Great chips and salsa. The food was descent. Not great but not horrible. Service was slow and messed up multiple orders or maybe it was just our server that didn’t write anything down. Would eat here again but request different server.

This restaurant has gone down hill. The remodel is horrible along with the food. We loved this place a long time ago. The staff is horrible. Food is really really bad! Won’t ever be back. I would rather go around the corner to del taco!!!

Really love this place for its all you can eat menudo for 10 dollars. My nephew also had there beef nachos it would of been better if they used carna asada but if I’m ever craving menudo I know we’re to go to

Real authentic food. Family spot. Frank, the owner makes you feel like you are part of his family. Very caring. Food is reasonable price but very tasty. My to go to spot. I has had my father’s funeral catered from La Casa Garcia. They were on time and we’re accommodating to my needs. Many guest asked where food was from. They said it was delicious.

My SO and I went this past Saturday (⁰⁴⁄₀₉). She had the Menudo, she said that it was the best Menudo she has had, not comparable to her Grandma’s menudo, of course, but the best restaurant menudo she has had. Not to mention it was only $ 9.95 for all you can eat and the bowls are huge! I had a nice big bowl of Albondigas. Besides my own albondigas, I have never tasted albondigas so tasty and delicious. we also shared a pitcher of their Strawberry Margarita, very delicious, the only thing i will complain about is i wish it was a little sweeter (i added sugar to ours). I cant complain about the service, it wasnt bad at all. We agreed we will definitely be going back!

Everything on the menu is great! Menudo is all you can eat! Plus, Awesome customer service! Love this place!

This review is just for their lunch buffet. Be forewarned that this is authentic stuff, the real deal. Salsas pack a punch, their ribs were thick and sauce was yummy. The rest of the stuff was good too, although greasy and not visually appealing. The service was friendly and prompt. I don’t know what the regular menu is like but it may be more gringo-​friendly.

This place was terrible. The food was too over priced and just the service was terrible. The server was more focused on his tip then he was anything else. To top it off the food did not settle well for me or my mom. We really should of checked the ratings on here before we came here.

Was great before the remodel. Now te food is always cold and they don’t get it. We told the lady 3 times that it was cold and every time she brought it back it was cold. Wow.

Buffet food looks like it was leftovers from yesterday. Not many choices either. Very disappointing for a restaurant with such a good reputation

Worth the stop, 6 hr drive to. get home but just had to stop. Only one bowl of menudo because I’ll be sitting for a few hours otherwise I would have taken advantage of the all you can eat menudo.
Large bowl, good portion, great and fast service and great prices.
Found this gem and have returned time and time again over the last 3 years.

I live and work close by to this place and don’t remember when the last time I was here before this Tuesday. Was bored of my usual places for lunch so I decided to give them a shot!!! Totally bad move!
The restaurant looks remodeled which was nice. I brought my girlfriend for lunch, we couldn’t decide on what to eat, so we had their lunch Buffett which by the sign outside of the building is something new this year.
The lady at the Buffett was very nice and offered us some hand made tortillas. The food was mediocre at best.
Unfortunately this food did not sit well with either one of us, a couple of hours later, there was rumbling in my belly. And I could tell it was not going to be good. To get to the chase, I have been sick with diarrhea for the last 24 hours.
Next time To avoid the runs I’ll drive into Santa Ana for good Mexican food that won’t make me sick.

This is one of my go-​to spots when I’m in town. The food is fast, and everything I’ve had has always been decently yummy. Not the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life or anything, but definitely good. Service can be spotty. I’ve had some super-​attentive servers and others, not so much.
I have a pretty specific diet which involves seafood but not dairy, and last time I was there I special-​requested seafood enchiladas minus cheese/​sour cream/​etc … they didn’t even bat an eye, and when it came, it was really delicious. I’m always grateful when places can make accommodations and they are friendly about it!

Man, I used to LOVE this place. The last few times I’ve come it’s been kind of «meh» but today was a bit too ghetto even for me. I really hope the owner reads these reviews.
I got a simple wet style bean and cheese burrito with a side of sour cream and shredded lettuce. I am NOT a picky person and have eaten questionable food all over the world, but this was straight up ghetto. The lettuce was brown and soft, my slice of lime was half rotten, the beans tasted old and the «red» sauce was brown and gummy. The whole thing was lukewarm and to top it all off the knife looked like it had been given to a tiger for a chew toy. I have to say I’m also put off that the whole restaurant is a shrine to Frank. God forbid anyone should leave that place not knowing what an amazing person he is.
It makes me sad leaving this review because it’s been a favorite place of mine for 16 years, but unless things drastically change I won’t be going back.

The food, for being Mexican, is average. It’s rather pricey, too.
My biggest problem here is the staff, particularly the owners, who aren’t really friendly or welcoming. Several times I’ve come in for to go orders and I’ve felt quite judged… It makes me laugh because Mr. Garcia himself published a book and has it displayed (far too proudly) in the restaurant as if it were a NY Times Bestseller. Kinda conceited, kinda weird.

Ok … I used to like this place. Since their remodel it has lost its personality. It used to have a great home cooking /​cantina like vibe. Now it looks unfinished, haphazard and not comfortable. The layout is boring and scarce. When you come in, they ask breakfast or dinner… WTF ?
I noticed if you say breakfast, you don’t get chips and salsa. This is STUPID. I want to at least be seated and see a menu before deciding on what I want to eat. Even though I come for their ALL YOU CAN EAT MENUDO, it would be nice to look over menu AT MY CHOICE. the waitress was very strange. (she did not introduce herself to us). I called her that MULLETT HAIRED WOMAN (look for her). I gave my drink choice and she responded with a very strange look and expression that both myself and wife later asked ourselves — «what’s up with her? «.
We had to «chase «her for refills. I asked for PATA on side with menudo. She did not bring it. So we asked, then she responded «is it in the soup? «. I said I asked for it on side, so why in the fuck would I check in the soup (which you can tell it wasn’t. Then she took her sweet fucking time bringing it. She was rude and weird. Like WE were bothering her or something. She never came by to check on us and THAT really pissed me off. When she brought the menudo she slammed the bowl down and ironically burned her hand. No apologies given. We really wanted to experience what we remembered about this place but it has failed. Which is too bad. Look for MULLETT WOMAN, maybe she will tell you her name since we didn’t get it.

Came in during happy hour and on a Tuesday for what I thought was going to be taco Tuesday! Well that stopped 3 months ago. Boooo!
I got the carnitas. I used to go to Mexican restaurants and order the carnitas and say «it’s a good restaurant based on the carnitas.» Well if I based my decision on today’s carnitas, I wouldn’t come back. It’s dry.
The service is still mediocre. Better off going to Sobrosos down the street.

Always seated right away! Food is served pretty quickly. The cups for drinks are super big which is a plus!
I always get the all you can eat menudo! They serve you a huge bowl so there never a need for seconds! The menudo is delicious! Very yummy flavor! They also give homemade tortillas which are so delicious and soft! So yummy with butter!
The reason for 4 stars is because my boyfriend and came and we got the usual (menudo) and they gave us just regular store bought corn tortillas instead of the ones the hand make. We normally come on the weekends but this time we came on a Monday. I don’t know if that’s the reason, but it was a bummer because I was expecting what I’ve been getting every other time!
Other than that, food is great, service is good and we will be coming back!

Yes! YES YES YES!!!
On my first visit, we met some family here on a cold rainy morning for breakfast. We were told it is the best menudo around (next to homemade). Not only is it the best, it is all you can eat! I don’t know how you’d eat more than the ginormous bowl you are served… but hey, go for it! Everyone at the table said it was the best ever. That says a lot since I was the only gringo at the table. :)
I, however, opted for the chile verde with beans and rice… comes served with a delicious helping of roasted potatoes. The chile verde has got a different flavor or something, but it was really very excellent.
The breakfast menu is small, but every single item looks mouth-​watering and tempting! It was hard to decide!
Something caught my eye on the menu… the bloody mary. Hmmm… do I go for it? I am extremely picky when it comes to them but something told me to go ahead and try it. I ordered one extra spicy and it came beautifully garnished with celery for days! I didn’t quite need a hedge trimmer, but it was very remarkable. The drink itself was perfection, probably one of the best Bloody Marys I’ve ever had… all 3 of them were.
The owners are almost always there, which says a lot when they’ve been in business for around 40 years. The place started out small and has grown into a nice size place to eat and enjoy family. Not too fancy, but the food is just really good stuff. Since my original visit, I’ve tried several items off the menu; tacos, albondigas, enchiladas and have yet to be disappointed!
Very pleased to have been introduced this gem. I look forward to many visits in the future!
