LaFontaine Buick GMC of Ann Arbor

I have a 100 mile a day commute. On my way to work (in AA) my car’s check engine light came on. I called and asked for a loaner while they looked at my car. They obliged with a car similar to the one I had. I never had that before. I needed to come back and get a couple of things when I found out the problem was bigger than I thought. Craig R. helped me get the stuff from my car, and even carried it to my loaner. After the car was ready, they washed it for me. I had the light come back on 2 days later (argh) and called and asked if they would pick it up as I didn’t feel safe driving it. They dropped off a loaner and picked up my car. They worked like dogs trying to replicate the problem based on the code they received, but couldn’t do it. Whatever, it’s technology and things go wonky. I am so glad there is a great dealership close to work that I trust.

I purchased a Chevy Equinox from their used lot 3 months ago. Because I don’t live in Ann Arbor, I scheduled an appointment to look at this specific car. I arrived at my appointment time only to find the car wasn’t in the lot. It was taken in for a painting detail even though they knew I was coming in that night.
I can’t remember the name of my salesman, but he knew absolutely nothing about this car. We were promised two warranties that the car actually didn’t come with, and he gave us incorrect information on several other details on the car.
That night, I was driving back to Grand Rapids and was stranded halfway in Lansing because the windshield wipers stopped working during a storm. I took it to the Lansing LaFontaine, who fixed the wipers, but after leaving me stranded the whole day in Lansing, missing work, and while working on it for over 6 hours. Obviously I was furious, so I spoke with Jay Puzio, the Ann Arbor Used Car Sales Manager, and he told me that he would compensate me for the inconvenience.
Here I am after 3 months and nothing has been done about it. SEVERAL phone calls and emails to Jay, and he’s extremely difficult to get a hold of and won’t return my calls. His manager had to get involved, and they still «haven’t received the correct documentation» even after sending it multiple times.
I am EXTREMELY frustrated and disgusted by this whole process. This was my first time buying a car, and it has been ruined by LaFontaine.
UPDATE: After this process continuing, I made a special trip to Ann Arbor only to find out that both Jay and his manager no longer work there. I had to re-​explain my situation to the new manager, Matt, and he said that he would let me know if it would be approved. A week later, I received a call that I would be compensated for everything and the check would be in the mail. A month, and several phone calls back and forth, later, I finally received the check (because apparently the person supposed to send the check in the first place was fired). Finally everything is resolved, however, this took 19 weeks…19.

I had great service here. I recently leased a Buick Encore and the Sales gentleman who helped me was awesome. He went above and beyond working with me getting the exact car I wanted and was able to keep it in my payment range with my not so stellar credit. If you go here ask for Cory, he’s the best one!!!#

Debating whether to buy another Honda Accord EX-​L V6 or a Buick Regal. Walk into the dealership and stand by the entrance for 5 minutes, the one sales rep waiting on someone else and no one else is there. Hang out in front window shopping and give up after a few minutes. Driving out see three employees standing out of sight on the east side of the building, at least one is smoking a cigarette apparent not paying attention as new customers come in. So much for customer service and if this is a family deal… no thanks. Off to another dealership. Sorry GM I wanted to give you a shot

I came here for warranty work on the brake system. The techs give you a sample of all of your fluids to show you their condition. The next day my car was gushing boiling engine coolant everywhere and I found that that the cap to the coolant tank was loose. I had to drive for a little on low coolant and eventually my water pump died. I had no idea that getting warranty work would eventually cost me quite a bit of money.

First time here and well, I have yet to find a place that values their customer when it comes to service. Walked in, TJ said he would be with me and continued to talk to the service reps and then got on the phone to take care of follow-​up business (rude!). Since when did taking care of phone customers (more so nothing pressing) come before helping a customer in front of you? Rude! I’ve seen this at several dealerships now and it gets old. The only thing that keeps me from going to a private oil change place is the cost. Would have helped to have more personnel. another guy finally came in after he saw me standing there looking out the window. I have an appt. I would like to not spend my entire day here for a simple oil change, thanks!
Aaand after an hour, the car sitting out front looking all done. waiting on the paperwork. Really? Get it together!
And, no car wash after a that 1hr 15mins later. I will NEVER come back here!

The latest game is not what you will think it is. If you scrape three and match them you win but that is not your prize! your real prize is determined from the bar code and matched against their list of other prizes This is disonest on many levels. if they are dishonest in thier mailers how can you trust them to be honest if they sell you a car. Watch this dealer very close if you plan on buying from them.

I love this dealership. It is a pleasure bringing my car here. The service dept. is the best. My car is always done before promised. The shuttle will take you anywhere you want to go. I am always treated beautifully and they know my name.

The guys in the service department were extremely helpful and friendly. They kept me constantly updated about my vehicle’s status and were more than accommodating.

Every time I go here, they have new folks working in the service department… not sure why such high turnover rate or if they are being rotated around, but in the past year, I’ve seen so many new faces in their service department.
I would rate my overall experience as 3.5 stars… I took my car in for a recall and waited for a hour for them to do that and an oil change and tire rotation… I was waiting in the waiting area, the service guy came and got me, explained what was done, etc. and of course told me about the survey that I would be receiving and told me how I should fill it out.
My overall experience on this visit was great, far better then previous visits.
