was more than fine. The room was extra clean, the staff very friendly and on top of things (cab waiting for me precisely when I asked) and the price was right. Additionally, there seems to have been quite a bit of remodel work downstairs as the lobby and fitness area looked pretty on point.
Parking looks to be pretty tight around this area, so keep that in mind if you’re driving in. Otherwise this is a solid place to get some work done (free, stable Wi-​Fi), take a snooze and recharge.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Sheraton a few weekends ago, and I can’t think of one thing that would have made it a better stay.
We both worked remotely from the room, and the wifi was just fine for that task. Bonus points for the hotel including an ethernet cable as well for those who need to be wired in. The desk chair even felt like *gasp* a desk chair instead of a tight, stiff fancy chair no one can work in comfortably. It was just fine for our needs.
We enjoyed room service every morning. The breakfast food was as good as any restaurant, really.
The bed, pillows, linens, and furnishings were pretty fantastic. I loved having the convenience of a power outlet on the side of the nightstand right where I needed it. Little touches like that are appreciated. Also, thanks, Sheraton, for not filling the fridge with expensive and silly drinks. We actually *use* hotel fridges. Good on ya.
I think the only tiny complaints I have are: The shower head was not adjustable, and it felt more like rain water than a nice, relaxing blast I come to expect from great hotels like this; There was a lack of sound barriers between the shower/​toilet portion of the bathroom and the adjoining hotel rooms. I hope you’re not shy! But hotels are often like this, and I don’t judge them too harshly.

Wow — great food, and service for an all day event. Perfect facility to host such a large group. Has a separate entrance for the event, which was nice. Only downside is poor amount of parking.

This is actually a pretty nice, upscale business hotel that’s been recently refurbished. What’s not to like? BARKING DOGS!!! I was on the «Club Level» and there was a yipping, barking dog next door! I complained to the front desk at 6:30pm and when it continued until 10:30pm I called the on-​duty manager. She wasn’t willing to solve the problem and told me that «unfortunately, we are a pet friendly hotel».
I’m shocked to realize that upscale hotels even ALLOW dogs — I stay in business hotels over 100 nights a year and I have NEVER seen a dog in any hotel! Since this hotel chooses to be «pet friendly» I’ll just have to go to a hotel that’s «guest friendly».
I suggest you do the same.

Nice facilities, but terrible front desk customer service. Rooms weren’t ready when I came in about 30 min earlier than check-​in at 3pm. I sat in the lobby waiting, but no one notified me that the rooms were ready. I had to go up myself and ask around 3:40pm.
The concierge also wasn’t helpful regarding dining options in the area. Overall, the front desk really made the stay less than pleasant. Do yourself a favor and choose from one of the other hotels in the area.

This was a fantastic hotel, especially since I booked it on Hotwire and paid $ 70 per night.
Clearly the entire place has been recently remodeled and it shows. The lobby of the hotel is really nice, welcoming and loungey. If you don’t have anything to do and you need a place to hang out, have a drink and use wifi, hang out on the comfy chairs/​couches in the lobby. There’s also a restaurant/​bar that serves all of your food and bar needs.
The rooms are great. Not too small (especially for one or two people) and the bed was insanely comfortable. Clearly all new mattresses, comforters, pillows, etc. and so worth the effort. Down alternative comforter and pillow-​top mattress = great night’s sleep.
Mini fridge with COMPLIMENTARY bottled water (unheard of!) and lots of space for your beer. This seems to be one of the go-​to places to stay if you’re in town for a Michigan football game, so beer is always a necessity.
Right across the street from a mall with a ton of restaurants and things to do AND about two miles down the road from the golf course and Michigan Stadium. We walked it and it was just fine… definitely much easier on the way back than trying to leave the stadium and all of that parking chaos.
This hotel was fantastic. Even if we had paid full price, I still would have enjoyed the hotel. There were obviously a lot of rowdy football partiers hanging around, but it wasn’t too loud or annoying (like other hotels I’ve stayed in in AA under similar circumstances). This could have been a terrible experience but the Sheraton is classy enough to keep it nice.
Oh, and apparently this is a great place for weddings. My husband attended a reception here a few years back and the conference spaces are beautiful and worth booking if you’re getting married in the area.

There were four of us for the Northwestern-​Michigan football game, we’ve done this before, we’ll do it again, and each time, we get better at it. This time, we learned about the area Sheratons. My half of the foursome couldn’t stomach the football weekend price increase for the Ann Arbor Sheraton, they tripled rates, so we stayed in the Novi Sheraton, but spent enough time visiting our friends that I can compare. Their room and hotel was a tad newer, their room was a bit nicer (more recently renovated), and just a bit more convenient to The Big House, but certainly not enough to justify $ 300 a night (we paid less than $ 100 a night in Novi, a 35 – 45 minute drive to the U of M campus). The AA Sheraton rooms are like the Novi Sheraton rooms, the bathrooms are too small, without towel racks, though their housekeeping seemed better than ours. The hotel was sold out months in advance for this, and I think most home football weekends, the big crowds shouldn’t have taken them by surprise, but parking was still problematic, breakfast on game day morning was unconscionably slow. We never got a waiter, so we were forced to take the breakfast buffet (my companions wanted to just order off the menu), the omelet chef took a half hour break and only appeared as we were finishing, there were no bowls (for breakfast!), so I ate my oatmeal on a dinner plate (so uncivilized), many selections were just empty warming dishes. Since we always plan to get to the stadium early, we were still a little ahead of schedule after the breakfast delay. Then the bus shuttle, a very reasonable $ 1.50 each way, turned out to be a big waste of money, as I bought round trip, and we waited in vain for an hour. We did see one shuttle fill up just before we bought the nonrefundable tickets, then we moved to the the front of the line when half an hour later the next bus filled up, and promised that «another bus is right behind,» but the «right behind part» was a rather deceptive way of saying that there would not be another bus for the next half hour (could have been more, we waited and no other bus came, so we gave up). We hopped in a taxi, which cost us $ 20 (including a well deserved tip), but since we didn’t know where the shuttle picked up for the return trip, we had to shell out another $ 20 for another cab to return from the game.
Now, on the plus side, the Northwestern contingent stayed at the hotel, so it was fun to see the athletic director, the cheerleaders, the support staff, and the other alumni at the indoor tailgate party. Since the hotel was filled with older alumni from both universities, the night noise really wasn’t that bad, and our Sheraton in Novi had some teenagers in a youth hockey league, we actually had more night noise disturbance than our friends in Ann Arbor, but remember the $ 200/​night difference, and we stayed all weekend.
The general atmosphere was that the staff here was harried, overwhelmed, and there’s no excuse for that. Yes, home football weekends bring in a lot of people from out of town, but that happens according to schedule, every football season, every year, since before they wore helmets on the gridiron. Just like the Michigan coaching staff obviously planned an offense to compensate for not having Denard Robinson starting, and to take advantage of our inexperienced backup cornerbacks, the hotel management should have had a plan in place to handle the full capacity weekend.
Here’s my guess. The management here thinks that the football weekend guests are mostly one time visitors, so they don’t try very hard for the repeat business. That’s a big mistake, whether intentionally negligent, or just incompetent, I know we’re not coming back, not to stay in the hotel, not to eat in the restaurant, not even to park and ride the shuttle. And we come back every two years for football, but also randomly at other times we’re passing through (my brother is an alumni, we have friends in the Detroit area, Ann Arbor is a unique and beautiful little college town, University of Michigan seminars or conferences, Zingerman’s), and besides that, Big Ten alumni will chat with each other about visiting stadiums for games. It’s not just the stressful slow service on game day, it’s the insult. This is no way to treat customers, you shouldn’t inflate your prices knowing the demand has increased, then neglect to deliver the increased service demanded.

This is your standard, middle-​of-​the-​road hotel. It’s not super modern or trendy like the W or the Le Meridien, but you’ll find peace and comfort here. I stayed here for one night after my best friend’s wedding, and it felt spacious and luxurious. I slept like a baby on their soft, plush beds. They had a normal TV in the room — not a flatscreen and no HD. I also would’ve liked it if the water pressure in the shower was stronger, but overall I had a good stay here. Would definitely recommend to others!

I’ve stayed here pre-​, during, and now at the very end of renovations. If my last visit is any indication, this hotel will be transitioning from an OK choice to a more upscale place to stay.
In general the rooms are clean and well-​appointed; I appreciated the updated décor on my most recent visit. The revamped room service menu looks very appealing, and the new exercise room looks much bigger and better equipped than the old. Service has always been a strong point here and that continued to be true during my last visit.
I agree with other reviewers that it was not pleasant to stay here during the renovations. In fact, I moved loyalties to a different hotel after an unpleasant stay in a plastic wrapped room on a windy night. I also didn’t feel super safe with pairs of construction workers lingering outside each hotel door at all hours. I’m glad the work is done.
Location is a wash on the Sheraton, since the bulk of Ann Arbor’s hotels are all in the same small neighborhood.
One big negative for me: The Internet service here is unreliable and slow. I’m a business traveler, and I actually need the Internet connection to get work done, so this is a significant problem. The Internet cuts out about once per hour here.
