Carousel Inn & Suites

Cory was FANTASTIC and incredibly helpful. We had a large group and he was very friendly and made our experience great! You can’t beat the location either being a short walk across the street to the Disney park entrances. Rooms were clean and relatively updated. Nothing fancy but definitely improved the quality of our trip to Disney.

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Disney.
The only pro of the hotel is the location. It was nice to be able to easily walk back and forth from the park.
All the cons have already been written about in detail here already. Ridiculous hidden fees which aren’t advertised when booking the room, room wasn’t ready when we arrived, they advertise park tickets to save waiting in line but didn’t have any when I asked. There is also only 1 tiny garbage can in the room (we were a family of 4). Also, the bathrooms are extremely small. Housekeeping also turns off the AC when they come in so room was really stuffy when we got back after day at the park.
The only reason I booked the room was because there was a deal advertised, $ 179 canadian/​night. Though after all the fees we paid well over $ 200 per night. Though in hindsight, that was really no deal at all for what we got. We will not be staying here again given all the options in the area; I would advise anyone reading this to consider other hotels as well.

Booked two rooms 5÷6−5÷8 for the Tinkerbell Marathon. I had major trepidation about staying here because of some of what I read on Unilocal.We’re also used to staying at Disneyland’s Grand Californian, but they were booked. Had no other choice and expected the worse.
Started things off on a negative note when we couldn’t check in. I understand they needed to get rooms ready, but I wanted to get in and change. Was «guaranteed» that it would be ready by 4. One room was ready at 4 but the other hadn’t been inspected yet. (grrrrr). Finally got in the room at 4:40. Was irked to see that they charge $ 6.95 for 12 hours of wi fi. (What is this…1997?) $ 14 per night for valet parking in a very cramped space. The room had one small trash can which must drive the housekeepers nuts. Relented and bought the wi fi to find it was the slowest I’ve used in years.
…now the good stuff. We got a room that had no one below or above us, which was nice. No elevator, but only one small flight of stairs. The rooms were spacious and clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, the staff was friendly, the TV was new with a wide variety of channels, the rooftop pool has a nice view of the park, (although the less said about the gym, the better.) Super close to the entrance to Disneyland.
All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. Because it was Mother’s Day weekend, I paid too much ($ 259 per room per night), but as we’re season pass holders, we’ll probably return during the off season. Also, skip the expensive sub-​par Italian places in Downtown Disney and order pasta from Carolina’s down the street. They deliver and their food is better, not to mention half the price of Naples.

You have to pay for wifi & parking, no curtains for the beacon of light in our room all night, very loud and were woken up all night, didn’t refill our coffee or water bottles all weekend, lumpy pillows
Good things were the location & pizza place!

I am an annual pass holder at Disneyland and I live 4 hours away from the park so we stay in the area often. Normally we stay at Best Western but this weekend they were booked and we thought we were lucky to get a room here. WE WERE NOT LUCKY! The beds are very uncomfortable, there are NO amenities-​NO WIFI, NO Continental breakfast! The door to our refrigerator wouldn’t shut, there were no wash cloths, only one small trash can in the whole room, they have an elevator but not in the building where we were so we had to climb stairs with a 5 month old baby and stroller plus everything else we have to lug to go to the park. An annoying girl comes everyday (after the maid has already been) knocks once then walks in to replace the coffee in our room woke up our baby several times! The valet people keep honking down stairs. It is very noisy! The one star this place is getting from me is for the Pizza Press! We usually come here when we were in the area and we’re excited to be even closer which is one of the reasons we booked here. The pizza press is ALWAYS good, and is the best thing about this dump of a hotel!
Bottom line way over priced for a whole lot of hassle!

How disappointing. We have stayed here before and enjoyed the location. We booked the 3bedroom view suite $ 375 a night and got a beautiful view of the side walk, yeah. Room seemed run down. Not what we expected. When we called the front desk we were told nothing could be done? We will no longer recommend this hotel. Too many other options to deal with this. Should have payed attention to the other reviews. Live and learn

The only thing this hotel has got going for it is location. It is a 5 min walk to the Disneyland front entrance.
I am not a big Unilocaler but I needed to write this review to because of the experience I had.
The other reviews were right, this hotel does have many hidden fees.
I was originally so excited when I booked this for getting a rate of $ 107 a night. Upon check out my total was $ 155. Come on! And to charge tax on your parking fees.
The rooms were dirty. Hair on the carpet and in the shower. And another thing the other reviewers were right on is their customer service. Leora or Leona or whatever her name is-​is a very short tempered rude front desk clerk. If you ask a question she gets snappy with you. If you dont like your job get a new one!
Will never stay here again.

Wow had a great time here. Loved the friendly staff, close to Disney and the rooms were clean and comfortable and perfect for my stay. Enjoyed the pool on the roof, great views. I get that there is paid parking, it’s a tourist city people. You pay for parking at every hotel. get over it. Kudos to Housekeeping and the guest service team. Keep up the great work

My cousin and I stayed here for 2 nights during our trip to Disneyland. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and were very happy with our stay. Very conveniently located to Disneyland. Right across the street. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.

Location can’t be beat, service was great and everyone was extremely sweet and helpful. They knew it was our kids birthday and when we came back from the park there was balloons and candies on the bed … … Thank you to the manager Adrian for being so thoughtful

This place is across the street from Disneyland, but the Carousel Hotel really took us for a ride, and a very bad one at that!
Our experience and room was so bad, we literally wrote list. It started the minute we got there and I still have a bitter taste in my mouth a week later. Below, and in no particular order, are some of the issues we had with this place:
1) Mandatory valet & parking fee — $ 14 per day plus tax for the parking fee and required service to the door with our stuff. Really, the hotel does not trust us to bring our own stuff to our room? (We should have known then!)
2) Wifi Fee — $ 6.95/ 12 hours. OK, for the four of us, this would have been, including tax, just over $ 240 for the four days we were there. No thanks, we went to McDonald’s and Panera for free wifi thank you!
3)Leaky tub, broken faucet/​sink & the AC unit had water coming out of it the whole time. By the way, the water pressure was so low, we had to rinse my daughters hair in the sink!
**Please note: They had signs telling us to keep our showers short because of the drought, but its okay to have leaky plumbing? Right, let’s move on.
4) Lets talk TV — the remote control barely worked. There was no guide on the TV so you didn’t know what channels they had or what was on. We finally had to go to the office to get a guide for which channels
5) shampoo — was so bad, it dries out both daughters hair– I went to Vons and bought some.
6) Towels — there are two issues here
— first, when we arrived, there were two towels in the bathroom for four people, but they really never provided the appropriate amount of towels, ever.
— second, the quality of the towels, well, sucked. They were old and a bit hard. I considered buying towels, they were so bad.
7) Not all the lights in the bathroom worked
8) Small, tired pillows. I don’t care if there are three pillows on each bed with two in the closet, if they are tiny and flat as a pancake, it doesn’t help. Bring your own!
9) electrical outlets — there were very few and half of them did not work. This was an issue because all four of us wanted to charge our phones and electronics at the same time and could not.
10) The plug for the hair dryer was damaged and could have electrocuted someone.
11) Fridge made noise all night and day.
12) Elevators were SO slow, we just gave up on them.
13) We were told the pizza place next door gave discounts to people who stood at the carousel, but found out we needed a coupon. When my daughter went to the desk to ask for one, they said they dint have any! So much for the discount. (The pizza was really good, by the way.)
And finally, I got a call on our third day saying we needed to come back to the hotel and change rooms cause there was a plumbing problem in the room below ours. I shared that we were at least 30 minutes away and started asking questions. The person who called me said she didn’t know the details but we needed to get there right away. Well, lets just say, that call did not end the way she anticipated.
There’s more, oh so much more, but you get the idea.
We checked out, but will never, ever go back!

I was really nervous after I booked the hotel after reading the Unilocal reviews BUT after I got there I was checking the room like crazy and needless to say besides the valet charge I was really impressed. Our room was clean and ready for us when we showed up early, they took care of our car were super friendly and helpful. There were 5 of us we had a kind room suite and it was perfect. Can’t wait to come back and stay here again. The Pizza press right next to the hotel is AMAZING.

I must first say that… Nice people who work here, try their very best to keep you happy. It’s also super close to the park… literally within walking distance. The boys at Vallet parking were amazing and The Pizza Press was incredible but…

–Dripping water from the shower all night.
–I had to call in and get the technician, change a light bulb at the vanity, new iron (old one never warmed up) and change out the batteries in the key reader, as we got locked out.
–Disgusting stain on the carpet.
–And lastly… I had to defrost my own fridge because it wasn’t cooling my $ 3 waters.
—NEVER AGAIN!
Super disappointed.

We stayed here during a recent visit to Disneyland. It was our second time staying at Carousel, first visit was so-​so. This time around wasn’t much better.
Pros: Literally across the street from Disneyland. It was very convenient having a room right across the street in case you need to take a mid-​day nap or forgot your jacket/​camera/​wallet. The beds were comfy and clean. Room had nice amenities; decent size tv, microwave, good-​sized refrigerator. Staff was also very nice and courteous.
Cons: Shotty construction. Our bathroom door would not shut unless you shoved it closed which would cause a loud banging noise. Can’t imagine that being great for the room below us. Luckily no one was occupying that room. There was also an electrical outlet in the bathroom that would have been covered by a panel of moulding, they lazily cut around the outlet and didn’t bother making it look presentable. Also no free wi-​fi. I was told it is pretty much $ 12/​day for wi-​fi. I would think if free wi-​fi is available at McDonalds for buying a $ 1.00 sandwich, spending. $ 300+ on a room would give you free wi-​fi as well.
After this stay, and hearing about a friends better experience at a neighboring hotel, I don’t think it’s likely we’ll return. Like I said, nothing against the staff everyone at the front desk was great and very helpful. But the rooms looked like they were renovated with corners cut.

This hotel is very convenient located right across the street. They also have a microwave, refrigerator (larger than most hotel size), coffee & all the fresh towels you need. There is also a pizza place located right on the property where you can customize your very own 10 inch pizza for $ 10.00. What a deal, my family went crazy!
We would definitely stay here again.

We got upgraded to a Kids suite! The room is very clean and beds are so comfy. The front desk staff– Steve is nice and accommodating. I will surely stay here again next time we visit Disneyland!

We just returned from a 3 night stay in the 3 «bedroom» suite. Because we traveled w/​a couple & 2 singles, we wanted separate bedrooms so the couple could have privacy. The room was $ 399/​nite.
Pluses: across the street from Disneyland, you can just walk over. Staff were nice. The pizza place right next door is pretty good — they don’t deliver though.
Minuses: only 2 beds are actually in rooms. The 3^rd bed is located just as you walk into the suite, just kinda there in the open. The one and only bathroom is located next to this bed, so the person in it will be woken whenever the bathroom is used.
Only one bed out of the 3 has a tv, so the other 2 will watch on their phones if they’d like some tv while relaxing. The only mirrors are in the bathroom & the hallway, which is a pain while getting ready. Also, there weren’t enough outlets for the appliances, so we had to unplug the coffeemaker in order to use the safe.
In addition to our $ 399/​nite rate there were high taxes, $ 14/​day parking and $ 5/​day «resort» fee. This is definitely not a resort, I have no idea the rationalization for THAT fee. Wifi not included, and they charge for every 12 hrs rather than daily. The bathroom was the smallest I’ve seen in a hotel, there was no room to leave toiletries of any kind in there, and the towel rack was actually located on the wall inside the shower due to lack of space.
I would stay here again ONLY if they had a really good special going. This room is priced about double what it should be

The good; Nice rooms and bed is comfy enough. Larger than normal fridge in the room. Staff at the front desk is friendly. Very close to the park.
The bad; We reserved in late September. I called closer to November to ask some questions about our room and they told us we did not have a reservation. We re-​booked. They told us there was breakfast. When we checked in, they said we had 2 reservations! They cancelled the first one without a problem but I had to wait an extra couple of minutes while I was worrying about what they would do.
They give us our room and it is on the second story with NO ELEVATOR! With those of you who have a large stroller and kids, you know what a pain this can be at the end of a long day in DL. Very annoying. Try told us we could leave the stroller at the front desk, but the issue isn’t the stroller, it’s all of the stuff in it that we have to remove.
All the being said, I would still probably stay here again due to the close proximity to the park.

On top of the horrible experience — we got to our car and my husbands Oakley sunglasses that were issued to him while he served in the US Army were gone. We asked the valet, he played stupid, and we left because we were so pissed. My husband was super upset as the sunglasses hold a lot of sentimental value to him. He’s still upset about this and told me they cannot be replaced. Such a horrible experience all around. I am a member of a few run Disney groups on Facebook and posted my experience there as well so that others are aware and got quite a bit of negative feedback about others experiences at the carousel

Only giving 3 stars because of location. The pictures online don’t give an honest picture of this place.
We are in the club level room, and if this is what we paid extra for, I feel bad for those in the regular rooms.
They made me sign a paper when i checked in, fees for this, fees for that. Parking fee, water bottle fee, resort fee, Yada Yada Yada.
Room in tiny, the only nice thing about the club level room is the close parking. We are parked right below our room. But not elevators, had to lug all of our stuff up the stairs.
Microwave was dirty with food in it, ipod dock broken, one of our $ 3 waters was drank and the empty bottle just sitting on the counter, dirty tub faucet. Not imressed when I’m staying in the nicest room this hotel offers.
Won’t stay here again.
