Best turkey and cheese I’ve had in years — and I’m on the road a lot so I order from a lot of places around the state. Real shaved turkey breast(not cold cuts) and a very good roll. I had to go back for a second one later in the week while I was back in town. Can’t speak to anything else served from there but that turkey and cheese alone earns 5 stars! Keep up the good work.

The new staff is incredible. The managers very nice. They get the food out to you incredibly fast. Best pizza in town. Can’t beat the Wednesday beat the clock deal. Rarely do they mess up if they do they will give you a free meal. Overall great experience. New manager has turned the place around.

«Under new management.» Ugh. I went for a couple of slices at lunch today. 15 minute wait after ordering. They didn’t tell me there were no slices available and the pizza was in the oven. The whole time I could hear the cooks swearing in the kitchen. I wouldn’t bring young kids. The slices themselves were good sized, but the dough was just bad. Burned in some places, raw in others. The cheese was burned to a dark, dark brown. I’m not going back. Stay away.

I live around the block from this place and have been ordering pizza from King’s for the last four years almost weekly. King’s has gone downhill in so many aspects. The pizza is greasy, the dough is barely cooked, the pizza is never actually cut all the way through, etc. But the decline in quality was not quite enough for me to stop ordering until my trip there last week. I had forgotten to call ahead, so I stopped into the restaurant to place the order for a large cheese pizza, something that usually takes 10 minutes. I sat by the register at a table for almost 40 minutes listening to the staff sexually harass each other, complain that there’s nothing to do, throw stuff around, and loudly swear at each other in the kitchen. After this amount of time I got up and asked about my pizza, to which they simply pulled it off a shelf, where it had been sitting(not even being warmed). They did not even apologize and if I hadn’t already paid(they did not give me a receipt) I would have walked out.

I stopped in recently when I was back in town visiting a friend. I haven’t lived in Andover since 1997 when I left for college but King’s Subs was a staple of mine in the early 90’s when I was a student at Doherty Middle school. My pal and I stopped in on a Friday afternoon and it took us back to our Friday afternoons in middle school. I’m pretty sure that nothing has changed in the last 20+ years. The place was filled with middle school boys spending their parents hard earned money on gumballs and french fries. The gumball machine definitely wasn’t there in the 90’s because I’m sure that we would have been equally convinced that we were going to get the black gumball and win a free small pizza. We ordered some food which tasted just as I remembered. It’s not a place that I would normally choose to eat at, but on this particular day, my friend and I were taking a trip down memory lane and decided to stop in. The food is typical pizza/sub joint kind of food and it’s pretty average. But Kings is a Doherty Middle school staple and I’m glad it’s still around.

Very inappropriate language being used from beginning to end of my experience. Rude unethical employees using very offending sexual language with one another with multiple customers in the lobby. Several men employees touching and speaking harassingly with the front desk woman. She asked him to stop several times and it continued until she had to raise her voice and tell him that there were customers in the lobby which he clearly saw. Food was just okay, NO Greek dressing for a Greek salad(Small salad for the price) and the Peta bread was so dry that I couldn’t eat it. just wow, hope other have a much better experience. I mostlikely will not be back.

Long live the King? No way! This place deserves is a long overdue review for it’s overwhelming treachery. Any instance in which I’ve had pizza from King’s, and there have been several, it is under cooked, cold, greasy cheese congealing, crust is rock hard. Disgusting does not justify the final product. Their pizza is so freakishly insulting that I think it might violate at least a few basic human rights. When I ordered fries from Kings subs, it really wasn’t so much fries as it was«fry». A cold, greasy, fried potato clump. This looks like some kind of ghoulish mutation of nature that you would pull out of the jar in a biology lab. Just NASTY. Unfit for a king. Unfit for consumption. And finally, and most importantly the last piece on my tirade against the King would be on their subs. The tuna sub with lettuce & tomato I ordered for take out was pretty typical, it tasted normal enough. Nothing outstanding, but certainly edible. But about 20 minutes later, I started to feel a little nauseous. Starting to get a little sweaty. Something was going to fatally wrong. I darted into the bathroom and started retching my guts out. My head was spinning. That seemingly innocuous sub was tainted with bad tuna. It gave me food poisoning for three days. I called and explained my situation, and they claim that everything they make is fresh and my reaction to their food was simply impossible. I have never been more sure in my life that demon spawn sub gave me food poisoning. The only other thing I had eaten that day was an eggo waffle. I really don’t think eggo waffles give people food poisoning very often. Especially with hours and hours of delay. Here’s the message. I hate King’s. I hate it a whole lot. The food is generally terrible. When it doesn’t taste awful, it’s poison. If you love lousy eats or puking your guts out, the king might be your new best friend! Otherwise, avoid this place like the plague. There are a ton and a half pizza/sub places that are WAY better in the area.

As a student, I go there occasionally with my friends for dinner. The subs, wings, and pizza are all above average, with the bacon helix being the highlight among them. However, the food is a bit greasy, so if that’s something you want to avoid Kings may not be the place for you. The price is decent, and it’s in a relatively accessible location.

Really good Italian subs here!!! Being from NJ where an Italian sub is sacred, I can truly say they do it right(if you leave off the mayo) Like the fact this is peanut free place to order pizza for parties with kids. Owner is wicked nice(David) so ask for him if you need a big order. Delivery is key too… beats Depot for that reason.

Started off a big fan of King’s but lately I have been greatly disappointed, especially when it comes to their pizza. The last pizza I order from there(which will be my last) was suppose to be half cheese half veggie. When I ordered I clarified with them what was included on the veggies pizza(which included onions, peppers, tomatoes, broccoli, mushrooms and olives) and said I wanted them all except mushrooms. When i got home with the pizza it was under-cooked and the«veggie» half consisted of raw onions and raw green peppers. Nothing else. This pizza cost me about 16 dollars but if i had seen it before hand I would not have paid 5 dollars. The shop was closed by the time i got home with it so i couldn’t do much to resolve the situation. Would only go to Kings for a sub and even with that there are plenty of better options in Andover.

The delivery was slow, the driver didn’t listen to our directions and the food was horrible. I ordered a steak and cheese with extra cheese. There was barely any cheese on it and it wasn’t melted into the steak and the sub was cold. The steak was rubbery, I threw it out after one bite and made myself a grilled cheese instead. My husband got chicken fingers with Cajun fries. The chicken was gross and the fries tasted like dirt. Friends visiting got salad with steak tips, which they did not eat due to the steak being horrible. Unfortunately Andover has lacked on good take out with King’s being the worst we have had. $ 40 down the drain!

I’ve had the subs half a dozen times — always good. The bread could be better, but otherwise very good. The pizza is really bad, though — over cheesed, greasy, mushy crust. I try it once a year thinking — how bad can it be? Pretty bad.

Kings is an Andover staple being in the same spot for seemingly forever. The pizza is decent and the fries could be larger for the price. It has gotten more expensive and the food has declined some since the 5 star«greek» days of George and company. However the Steak and cheese wrapped in egg is still among the best versions I can find anywhere. Helped by many fond memories growing up, I would still eat here for lunch or a quick dinner anytime.

If you take a look around Andover, it is no secret as to why a mom-and-pop sub shop would do so well. There are very few options for a «cheap» lunch in downtown Andover and even fewer options for a good sub(*cough* Depot *cough*). Every time a new building went up around Main Street growing up, I would be excited as to the possibilities, only to be disappointed when it turned out to be another bank. Yea, Andover could be pretty lame. Still, King’s Subs does very well. The location makes it attractive to local businesses as well as students from Doherty and Phillips. It’s a good thing that these folks have no where else to go, because they likely would. King’s prices are way too high for how little they put in their sandwiches. The food is decent all around, but nothing on their menu constitutes a good value. You could get just as much meat on a Panera panini and pay a buck or two less(gross analogy, I know). The service is decent and I like the classic Boston sports décor, but not much else excites me about a trip to King’s. Enjoy your run now, King’s, because it could be all over one day when Five Guy’s moves across the street.

I want to tell you a secret about King’s Subs. Order the insider-only, not-on-the-menu«Joe-zone». It’s basically a cheeseburger with the works all wrapped up into a tasty calzone. Hamburger, cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions(cooked, thank God) and bacon, lovingly stuffed into a calzone shell. I know, I know. You think I’m crazy and that a calzone like that would taste bad. But it doesn’t. I promise. Do it.

I was skeptical at first after looking at the Pizza menu because it’s pretty thin. Actually I suppose I’m still a little skeptical of the pizza seeing as I haven’t tried it but I have picked up quite a few subs from this place and no complaints. A tad bit pricey for what you get perhaps but their subs are quite good and they are fast. They also deliver. I find myself going here for lunch about once a week now or so because I work out in Andover. Not the nicest interior for sitting down but it works for a quick lunch. Otherwise I would say get your stuff to go. Especially when it’s nice out, there are a couple parks right around the corner!

My alternate pizza place for when I don’t feel like Depot, or if we want delivery. Greek style thin-crust pizzas. Subs are pretty good; same with their salads. Great prices($ 10.50 for a large, single-topping).

Good place to stop in for a quick bite to eat. I was very dissapointed when they changed over from sour pickles to sweet ones, yuck. If you can get the black gumball out of the machine, you win a free small pizza! Endless fun/entertainment for kids, but not your meter money ;) A park is nearby so on summer days or when its warmer, its nice to grab food from here and walk over to the park and eat in the shade by the bridge that crosses the ghost of a river.
