All Directions Moving

I’ve used All Directions moving twice now. The first time, in February, was AWESOME. They moved me on Super Bowl Sunday in the middle of a Snow-​pocalypse. They were quick, friendly and efficient. Since then, I have recommended All Directions Moving to all of my coworkers who have used them and provided them with a bit of good business.
However, when we called them again for an August move of our one bedroom apartment from Ann Arbor to Ypsilanti, things already seemed different. I called and provided all of my information about the move to Jon, but I was told to send them an email with all this information to their email address. I was told that they would then send me a confirmation and an estimate via email in return. So, I sent an email with our address, our new address and a description of our furniture and belongings to be moved. That email confirmation (or any response) never came.
A week before the move, I called again to confirm. Good thing I did, as he had the wrong date for our move on his calendar and was planning to arrive a week early. We got things straightened out. I got an estimate and Jon and his crew were going to arrive at 10am with a 26 foot truck (because we would rather have too much room than not have enough). All seemed like it was going to go well.
The day of the move, they arrived at 11:30 (1.5 hours late) without call or notice. When I contacted them, Jon explained that he had to exchange our 26 foot truck for a 16 foot truck, which I thought was strange as he said he would «rather have too much room than not enough room.» I later found out that he was moving another customer at the same time, and he likely needed the bigger truck for them.
So, this small truck arrives and the crew begins the move. I can instantly tell that the truck is not going to be large enough and that multiple trips (from Ann Arbor to Ypsilanti) are going to be needed. So, the whole point of going with a cheaper company is completely moot at this point when you are paying by the hour. It ended up taking 6+ hours, and when you are paying $ 80 an hour, it was approaching $ 600 to move a one bedroom apartment from Ann Arbor to Ypsilanti.
If you do go with All Directions, make sure to get confirmation and a written estimate from them in advance. We ended up paying out the nose and over-​paying compared to other companies estimates who complete the move based on the job, not by the hour. I want to support this small business, but they really consistently dropped the ball on this one.

Amazing! Would highly recommend! My life was jam-​packed in boxes on a 28 foot truck, loaded to the ceiling. All Directions Moving unloaded the truck in record time on a 90 degree plus day. Extreme care was used with my boxes and furniture as they brought pieces into the house. Despite the heat and the amount of items to move, they stayed dedicated throughout the job. My piano was handled with utmost care — very appreciate! Thank you Jon and team!

I was hoping for better given the reviews, unfortunately that was not the case! I have never written a negative review, because most business service is okay or good. However, given the great disappointment and bad service that I received from this company it was more than sufficient to warrant a review.
I called All Directions Moving and spoke to Jon a month and a week in advance to my moving date. This was after a few calls since they are awful at picking up their phone. At the time Jon told me that the date and time would work and that they did not have any bookings scheduled for my desired date. He asked that I email him the details of my move so that he can added to his schedule once he returned to his office. He also indicated that he would call me back to confirm. He never did!
Not only did he not call or email back but when I called two weeks before my move to confirm, given his lack of follow-​up, he told me they could not do it because they were having a «company picnic» on the date of my move. Excuse me? You said the date and time was fine when we spoke! He tried to fix it and was «looking for my email» and would call me back. He never did! Not only did he not call me back, again, but he did not respond to a subsequent voicemail that I left 2 days later. Now I am left the week of my move trying to find a new mover despite booking with this company with more than sufficient notice. So frustrating!
Suggestion, get help for managing your business! Best of luck if you choose to use these guys who don’t follow through and lack common business sense.

Awesome movers! They did what I thought would be a 3 hour move in 1 hour 45 mins, even lifting a 6 foot couch up through my balcony window when it wouldn’t fit through the door. Then (after being paid, so no financial incentive) they helped me reattach a trailer to another moving truck. And they were nice to my cat. Highly recommended!

These guys are excellent. They are on time and careful with all the items. My next move will be with them for sure.

Great people to work with. Our move was fairly straight forward and a short distance, however I have heard of moving companies taking advantage of people even with simple moves. This company has fair pricing per hour and they operate as fast as is safely possible. These guys are professional yet friendly and they get the job done. I have zero complaints. I wish dealing with all service providers was as simple as this. If only.

They were surprisingly quick at moving our things given how carefully they treated them! Two men moved a bed, two desks, two couches, various side tables, an entertainment center, bookshelves, armchair, grill, kitchen table and several chairs and odds and ends into a truck in just 2 hours. Unloading was even shorter. Their rates were very reasonable, and they were generally good-​natured and pleasant people to work with. The only negative was that they were an hour late (arrived at 11am instead of 10am), but they did call ahead to warn us.

I’ve used several moving companies over the years and All Directions Moving is my favorite so far. My move was scheduled for the worst possible day this winter — snow, rain, and ice all on the same day. Despite the horrible weather, my move was so fast and everything stayed nice and dry. Jon and his crew were polite, friendly, and professional — and they took great care of my belongings. I will definitely be calling on All Directions Moving again.

All Directions Moving was AMAZING. The movers were quick and careful super friendly and hard working.
Planning the move was easy and simple and their prices are really competitive and reasonable.
