We had leak I had already determined was from the shower, but I’m no plumber or handyperson so I wasn’t going to bust through the drywall to find out. We found Drainex through Homeadvisor. The «standard service» just to find out the problem was $ 185 which I found to be extremely high. But when you know you have a leak, you don’t want to take a chance, you just want to make sure it’s not a bad one. So I said fine, please find out what it is. He used a saw and opened up the laundry room ceiling, below the tub. It was the tub drain.
The estimated cost to repair the drain was way more than I expected it to be on top of the $ 185 fee I just paid for someone to cut a hole in my ceiling. For 15 minutes of time, it was an absolute rip off. I would understand maybe $ 100 for time & travel, and even that’s a little on the high end since many companies would not charge at all in hopes that you would go with their service.
A side note, which is a personal thing, I have a one year old who crawls and walks barefoot and touches the floor a lot. The plumber walked through the house with his work boots on which bothered me because who knows what they walk through on their jobs.
I ended up going with another company, that was HALF the price, did it by himself (Drainex estimated they would need 2 people), work covered with warranty, AND was courteous enough to wear plastic booties to cover his work shoes without me even having to ask. Overall, Drainex did not meet my expectations and had we gone with them would have felt extremely ripped off.

This place is awesome after having so much trouble finding myself a nice realiable plumber. Then after a few trys with other companies. I finally came across this company and wow there customer service was super amazing they had really nice employees. They did a PHENOMENAL job I would RECOMMEND there service to anyone. We are very pleased with the work done by Ronny at Drainex Rooter and Plumbing. We found them through Home Advisor last year when we suspected we had a gas leak. They came right away, immediately went down into our crawl space and quickly found the leak. After repairing the leak they inspected the rest of the gas pipes and made a few adjustments for better support. They worked down there until 8pm and even though they emerged covered in «under the house dirt»…you would never know they were even here. So clean! A few weeks ago we had Ronnie come again due to a leaking washing machine pipe/​hookup. He inspected everything thoroughly and was able to clear the leak quickly.
We highly recommend Drainex… they are very responsive, easy to work with, reasonably priced and have great customer service. Plus… they fix problems quickly!

Drainex folks were professional, courteous, and explained every part of the job. These folks removed an existing kitchen gas line, rerouted it from it’s current location and then put back the dry wall, taped the enclosure, and puttyed to finish off the work.
When it came to making sure my stove would fit it the enclosure (it didn’t), they spent extra time cutting wood surrounding the tile and cabinet areas to ensure that I had a perfect fit.
One last thing needed to be done for my slide in range — in order to have the right amount of space, we needed a 90 degree small pipe to redirect the gas line to be flush with the stove.
These steps ensured a perfect fit and an awesome job done by the team.
From estimation to delivery and clean up, these guys were top notch.
Thank you Jose and Ron for a job well done, right after fixing pipes at a hotel which caused them to work continuously for 26 hours!!!

Had Jose come out and give me an estimate on a whole house repipe. Can’t say enough about the service and great attitude. Price was great, Jose and Ronnie were prompt, professional and courteous. Worked with us on any concerns that my wife and I had during the job and we were very pleased with the final job. Jose handling everything regarding he city permits and inspectors — the project was approved with flying colors! We definite;y recommend Jose and Drainex for any plumbing work.

An update to my previous post.
I never really expected anything to come of this review, i just posted the previous experience. Apparently they have had a management changeover there because I have been in communication with the new office manager and she was very helpful and courteous. They offered to come out and review the previous job at no charge, i declined that because it has already been all fixed up and there would be nothing they could do. They took care of me in another manner by offering a token of good will that they didn’t have to do nor was I expecting it.
Due to these recent events I have updated my review and in light of the much more responsive management I would defiantly give Drainex another chance.

Rip off artistry at its best. Charged $ 450 to fix a leak in elbow joint that my husband opened the wall for him. 30 minutes work at best. Was a homeowners insurance claim but when allstate said they did not cover plumbing Jose would not reduce the bill. My handiman could of done that for $ 100 tops. Don’t use this company!

I don’t know what happened here, but these guys have completely dropped the ball.
After my first experience with them which I gave them 5-​stars for, I eagerly called them up again for another toilet problem a few months ago. A guy came over and it turned out that I just needed to replace the fill valve, which was probably over 20 years old. He offered to do it for $ 120, which sounded a bit high. So, I said I can just take care of it myself. He proceeded to tell me that the part costs less than $ 20 and it’s really easy to replace. Huh??? So, why would you charge me $ 100 for easy labor???
Since he was already at my place, I offered him $ 50. I thought $ 20 for the parts and $ 30 for the labor was fair. He had to call it in to check if that was okay, and then said $ 90 was the lowest they could go. Fine, I’ll just do it myself! I bought the fill valve at Home Depot for $ 12 and having never doing something like this before, I followed the instructions and replaced it in 20 minutes. They wouldn’t take $ 50 for that and would rather waste a house call???
That’s not all…
At least the guy was cool enough to let me know what needed to be done, so I gave them another chance. This time I had a leak in yet another toilet. I called up Drainex and gave the secretary the lowdown, and she said she’d check with the guys and give me a call back to set up a time. She never called back. Not to mention that she had a strong accent and was not very quick, so we were both repeating ourselves over and over, making it quite a frustrating experience.
I reluctantly called them back 2 more times with the same results. She never remembered who I was and I had to repeat all the information again. Of course, she never called back.
Three strikes. You’re out.

EXPEENNNSSIIIIVEEEEE! They definately over charge for their service! We were desperate and needed someone to stop the water from a busted pipe in our backyard. They did the job but for 4x the amount another plumber quoted us (couldn’t come out). We explained that the other plumber quoted us much much smaller amount… they took an advantage and hike up the price! I wouldn’t use them again because I like my money spend on other things besides plumbing

I had to use Drainex 2 times because we have an older home in Long Beach that always needs some kind of repairs. Each time we called the girl that answered «Norma» was friendly and they came by that day for me. Though our repairs were minor, we found the prices very fair and feel we have always gotten a straight answer. I dont understand a review from «katch t.» only giving him one star… My experience has always been totally different and I have recommended them and my friends were also happy. A good contact to keep if you want a reliable, honest, and fair priced plumber.

«Customer satisfaction is our first priority.» Talk about false advertising! This is the worst plumbing company ever. Do NOT call this company if you want to actually fix any of your plumbing problems. If you want to take a day off of work to wait for these guys you will be wasting a perfectly good day off because they don’t even show up when they say they will. If you value your time and want your plumbing problems actually solved, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. I don’t know how this company stays in business.

When the ol’ water heater started leaking, I needed a good plumber for the job. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a decent plumber on Unilocal.So, what’s a person to do in this age of modern technology? Go old school. Yes, I used the handy-​dandy yellow pages (combined with the Better Business Bureau’s online site) to find me a decent plumber. Drainex to the rescue!
After making an appointment, a worker made his way down to my place, inspected my heater, and gave me a short list of options. It turned out that my water heater didn’t need replacement, but simply a quick fix. However, my old water heater seemed to be on its last legs, so I figured a new one would do us some good, especially with winter just around the corner.
Anyway, the plumber that showed up turned out to be the owner (Jose Castro), and he took care of us. He had the old heater out and conveniently replaced within a few hours (same day!). Jose and his employees took care of everything (installation, transport of both units, and disposal of the older heater, too). With many of today’s businesses moving forward with technological advances, it’s nice to know that great customer service still exists.
These guys at Drainex are super knowledgeable, courteous, and take the time to weigh out your options with you. If you’re ever in need of a fully licensed and insured plumber (for both residential and commercial jobs) with over twenty years of experience, Jose and the Drainex team are the guys to call. They’re available seven days a week, twenty-​four hours a day. They offer senior and/​or new client discounts, too.
