Poppets* Early Learners is a safe, comfortable, stimulating and nurturing environment for children from 2 to 3 years old. Located on Chestnut Street in the center of Andover — adjacent to town parks and other outdoor recreation — we are a Massachusetts state-​certified early education home care facility.

We believe young children benefit from learning through play whilst socializing with their peers. Childcare shouldn’t be just about filling time for the children. We offer a range of experience filled with educational value that will prepare children for pre-​school while at the same time, having lots of fun.

History

Established in 2014.

Poppets provides semi-​structured daily lessons and engaging activities. We offer nutritious snacks, encourage proper manners, and practice good hygiene. The child’s development is promoted in areas including:

STEAM — Science, technology, engineering, art and math.

Parents are the first and most important educators in a child’s life. We see our time with your children as a partnership to give them the best possible start in life. Additionally, we know that parents like to be as much a part of child’s development as possible, so we keep reports & records for everyone in the program as way to see achievements and have keepsakes of early years.

Lisa S.

Business Owner

Lisa Stevenson (Miss Lisa, to our children) is a full-​time educator and Managing Director of Poppets. She is a certified British Nursery Nurse (NNEB) and pre school teacher who has 24 + years of experience educating children in day care, pre-​school, primary school, and special education environments, in the UK, Europe and USA. Lisa worked as a pre-​school teacher at Christ Church Children’s Center in Andover, prior to opening Poppets.

Lisa hails from Yorkshire, England, and has lived in Andover since 1996. She is raising three daughters (ages 17, 12 & 10), who attend Andover Public Schools. Lisa has regularly volunteered her time in many areas of the Andover community, including 10 years on the Bancroft Elementary School PTO (Vice President and President) and 15 years as a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoys time with her family, skiing, playing squash, and sewing.
