The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

This review is not for a specific location although my favorite to date is on Santa Monica Pier… I just love their coffee and it NEVER messes with my stomach like «the other place» plus everything tastes ten times better. I can’t wait for more drive thru locations. the Americano with a scoop of dark chocolate on ice is my favorite drink and it doesn’t cost very much. Add your own creamer and sweetener if needed and done… This is real coffee that does the job…

I Love this Coffee Bean! The employees are so friendly! They even know my name now. When you order extra caramel… you actually get extra.

I’ve been going to this CBTL for a few years now, almost a few times every week. Staff has changed through the years but they are usually very nice, smiling and they try to know your name. My problem with this place is that they allow smoking outside. So even if it is nice outside, I would still stay inside. They do offer free WiFi, which is great but come on, CBTL needs to pick up the pace and start offering ePay, and some reward program.

I really like the feel of this place. The employees are super chill, the environment is relaxed but not like Starbucks. It is about 7 pm, so it isn’t very busy, and is a very nice place to study and get a good cup of Joe. The coffee is very good and reasonably priced, especially compared to Starbucks where all the prices seem to do is rise. I am definitely going to keep coming here in the future to do some studying and to relax.

Best place for your buck… The coffee is better than bucks lol it’s not burnt. it all ways fresh. And a great staff.

Great coffees and love the blueberry Danish! Hazelnut is my fave. I like that they use nonfat milk.

Came here today June 22, 2015, Monday, brought my pregnant wife with me. As we got in before placing an order, she badly needed to pee. This branch have 2 restrooms for customers.
One of which is being used, the other is empty. We asked if we could use the empty restroom because my pregnant wife badly needs to pee and her back is aching already. Sadly, the girl asked us to wait until the other restroom thats being used is free for her to use. So my wife patiently waited for 12mins until the person got out from the restroom.
What kind of customer service is that? I wasnt able to get the name but she is NOT CONSIDERATE ENOUGH FOR PREGNANT WOMEN and/​or JUST TOO LAZY TO CLEAN UP ANOTHER RESTROOM.
I am a paying customer and sometimes, pregnant ladies should be considered and allowed to use the empty restroom becasue we are customers!

Worse service ever! Never coming here again.
Wanted to use the bathroom before ordering and the guy there wouldn’t give me the key until I ordered. Sooooo upsetting!

I had a blended ice mocha, no whipped cream. It was delicious! It almost tasted like a chocolate milkshake! I also had an everything bagel. It was fresh and full of flavor! I’m not usually into coffee drinks, but I loved it here. The service was fast and awesome!

My experience here was bad, they ran out of the basic plain bagel, and they charged me a dollar for a small crème cheese when I ordered two bread items. Apparently croissants don’t make the cut for cream cheese. They were slow and inefficient, big disappointment!

I stop here if for some reason there’s no Starbucks in reach. The service is always great and pleasant and they serve Thai tea now! It’s on the corner of Lincoln and State College next to two major bus stops and is a popular stop for people waiting to catch the next bus or get coffee and a lot of transients. Some people have a thing for Coffee Bean and know which concoctions to choose. I unfortunately, haven’t found my signature Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf drink yet.

I love coming to this location everyone is super nice and and I always get my order fast I come here for the ice coffee and the pastries its always clean and I know I can hang out if I bring my loptop.

Good thing I wasn’t in a hurry today!
I ordered an ice coffee and an iced vanilla latte for a pal. While waiting for my drinks there were 2 customers ahead of me. One of those customers got their drink. And then my pal’s vanilla latte was ready…
…the other customer ahead of me was obviously on her meal break from wherever she works at as she had some sort of uniform on and kept checking her watch. As her and I stood there, both waiting for our drinks, some random guy orders an americano at the register…
…and the americano is ready! Before our drinks! So I’m standing there flabbergasted. The other waiting girl goes to see where her drinks are and the lady making the drinks says something generic. FINALLY that girl’s drinks are ready (she ordered 2 blended drinks). I watch the lady FRIGGIN FINALLY make my drink…
…and all she did was push a button to make the ice coffee come out of a container. Holy sh*t I waited that long for that? C’mon.
By the way, my pal had the time to go get a combo meal from Togo’s during the time I was waiting.
Tea might be bomb but seriously what terribly slow and unapologetic employees. Waste of payroll right there.

Mocha latte for me & white chocolate latte for him.
The restroom is not the cleanest but the employee was super nice.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is almost yummylicious!

Walking distance from the Marriot where we were staying. I love Coffee Bean! They made me an extra sugary caffeinated beverage to kick-​start my day after a long night at Disneyland!
The barista’s were nice and patient with me even though my attention was divided between them and my crazy kiddos! Who gave them sugar donuts for breakfast??? Anyways, the ladies were patient and hooked a momma up!
Love the outside seating, not that I used it! But if I had a good book and a babysitter…

I got the Black Forest ice blended for the first time and I didn’t like the after taste at all. Idk if they used real cherries or the fake stuff. Well anyways that’s just me. When I got there I felt like I was waiting to order for awhile. There were two workers at the time and didnt say anything to me while they were making other customers drink. And oh yeah! I had a gift card and I didn’t know if I had money on it or not. The worker tired it and it didn’t take it so I was assuming there was no money on it. Thank god I decided to keep the card because I just checked online for my balance and there was six bucks on it.

As a tea drinker there is a nice selection to choose from. My wife got a coffee and she said it was good. Service was pretty nice.
The place does feel a little run down. Tables and seats are worn down and in need of repair or replaced. Just needs a facelift and a good deep scrubbing.
Also, the clientele in the mid-​afternoon seemed a little seedy. Felt nervous around many of them. Some seeking refuge from the rain or just wanting to use the restroom — therefore I didn’t even think of using it!
Good wifi and enough indoor and outdoor seating.

I used to be as supervisor here back in 2011, so I can vouch for the good and the not so good. It was a great place to work and I believe in the product so highly that this is one of the only places I’ll go for coffee.
Fun Facts: Coffee Bean is actually a Kosher restaurant, meaning from the ingredients that go into every drink and every thing in the bake case is held to higher standard of quality. The baked goods are shipped in every morning and the coffee is supposed to be made fresh every two hours. They flavor their drinks with a milk based powder rather than a syrup, so you may want to request extra powder if you’re used to Starbucks.
Quick Tip: Coffee Bean makes traditional French/​Italian coffee drinks so don’t expect the drinks to be the same as what you would find at Starbucks. For example: What Starbucks calls a cappuccino, isn’t really a classic European style cappuccino and Coffee bean doesn’t do skinny drinks because all of their drinks that require dairy already start with non fat milk, although one can certainly request two percent, soy, half and half or whole milk. As your Batista for a recommendation if you’re not sure what drink would be equivalent or close to what you typically drink at your local coffee House.
Remember to be patient during rushes and be nice to the Batista’s. They do their best to handle everyone’s orders and they’re expected to get each drink done in under two minutes, not easy when there’s huge orders or a bunch of custom drinks. Some Batista’s will take short cuts, which is bad and could effect the quality of your drink. If you find that your drink is not to your liking just have them make it again.

This is my most local CB&TL, literally a couple of mInutes from my residence.
The inside can be cozy and toasty on winter nights, but in the summertime, it’s the outside patio area which I adore. There is a water fountain which pleasantly runs while you sip or nibble away and if you’re into watching traffic like me you can gaze upon the busy intersection of Lincoln Ave & State College Blvd. Nothing exciting, just a view of cars and pedestrians being on their way.
I have had many moments with my hubby engaged in stimulating conversations out on their patio. And happily I can say, they have more times than not, made my drinks in a jiffy:)

This is my favorite Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf location. I have been going here since they opened. I have since moved out of state, but I come back home twice a year and during those visits, I come to this location everyday.
My favorite drinks to order are the Tropical Passion Iced Tea and the Iced Hazelnut Lattes… Delicious!
The staff are always friendly and cordial.
There is plenty of seating inside and outside.
