Rodeway Inn & Suites Near Convention Center

DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE WE DID, DO NOT STAY HERE!
This was by far the worst motel experience we have ever had. We planned a last minute holiday trip to Disneyland and our hotel options were limited. I can see why this location had rooms available. The entire building inside and out was filthy and in total disrepair, walls and floors were paper thin, staff was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful and if that isn’t enough their ice machine was broken. Overall, it was a super uncomfortable experience of which we never wish to experience again. I would not recommend spending your hard earned money to stay here – avoid it at all costs!

It’s 6:46am and I know this because our noisy neighbors in 113 have disregarded a couple calls from front desk after I’ve called front desk with my cell (because naturally the house phone is out of order). On top of that, the lady at the front desk has said twice that she’d go out to talk to them, but instead just called their phone. I know this because the walls are so thin I can hear one girl tell the front desk «we’re not even fucking loud».
All of them and the management here: go kill yourselves. Twice.
Plus we kept stepping on crickets, and the fridge is super loud.

I arrived, traveling solo with my 20 month old, in the 9pm hour, toddler struggling to stay awake. I was put in an upstairs room near the back of the property. The parking lot was under construction so I couldn’t park at the nearest stair case, so we struggled up the stairs.
When we got into the room to keep her asleep I didn’t turn on the lights, quickly changed her diaper and into pajamas, went to the restroom in the dark and climbed into bed, too.
When I woke up in the morning I found a bathroom with mold on the walls, the faucet caked in something, unsecured cords dangling from the TV.
Don’t let their ‘recently remodeled’ pictures fool you. They’re hiding a lot.

Aside from walls being thinner than Calista Flockhart, there were dead BED BUGS in my bed — and my sister woke up a live on her pillow and blood on the sheets near her neck.

Do NOT STAY HERE!!! I don’t understand how people rated this hotel with more than one star. The room has been «remodeled» by what looks like someone who didn’t give a shit. The title on the floor didn’t even reach the wall or the tub that left a disgusting opening on the floor I’m sure filled with bacteria. The paint on the walls is peeling off. The faucet on the sink was disgusting and looked like it was rotted out. The bed is tiny and awful the comforter was shredded on one end. There was minimal light, after trying countless times to turn on the side lights I discovered there was no light bulbs in them. The room was gross I felt gross sleeping there and I pray I don’t take home bed bugs.
The first night we arrived after 1am due to traffic and found there was no parking. The guy at the counter told us to park in the handicap space that it would be fine. The next morning as we were leaving for Disneyland a cop pulled in thankfully we didn’t get a ticket. Every morning after that someone was double parked behind us and would have to ask the guy at the counter to have them move. We stayed there 3 nights and there was always someone lingering outside looking really sketchy. There was a bunch of construction supplies outside and mattresses outside leaning against the building, probably going to be used in a room.
The only positive is only 1 mile from toy story parking lot from disney. Do yourself a favor spend the extra 20 to stay at one of the dozen other hotels on the street. You don’t have to worry about your safety or your health.

Stayed here for 2 nights, parking is very limited and narrow. Their «continental» breakfast was not desirable, mini muffins that looked like they just opened a box and dumped, milk, juice, no coffee, although they did have cereal. We had the suite that was shared with 3 kids, the kids room did have its own tv, which was beneficial. The suite looked like they started to paint it and gave up. The wall mounted blowdryer was falling off the wall and you had to turn on the light switch to have it run. The lights over the sink kept going off and on. The bathroom was very narrow and no fan just a window, it was 98 outside and you had to open the window and let the hot air in to cool off the bathroom. The beds were hard and very soft pillows. The comforters on the beds were very dirty, although the sheets were clean. There is a shuttle to Disneyland but, you have to go to the Hotel next door. Place could use a lot of upgrades. The Owner lives onsight and was always outside smoking even while the Kids walked by. Will only stay here again if desperate.

They could careless either because they lock you in with a fee.
When we tried to leave they charged us full price.
We still left and contacted corporate right away.

This place was better that we expected for the price. We stayed in a newer room which looks better cosmetically. The shower pressure was strong, flat screen tv, and biggest fridge ive seen compared to ANY hotel ive stayed at. Parking/​noise was never an issue at all. Wifi was surprisingly quick conpared to other hotels ive used. Only negatives i would say is the carpet needs a good steam cleaning and the sink faucet is out of date. Overall not too shabby

There are «cheap» places and then there are «disgusting» places.
We had book this hotel through
. For the price, we thought why not and booked for 3 nights. We arrived 3am. Check in was quick but there was no parking. The front desk attendant had instructed us to park behind another car and we can move it in the morning when a spot opens up. Red flag number one: we got a knock on the door around 6/​7am to move the car.
Upon walking into the room, there was stain on the sheet. Red flag number two: We had called to ask for a of change of sheets. They brought up a set of sheets but instead of changing it, they just handed the sheets us and did not even offer to remove the stained sheets. We switched out the sheets ourselves and just went to sleep.
After sleeping, the sheets had tousled. We saw there were even more stains. This time it was a large urine stain. We called in again, and they removed all the sheets on the bed. We left for lunch, came back to see pillows with no covers and a bed with no blankets just a bed cover and dovet. We lifted up the dovet to inspect and saw what looked like a blood stain and a urine stain.
That was the last straw. We called
and requested a refund. Then we packed up and left. Not even 12 hours here and we had to leave.

It is not the best motel ever but compare to a lot other I’ve been through (and I’ve been through a lot) it’s like palace. You even have breakfast in the morning which is not just a muffin or a cookie. The room is a bit small but the beds are really big, some of the wall charges didn’t work and the floor in the room was broken near the bathroom.
But overall great experience. Highly recommended if you on low budget.

This is based solely on my check in experience. The front desk agent was rude. He stared at his computer for at least a minute before acknowledging me. He then said (in the most monotone way possible) that my room wasn’t ready yet… ummm its 4 pm? He said yeeeaaaa but we were full last night so maids are running behind. OK so how is that my problem? I paid for a hotel room and check in is at 3 pm. So now I’m sitting in a hot lobby waiting for my room because this hotel can’t get its act together. The guy wasn’t even wearing any kind of uniform or identity tag so I could get his name. Overall I will never stay here again. I don’t care how cheap the rooms are.

Looks like a 4 star experience but it’s just lipstick on a pig. Fresh paint looks good. But bed bugs, short circuiting hair dryer, lamest continental breakfast I’ve ever had and horrible customer service have ensured my family will NEVER stay at a Rodeway again. Don’t let their pictures fool you as they did me. Sleep in your car and hit up a fast food joint. You’ll be better off. If it weren’t for bed bug bites we would have given you 2 stars.

It’s a Cheap Motel. It’s not the Ritz. It’s not a hotel. I asked for a quiet room, I’m not sure what to compare it to but the noise wasn’t awful. No fighting in the parking lot or loud drunks, like you might get in San Francisco. The pros:
A two queen room was $ 80 with free parking.
Free wi fi (didn’t use it).
Close to convention center.
TV was flat screen with many channels and more than two languages.
Cons: It’s old It’s cheap. The bathroom was a little spooky because the interior wall had a very poor quality texturing of stucco like plaster (that texture always seems dirty to me). Toilet was fine but I chose to not shower.
When I wanted to leave in the morning there was a car blocking me in, they had more cars than spaces the manager went and woke the person blocking my car.
They did have «free breakfast» offering donuts, dry cereal and toast. There is a grocery about a mile away so you could buy your own fruit.
To be honest, I would not stay here again, unless I had no other choice, but for one day, it beats sleeping in your car. I think I’ll try Best Western next year. This is no place to go on a honeymoon unless your bridal registry is at Walmart.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this place, especially after reading some recent negative reviews. But we booked a room anyways because of the fair price.
We (family of 5) stayed here one night so we could wake up early and spend the next day at Disneyland. We booked a single room with two queen beds & I was honestly impressed, yes, impressed when I opened our room door. The place was clean, modern, and had a pleasant smell. The appearance was very appealing and the décor/​bedding was actually cute and not that ugly floral look that we all know and despise! Something else I liked was the lighting. So many lights and it really brightened up the place and made it feel even more cheery than we already thought it was.
The room also had a mini fridge, which worked great, even the freezer part, and a microwave. Bonus! There was also a wall-​mounted flat TV screen (24 inches?) which had plenty of channels to choose from!
The only complaint I can think to add would be that the bathrooms are small & the drains were a little annoying to work with (we gave our kids a bath after the pool) but this shouldn’t be a deal breaker for you.
One other issue we had was the wifi. It didn’t seem to work very well for us, but thankfully we were too busy swimming to really care that much.
As for the pool, it’s HEATED!!! We went swimming at 7pm at night, in November, and the water was warm! My young kids loved the pool. It was a small pool & goes up to 5ft deep. There is also a hot tub!
My kids were sad we only stayed one night. We will definitely be booking this place for our next Disney trip! You should look into it, too! :)

Sometimes cheap is just… really cheap (in every sense of the word). We definitely won’t be staying here ever again, no matter how good a «deal» it is, and we would never recommend it to friends.
Our room was musty and smelled of stale cigarette smoke, despite being a «nonsmoking room.» The beds were hard and very uncomfortable. The bedding was threadbare and ripped in places and the pillows were lumpy and/​or flat as a pancake. Towels were thin, scratchy and stained. If you decide to risk coming here (and you’re driving and have the extra room), I highly recommend bringing your own sheets, pillows, and towels, as well as some disinfecting wipes to clean all the hard surfaces.
The carpet was dirty (we kept our socks on all the time and they got filthy). Walls were dirty and had large gouges in several places. Toilet did not flush properly and had some sort of algae-​like scum in the bottom, showing that a toilet brush had not been used in a long time (if ever). There was someone else’s hair in both the bathtub and sink, and the mirror had obviously not been washed in some time. The bottom of the bathroom door was water-​warped and the trim behind the door was completely rotted out (from water damage). The shower head had hard water scum on it. The facing was peeling off the front of the dresser. There was a mini-​fridge and a very small, old microwave, but no coffee maker. The fridge was missing the dial that adjusts the thermostat, there was no longer a door on the freezer compartment, and the fridge door shelves were unusable because shelf guards were missing. We had to sleep with the A/​C fan turned on high all night to (somewhat) drown out terrible street noise. Our room keys stopped working on our final morning there, as we were making trips back and forth to pack the car… I’m sure the front desk would have fixed this for us had we asked, but we were anxious to get out of there and one of us was always in the room to let the other one in.
The free breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, dry cereal, some white bread to make toast, and some dry, boxed, convenience-​store-​type donuts… we never saw any fresh fruit, as is shown in the online pics, and there was certainly nothing in the way of protein.
Parking is extremely limited; we got lucky because someone happened to leave just as we arrived, but other guests had to park offsite.
The wi-​fi signal was weak and never really worked for us… we ended up turning off wi-​fi on our phones because things just wouldn’t load.
We did not try the pool, but it was tiny and I don’t think we missed anything by skipping it. If I owned this place, I think I would seriously consider getting rid of the pool in favor of adding more parking spaces.
Our primary concern was the lack of cleanliness and overall poor maintenance of the room. At least the front desk staff we dealt with were nice, and check-​in/​check-​out was handled quickly and efficiently.
The motel is relatively close (exactly a mile) to Disneyland… If you want to walk, it should take you about 20 minutes. The Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) bus stops in front of the motel right next door (Stanford Inn & Suites), which is convenient. The motel is located on the main drag (Harbor Blvd), so there are a variety of restaurants & stores nearby. It’s also very near the Anaheim Convention Center.
It appears that this motel was undergoing some renovations while we were staying there, so perhaps there will be an improvement for future guests, but our experience was very unpleasant and we won’t be back.

I’m surprise to see such low reviews — sure the room isn’t hotel status, but for it’s pricing and location i say it’s a pretty good deal. I had a 2 queen bed room and the room was decent size — clean with microwave, tv, fridge, iron and coffee maker — there also free coffee and breakfast at the office. Very cheap to rent here — I believe 120 for 2 nights? And they provide you Disneyland tickets and shuttles and discount tickets to other theme parks. I enjoyed my stay quite much

I have stayed here before…
Pros: Proximity to Anahiem Convention CenterDisneyland is the only thing going for this hotel.
Cons: Room door locks. Seems every time I use the key card it disables it. Pretty much every time I used it I had to go back to the front desk and get a new one. No apology though. This seems to be a theme.
Paper thin towels, sheets, blankets and pillows.
My Orbitz receipt stated I would have a microwave in the room. There was none.
Huge roach in bathroom. Slept with the bathroom door closed and a towel wedged under.
Not enough parking spots plus a great many guests who have no idea what it means to park between the lines.
The hot tub needs to be two or three degrees warmer. This was also a problem last year when i stayed here.
Many of the guests were smokers and hung outside in the common areas smoking and chatting until late in the evening.
I know the Wi-​Fi was free when it kept knocking me off. could barely check my email…
When checking out I asked for a hard copy of my paid receipt. Since I paid online they wanted to send it online. I finally talked the front desk into giving me one. After driving away i noticed it was for the wrong amount. Traffic was nasty so I continued driving hoping the emailed copy was going to be correct. I never received it.
Finally as I walked out the door I turned to the front desk clerk and said «You know, you never once asked me how my stay was?». He looked at me like I was from Mars.
I don’t care if it’s a budget hotel or not… a little customer service goes a long way…

Pros:
This definitely is a budget friendly Inn. You pay for what you get. If you plan on being at Disney all day and just need a place to crash for the night then this place is for you. They look like they’ve remodeled which I give this place kudos for trying.
Cons:
Taped windows, broken window screens, dirty tub, broken and noisy fridge, uncomfortable beds with small no stuffing pillows (bring your own), sand paper towels (you might as well dry yourself with sandpaper scented bleach or word to the wise, bring your own towels). More hotel rooms than parking. Breakfast? What breakfast.
Like I said just a place to sleep and a shower. Just stay at Disneyland all day, the tiredness alone will make you appreciate a decent night sleep. Would I recommend staying here again? Probably only if I felt that their cleanliness was up to par, but will most likely be finding somewhere with better quality.

We come to Disneyland at least once a year and we always stay in budget hotels as we try to save wherever we can. This is one budget hotel I would NEVER stay at again!!!
Hotel was under construction when we stayed (Late July 2014) over the summer. The construction crew took two parking spaces to store their supplies. Speaking of parking, there were not enough parking spots to accommodate their guests! But, they would have the front desk take your keys and move you car to an outside lot? Ummm… no thank you! The manager then allowed someone to illegally park in (one of two) a handicap spot so when we came back there was no parking for us. Upon speaking with the manager, he became upset and asked us if we really wanted him to go wake up the other occupants only to find out that it was his own relative parked there.
Management was extremely rude to their cleaning staff. They were short staffed and as hard as they tried, our room was never cleaned in a timely manner. They would have to clean with us in the room. We had a family suite and were only issued 4 towels at a time. When we asked for more towels they told us we would need to bring the used towels to the front desk. Absurd!
The air conditioning unit leaked water all over the carpet. Maintenance came out to repair it, but it was never fixed while we were there. I hate to think of the mold and mildew under the floor.
WiFi was free and they had four different sources to choose from. But, it would rarely connect for us. We would contact the front desk and they would tell us they would reset it. We gave up after the second night.
The continental breakfast was a joke! The bread and cereal was stale. That was about all there was to offer aside from the coffee and juice.
I understand the phrase; you get what you pay for; but this was outrageous! I can’t even begin to tell you how awful this experience was for myself and my family and I will never step one foot in this establishment again.

Clearly it’s not a 5 start hotel but you get what you pay for.
If you’re looking to go to Disneyland and you’re on a budget, this is a great place to consider. It’s conveniently located by other shopping centers, it’s near Disneyland, continental breakfast is good, and the rooms are clean. The only downside is parking. The parking lot is small… not enough spaces to accommodate all their guests.
