Leon Picture Frames

My wife is a painter. She finished two paintings and needed frames. She asked me to help
her find a good framer. After reading reviews of different frame shops I decided to call
Leon’s. Tim answered the phone and I immediately got a good feeling. My wife and I drove
to his shop to drop off her paintings. We picked them up a week later and could not be
happier. The price was a bargain and the frames were perfect. Tim helped us pick out each
frame and they turned out great. We will never go anywhere else for framing.

Best framers ever! Had a papyrus artwork from Egypt that I wanted to frame, after picking up my framed artwork it was even more stunning than it was before framing. Would definitely go here for all my framing needs

Was looking for an alternative to big box framing/​craft stores, saw the reviews on Leon Picture Frames, decided to try them. Read that many local artists use Leon, so I tend to believe they might know something. Place appears cluttered because there are tons of picture frames along with staged, pending jobs. Tells me they are busy, and maybe for a reason. We had an original watercolor reframed along with a matted photo we acquired recently at Sawdust. Tim’s suggestions were greatly appreciated. Our framing was done when promised and looks great. Will absolutely be going back in the future.

He did an excellent job framing a rug for us. The price was decent, especially compared to other quotes I received. It was ready a day ahead of schedule.

I came in today with a picture in my hand to try and get a custom frame. The owner or employee was helping a couple out before I came in. He never greeted me or acknowledged my presence AT ALL and I was there for a good 15 minutes. They weren’t in the middle of anything that was too important to acknowledge my presence, in fact there were many moments of silence. Needless to say I didn’t get my custom frame — not even a hello.

Tim was extremely helpful, precise and dedicated to quality service when working on framing a challenging set of art prints for me. Despite my many adjustments and changes to the pieces, he was extremely kind and always willing and ready to help. He even designed custom double matting for my prints. I love the end result and highly recommend him for anyone looking for quality service and products. Thank you, Tim!

I am an artist and so need many frames. No one is better than Tim at Leon’s. He has an excellent selection, will switch out liners if needed, place paper on the back to protect the canvas and wire it so each piece is ready to hang. If you have a piece that needs matting and glass he is the best. Very reasonable and customer service is excellent. Love Leon’s!!!

This is by far the best framing place in Orange County and wish I would have done my research sooner. After getting quoted at a big box retail framing store for an absurd amount to frame a canvas, I looked to see what other options were out there. The reviews for Leon’s were all very positive and thought «what do I have to lose?» Turns out I lost nothing and saved myself literally hundreds of dollars. So happy I checked them out! They have a great selection of frame options, probably 100s more options than other framing places. The owner was very helpful and took time to help me find the perfect frame. Not only did the great price blow me away but it also had a faster turn around then other stores were quoting. I will definitely be using them again and recommend this place to anyone who needs framing.

They are the best framers ever. I got a carpet art wall that no one could frame but they did a fantastic job with reasonable price. I will never go to some one else for framing.

Best place in Orange County for frames. Been going here since 1990. Love their service and prices. My husband gets all his canvases and frames here.

I’m so pleased with the selection, service and PRICES at Leon’s, I’m sorry I didn’t come sooner! Tons of ready-​made frames & canvas and immediate installation for half the price of national frame chains. They also custom make frames and have hundreds of styles to choose from. If there are too many choices, they are happy to help you choose.
As an artist, I’m sure that I’ll be a regular customer now that I’ve found Leon’s.

The cost of the new frame for my grandfather’s sketch was absolutely reasonable, the quality of material and craftsmanship would cost a LOT more elsewhere. Tim also helped select a frame style and color that complimented the work without overwhelming it. And recognizing the heirloom value, Tim recommended a UV protecting glass — such a terrific touch that I wouldn’t have thought of. All around great experience. Thank you, Unilocal friends!!!

We had a huge (about 5’x6’) canvas painting that we needed stretched and mounted for hanging. After numerous phone calls to shops around the county, Tim was the most responsive and most helpful. He also happens to be a heck of a nice guy.
Tim did a great job at a reasonable price, and helped me wrap and load the painting into a truck. He also dissuaded me right of the bat (thankfully!) from the idea of putting the mounted painting on the roof of our car, even though we only live a few minutes away. Even if we didn’t live a few minutes away, I’d go out of my way to have Tim do my next framing job.

I have been coming to Leon’s since 2005 and have always been happy with the high quality, affordability, and great customer service with framing. I recently had an experience where Tim went above and beyond. I had a painting done on Vellum that had badly bubbled and buckled from the wood it was attached to. The painting was something I had already sold, and my customer wanted me to take it to her framers to get it fixed. When I called them and told them it was on Vellum they said «good luck with that» and admonished me for the way I had mounted it. But when I called Tim, he told me about a special cold mount press he had and offered to run a sample to see if it would work. When I came in, he dropped what he was doing to help me, and within a half an hour, he transformed what I thought was a hopeless situation into a miracle. The re-​mounted painting was absolutely flat and showed no signs of the distress it had been through. AHHMAZING. Plus, he didn’t shame me or make me feel bad about the way I had mounted it myself, even saying that without having a professional mount I had done it the logical way. I have always loved this place, but didn’t realize how great it was until I had the opportunity to compare it to another highly reputable place. Tim is a really honest, caring person who takes pride in his work and is willing to find a solution to even the most complicated problems.

Do yourself a favor and don’t ever go anywhere else to get anything framed! If you go to Leon’s you are sure to get impeccable customer service, great prices, a huge selection to choose from, and an insanely quick turn-​around time. I have bought canvases from them, brought things in last minute, and have always turned to them for framing needs and they have NEVER let me down. Tim is such a friendly hard working guy and as an artist and procrastinator extraordinaire I am forever in his debt. If you are in or near the Orange County area please support this small business. Leon’s has been around forever — but the owner’s name is Tim :) Whenever I go in there, there is always at least one artist framing up something for a show. Unlike Aaron Bros or Michael’s, a lot of Leon’s business is in the art community and not standard retail shoppers –which is pretty cool– probably because the business is honest and isn’t about gouging any one.
Leon’s has survived because of word of mouth — their storefront is in a semi-​industrial section with little walk by traffic –they don’t have a web presence — but everyone knows them and loves them.
Oh yeah, they have stretched canvas super cheap and more readymade frames than anyone (not photo frames with glass, but larger ones good for canvases.)
For all artists, I recommend a visit — they’re across the street from Ganahl Lumber
