Love these guys. Have recommended them to family and friends and they always come through. I had 20 palm trees removed around a pool. Did great job. Highly recommended

After speaking to Gilbert from Vargas Tree Service, I scheduled a consultation that I knew would cost me $ 150, but I was impressed with his knowledge of the bark beetle that was attacking the pine trees on our slope. I told him we had already lost 7 or our 15 pine trees, and I couldn’t bare to lose any more, that I had a few not looking very well. He talked about things we could do to treat the soil and inject or spray the trees before they get worse and die. He said stressed trees attract the bark beetle. So I scheduled Gilbert to evaluate my trees and soil. He was on time and very professional. After, I waited for 2 weeks for him to email me his observations and recommendations to inject or spray the trees with insecticide, but there was no estimated cost given for what he recommended. I called and left messages for him to call me. He never called me back. Another week went by and I’m watching my trees get worse and worse. I called again and reached Gilbert this time. He said he was sorry, that he didn’t know that I wanted an estimate. He said he would send it, but again I didn’t hear from him. I called again and he said he hadn’t sent it because he didn’t know if he had enough or if he could get any more or something like that. He said he would get an email out to me in the next day or two, but no estimate and no phone call. I have checked every day and I never received an estimate email, in fact I have not heard from him since then. I feel I waisted $ 150 and lost time in that I could have had my trees treated a month ago, and I could very well be losing my trees.
It’s a shame because the reviews saying they do really good work, I believed, but the reviews that say they don’t get back to you are true as well.

Truly — easily would’ve awarded them six or seven stars. We’ve had at least three other companies trim our trees (which are massive and plentiful) in the last decade and Vargas is head and shoulders above their competitors!

Disappointing. Had them come out to give us an estimate 2 weeks ago. They still haven’t gotten back to me. I didn’t have a great feeling while they were here, either. They didn’t really listen to me, just talked over me and dismissed what I had to say. Based on all that, I can’t give them my business.

These guys did a great job trimming two large trees in my back yard and doing some other cleanup, trimming/​removal and stump removal. They showed up on time, did a lot of prep and left the place cleaner than before they started. I’ll definitely be using them again. Jerry was great to work with and answered a ton of our questions.

Jerry was fantastic. I had two very large trees removed (stumps and all). They were super fast, took precautions to protect my property and my neighbors (covering windows and solar panel controls) and cleaned up afterwards. I highly recommend them!

No stars. They said they were booked until January. Called with an emergency. Would not recommend.

We hired Vargas to trim 9 podocarpus trees in preparation for replacing the fences that run along our property. We chose Vargas based on the numerous good Unilocal reviews, however, I am always a bit apprehensive when working with contractor for the first time. I can say without a doubt that the five star ratings you see are spot on… Esteban and his brother (sorry, I’ve forgotten your name!) and their team were professional, polite, reasonably priced and did an amazing job.

Highly recommend. Knowledgeable, detailed, professional and reasonable. This is our second time using their service. Will not use any other company… Thank you, after 4 hours and five men working our yard looks great.

Great job! Our trees hadn’t been trimmed in quite a while. They trimmed to maintain the health of the trees and left them looking great. They also took care not to damage anything and cleaned up completely when they were done.

After making us wait two weeks for an estimate, never called us back to book a date to come out to actually trim our tree. I called several times. Too bad.

Great experience with them! They are fast and very reasonably priced! They even removed a few extra bushes for free! Highly recommended for tree removal.

These guys are exceedingly knowledgeable and professional. I had them by yesterday to trim a gigantic ficus tree and they did a superb job with the trimming cleanup as well as educating me on maintenance. Highly recommend!!!

They were prompt and quick to get out to chino hills and give me a good estimate. On the day of service, they arrived on time, did the job requested very quickly, cleaned up everything very well, and nothing was damaged or broken. I was impressed by their service, politeness of the workers, and cleanliness. I would strongly recommend this company.

Called Vargas after receiving a quote from another company. Although the Vargas quote was higher, we went with Vargas because of the amazing knowledge of trees, how they need to be cut, and the customer service. We were absolutely blown away with the crew of wonderfully polite and hardworking men. The trimming was done with utmost care and precision. AND the clean up was so very thorough. The standards of this company is apparently very high, and it shows in everything that they do.
If you do pay more, you will pay for quality, high standards, and amazing customer service. All worth it. Every penny.

Found Vargas Tree Service And Landscaping looking at the Arborist site and Unilocal reviews. With so many positive experiences, it seemed good that they would be able to treat an ailing tree of ours. Initial call was quick for a consultation and the eventual follow-​up for service was smooth.
The work performed was satisfactory but then after it as if they had skipped town. Leaving messages for a follow-​up and on to many instances, it was a message machine. If I did get hold of the gal she made empty promises to call me back with Gilbert’s schedule so that a time could be arranged. «I’ll call you in an hour», or «I’ll call you back in a couple hours once I talk to Gilbert.» Even calling Gilbert direct he would state he doesn’t have his advanced schedule so once he returns to the office he’d get back with me.
This was tiresome to chase them down and the delays came at multi-​week intervals and the tree was becoming worse as time passed. The big tree firms tell me straight out they only deal with commercial clients or larger properties. If you are a single tree or small property owner, find another arborist. This company has poor communication practices and cannot be relied on. Disappointing.
