K-9 & Kitty Kutters

Megan is awesome at what she does and the best I have ever worked with the animal grooming business! 100% recommend K9 & Kitty Kutters hands down!

I take my Mini English/​French bulldog mix here to get his nails trimmed. He is so frightened of anything to do with nail trims but he does a great job with Megan. She is able to get them done very quickly and does a good job! Because she is so quick, it minimizes his fear!

We’ve been using K-​9 in Andover for years. We have a Golden Retriever which requires a lot of attention from us and a quality grooming periodically. Megan and the team have consistently delivered excellent service to us and our pup.
The prices are fair, service is prompt, and results show attention to detail.

I don’t normally write negative reviews on products or services (in fact, this is my first time), but the experience my puppy had at K-​9 & Kitty Kutters was too heartbreaking not to share.
My husband and I brought in our 6 month old English Springer, Carl, for a bath and his very first «trim». We explained to Chelsey that we wanted the wispy hairs on his legs, feet, rump & belly cut and the hair on his neck trimmed, as it was so long it would catch in his collar.
Overall, Chelsey did a good job; she was polite and friendly to Carl. When we picked him up, she said he did great! After we got home, we realized that there were still a lot of wispy hairs on his belly and the hair on his neck was still longer than we would have liked.
The next morning I called in and spoke with Megan. I asked if I could bring Carl back in to have the cut finished. She said I could bring him in right away and she would take care of it. When we got there, my husband reiterated to Megan what we wanted her to do, and she became visibly/​verbally perturbed with us. She said if we wanted a «full groom» it would have cost $ 10 more… We explained up front what we wanted and paid what we were asked to pay.
Megan took Carl’s leash (mind you he’s frightened now, because she is not being very nice), and literally dragged Carl into the back area. She put him up on the table and proceeded clip him from tail to head (not what we asked for). She ran the clippers along his belly and rump, but didn’t even look down as she did it. She scalped his scrotum and there are still straggly hairs on his belly. This whole event took maybe two minutes… She didn’t take her time, she didn’t try to comfort Carl as he squirmed and whimpered, and she didn’t acknowledge us as we tried to question what she was doing to our frightened puppy.
After Megan finished «grooming» Carl, she put him on the floor, opened the door to the lobby, half tossed the leash to my husband and said, «Here ya go.» Other than that we got no acknowledgment from her whatsoever. Carl ran for the door… He couldn’t get out of there fast enough!
There is a decal on the front of the desk as you walk into K-​9 & Kitty Kutters that says, «Do what you love, love what you do»…Clearly, Megan (who I believe is the owner of this establishment) is in the wrong line of work… If I could have given a rating of zero stars, I would have… Carl will never set foot in this place again.
