Muppet Vision 3D

Love it and it is funny. There is a frozen show there now and I saw the show and talked to a cast member. They said that they just covered up the muppet stuff and, muppet vision will be returning soon!

I’m somewhat disappointed to report that I fell asleep prior to the start of the Muppet Vision 3D show inside the Disney California Adventure Park. I was snoring too.
Twas a scorching hot day at the amusement park and after partaking in several adult beverages, I was getting tired. The theater was air conditioned, the seats were comfy, the lights were dim, and I believe I closed my eyes for a moment to adjust to the 3D glasses. Sorry, I can’t hang.
I really couldn’t tell you if the show was good or not. I do remember seeing it once before, but that was years ago. The mind tends to recall only what it thinks is important and the Muppets are not very high on my list of priorities. I haven’t even seen any of the recent live action movies that’s been out.
On a side note, I do suggest taking the kids to the show. Repeating, every 20 minutes, it’s about as innocent and fun as it can be. The pre-​show draws your attention and it’s a nice break for the adults. As you can tell, I took full advantage of it.
For those of you who grew up watching the Muppet Babies on TV, this will bring back some nostalgia. That’s the last thing I remembered before I fell asleep. I dreamt of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker making an episode cameo to support the main cast of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Scooter, Skeeter, Rowlf the Dog, and Gonzo. WAKA! WAKA!

I love the Muppets, and normally I would jump at any chance to see a performance by them (especially at Disney California Adventure). But, man… this show is kinda boring.
Granted, some of the 3D effects are nice, and it’s fun to see Sweetums, Waldorf and Statler, and the Swedish Chef in the theater (though you have to turn to see the Chef — he’s the projectionist, and there’s no prompt to look around for him during the show). However, once you see the movie, that’s about it. No real reason to go back for repeat visits (although the preshow is quite funny).
Overall, it’s a fun way to sit and relax between rides, but otherwise Muppet Vision 3D is only worth going for the Disneyland Resort completist.
PS — it took me a while to realize that the spaceship wrecked outside the theater is the Pigs in Space vessel…

This is a fun little show. Nice place to cool off, and pretty entertaining. Check it out if you haven’t before.

To anyone that grew up with the Muppets and the Muppet Show, this is a must see attraction. It’s a 4D experience. They have live muppets in the theatre, Statler & Waldoff in the balcony, and then the rest of the muppet cast in Muppet Vision on the screen.
Watching this just brings a smile to my face and floods my emotions with nostalgia. I love it. Sadly the attraction is not as popular now a days, but that means it’s easier to find a seat! Also wise to get there early as there is a pre-​show that happens in the waiting room. So you are not just stuck waiting in line bored.

Every twenty minutes, a new show begins!
It’s a 3D show, and you get your 3D glasses as you walk into the building. Once inside the building, they have a big, highly decorated waiting area with old school televisions that display a pre-​show that can hold the attention of children — that’s always good — and adults! Clever. The theater is big, and there are a lot of seats. I wouldn’t sit too close to the screen; maybe at least ten rows back for a good view that doesn’t strain your neck or your eyes. The show is a fairly old one, and they haven’t touched the actual film, like, ever. Nonetheless, I still occasionally will enjoy this attraction when I visit. It’s the Muppets! It’s my childhood! It’s also a great place to get out of the heat or the rain for an extended period of time!

I’m not a Muppets fan, but this place is a wonderful spot to cool down and even take a quick nap at! I’ve seen the show over a dozen times and it’s cute and funny. Like others have said there is never a line and always many seats available so you don’t feel cramped. Would highly recommend if you are ever overheated, need a place to take a chair nap, or love the muppets!

Great «ride» at California Adventure. Never a line and a nice break to sit down, cool off, dry off, etc.
Same show as the one in MGM Studios in Disney World. The ending is a little cuter at MGM, as the background behind firetruck that kermit rides in is what you would see if there was actually a hole in the theater.
The preshow is pretty adorable, and they even did a nice job tying in a plug for the newest muppet movies.
I’m a big muppets fan, so I love the humor in this one. I’m not a big Sam Eagle fan, but for whatever reason he steals the show for me. The 3D muppet is kinda weird and scary IMO.

I have always loved all the Muppet Vision 3D movies I’ve seen, and this Muppet Vision 3D movie is no different. And although I was sitting front-​stage at one of the performances on one day, I felt like the «trombones were going to hit me, when they were slid out» (the effects feel real, but from watching other 3D movies at these theme parks, I know they’re not… just the Disney way of making better 3D movies).
My wait wasn’t all that long when I was there, but things were moving, and even when we entered, you could see overtop of your head, that as the last group exited, the next group was beginning to pile into the theater again for the next performance.
I’ve always been a Muppet fan, and when I noticed some classic characters from the one balcony, several on screen, and then Mr. Sweetums makes his appearance, well, goes to show you that you are surely in for a treat!

(My feelings about the show have not changed, pls see my last review.) This review is based on my brand new 3 yr old’s experience.
The 8 min wait in the holding room was probably the longest wait we had all day. (Yes it pays to come to DL on the first day of school because we get to literally walk on to all the rides/​shows.) The kid enjoyed the tv introductions — heartily laughing throughout.
Once in the theatre, he remained happy and laughing. Based on his reactions his favourite parts were the bubbles raining down, the 3d jumping out at him (it was so funny to see him try to dodge and even touch the 3d characters), and watching Sweetums run back and forth in front of the stage, also the cannon fire.
He least liked wearing the glasses — after ¹⁄₃ way into the show, he took them off and refused to put them back on, just watching w/​out the glasses… didn’t take away from his enjoyment tho.
*did not recall hearing music on the way in or on the way out of… it would of been nice to hear «rainbow connection» …

So yeah it usually takes a lover of the Muppets to rate this particular attraction this high, but that does not dissipate the enjoyment this particular attraction provided from the characters to the jokes.
I absolutely love Statler and Waldorf for they’ve always been able to make me laugh almost into tears.
Oh oh… all this excitement has gotten me so excited that I almost forgot to explain the basic premise of this 3D Interactive Show. After one waits in the queue area that is filled with many of the show’s characters and given shaded 3D glasses to then find a spot for the show… remember to move all the way down as really middle seating is for those lucky enough to truly end up there.
When you are instructed to put on your 3D glasses you will then be treated to a funny and cool 3D interactive show that will last roughly about 20 minutes.
This attraction will make for a great place to rest your feet from a long day of walking, standing, and waiting.
I will definitely agree with others that in the 13+ years this show has been running (it’s one of the original attractions of the park) that they do need to update the whole show so hopefully that is in the works!
Marvel at all the vibrant colors you’re surrounded by… you’ll feel like a Double Rainbow all the way blew up on you!
Just a note: This is the same show as the one at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando (well really Lake Buena Vista) Florida.

Maybe I’m a bit biased because I really enjoyed watching the Muppets when I was a youngster but this show is pretty entertaining. The 3D special effects are pretty good but what makes this show really pop is that the characters are also on display. Those old grouchy men, Statler and Waldorf, are up in the balcony still talking trash. Mr Sweetums makes a couple of appearances and parades around toward the front of the theater. I don’t want to spoil the rest of it for those who have never attended this show BUT if you want a 3D movie that includes Muppets walking around and starting trouble from the balcony and behind the projector, then this show is for you.

This is the same exact show as MGM Movie Studio in Orlando. If someone told me that beforehand, I still would have gone to it. And I did.
Great Muppet banter and comedy. The 2D preshow was even funny.
Go to this one. It takes advantage of the 3D effects and it’s a good family comedy show as well.

This is a fun show you have to see at least once — with or without kids! I’ve seen it the last 3 times I’ve been to the park & it’s fun to watch with someone who hasn’t seen it before. There’s 3D, 4D, and live action so kids will enjoy it — especially the «surprise guest» that appears.
Just this past June, I was here with my BF who hasn’t been to the park in about 15 years & he wanted to check it out. I think he liked sitting down in a dark air conditioned room more than the show — because he fell asleep!

The theater is the size of Lincoln’s on Main. It is spacious and I don’t know if it ever get filled to capacity. The space designated for line control rivals that of the Radiator Springs Racers… so I was expecting epic awesomeness.
My son doesn’t like glasses on his face, so he watched it without the 3-​D glasses. You can still get the gist from the sounds, etc. There’s a song and dance at the end by Miss Piggy that he loved, so it appears against my will, I will be back.

This is a 3D show attraction featured at the Disney Studios at California Adventure Park.
Basically once the show starts, you are given a tour of the Muppet Studios where you get to see various 3D effects shown by different Muppet characters. Then you meet Waldo, a computer-​generated Muppet during the demonstration in the Muppet Labs. And it all basically leads up to a big patriotic number put together by Sam the Eagle, which is my favorite part of the show.
Not the biggest fan of the Muppets, but my daughter likes the show and occasionally asks to see it, so I just look at it as a great place to sit and rest my feet in some comfortable chairs and air conditioning.

Well, we THOUGHT we were going to watch Muppet 3D but apparently they’ve replaced it with a (glorified) trailer of the OZ movie. I still gave it 5 stars b’c the trailer was pretty enjoyable to watch and yes, it did convince me to at least be intrigued about it when the movie comes out. Since we were caught off guard, my toddler wasn’t too thrilled with some of the scary parts but we got through it and she even clapped and said «yay» when Oz got through the big tornado (comeon, that’s not a spoiler, right? We all know he HAS to survive it!)

A little dated and a little silly but a great spot to get out of the CA sun for 15 minutes and enjoy The Muppets for a bit!

Show seems a bit outdated. There are other 3D shows all over Disney and this one seemed just… bleh…
Love the muppets… but we went here to kill time before we had to go to our ride that we had a fast pass for.
Worth seeing once, but probably not twice

Aww. the Muppets are back in 3D! I always like watching shows in 3D since you wear these cool glasses and see cheesy stuff pop out towards the audience. The story line is not that great for this show, but it’s always a pleasure to see Gonzo, Miss Piggy, and Kermit on the screen.
Other Unilocalers may not like this show, but I don’t think it’s a waste of time. You get some shelter if the weather is too hot or if it is raining outside.
