Great atmosphere if you can snag a table near the water. Order the Monte Cristo and a mojito… that’s all you need. This was our second time to BB, but the last visit was 12 years ago. My wife loves the Monte Cristo at BB and we booked a reservation in advance. We decided not to put up with the hassle of sitting by the water this time, and were seated in the middle of the restaurant. Just for a brief background, BB is in a large room that is shared with the Pirates of the Caribbean ride… the Louisiana swamp part at the very beginning of the ride. It is a dark room with the sound of crickets and fireflies can be seen in the ride part itself. The restaurant menus have lights in them to help you see the menu. This is probably the coolest themed restaurant Disney has between both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. WDW has a restaurant with a window that overlooks the«It’s a Small World» ride, but it’s just not the same as BB. I ordered the Jambalaya, and was warned it was spicy. I told the server I liked spicy, but the spice was still not at a standard Louisiana spice level. The food was good, but just not the same as what I am used to. My daughter and wife both ordered the Monte Cristo, but they found that they could have easily shared a single order between the two of them. The portion sizes are large. My daughter liked the lemonade with the included light. I also enjoyed the mojito, and really liked the fact that I was constantly receiving mojito refills. If only they had alcohol in them… My wife and daughter enjoyed their meals, but sitting in the dark in the middle of the dining area was just a mediocre experience. It was not the same as our first visit. We basically had an ok meal in a dark room. I do not know if we will book BB on our next visit. We found that the Monte Cristo is also served at the Cajun quick service restaurant just outside BB. I also noticed that Brennan’s is at Downtown Disney and Brennan’s does have good Cajun food. I would definitely recommend BB to a first-time visitor and make sure you get a reservation in advance. Make sure you ask about sitting by the water when you check-in.

I’m vegan. When our reservation was made they ensured the chef would make me something special if I needed it. I also personally called Disney dining(since I didn’t book it) and was told the same thing. They had 1 vegan dish on the menu which I didn’t want, so I asked for a salad and said«whatever you can do is fine»… Like, how EASY is that? It’s the easiest vegan thing I can ask for. When starter dishes came, I got a starter salad. I expected a full salad to come with dinner entrees also. However, when everyone’s meal came he brought me nothing! How awkward is that? He thought I was gonna eat a side salad and then sit quietly while everyone ate their meal? Um, no. I had to ask«where is my salad»? And the server said«oh, we only have the side salad for you and that’s what we already brought you». After going back and fourth he ended up bringing me a 2nd side salad. I was bummed though. Disney dining assured the chef would accommodate me, but it didn’t seem that the server even asked. Then, he didn’t communicate that he was not going to bring me any food — or that he wasn’t going to attempt to make me a salad meal at all, as I requested. I expected this restaurant to provide the best service in the park and it turned out to be the worst of my visit. It’s the only place I called ahead about because I expected it to be great. My friend ordered the only vegan dish on the menu — mushroom couscous, and she didn’t love it or finish it. Wasn’t worth the $ 30. PLUS, despite having a reservation, we had to wait 30min to be seated. That being said, the ambience was beautiful, and all the meat eaters in my party loved their dishes.

YAS! I finally got to dine here after so many years. My boyfriend made reservations a month prior. I love the ambiance. We were seated near the railing by the«water» of Pirate of the Caribbean. Our server came by and took our orders. As an appetizer I got the gumbo and my BF got the salad so we can variety. As our main dish I ordered the pan seared salmon and my BF for the lamb chops. SOGOOD. Overall the experience was great and our service was wonderful. Our server even cracked some jokes while we were eating. I love it here.

We got reservations a little over a week before we arrived at the park. Let me tell you, it was amazing. We walked through the lobby and we requested to sit by the water. There were lanterns hanging, a decorated house where the kitchen was located and everything was dark except for the candles which dimly lit the tables. There were also sound effects to make you feel like you were actually in New Orleans. It was gorgeous. Our waiter was super sweet and always there to assist us. She would give us recommendations and help us with anything that we needed. She always had a smile on her face and she noticed that it was our first time there so she made sure to let us know what she thought we should get. Her name was Linda and she was very nice. Now, onto the food. We were given a bread basket as a starter and it had a few different varieties of bread and butter that were really fantastic. I ordered a mint julep and I personally didn’t like it. It was very minty and was definitely an acquired taste and a palette cleanser. It was very visually appealing though. As for the sweet tea, I thought that there would be a nice southern taste to it but there wasn’t even sugar in it. You had to put sweeteners in the cold tea which wasn’t really that amazing. We started the meal off with salad/gumbo. I ordered the gumbo which was so delicious. It was one of the best I had ever tasted. My father ordered the salad which has bleu cheese crumbles, pecans, and a nice vinaigrette, which was equally delicious. Now, for the entrée I had the monte cristo with a blackberry, raspberry, and vanilla dipping sauce. It was not only visually aesthetic but it was also very delicious and the different sauces made it very delectable. My mother ordered the jambalaya, which I tried. It had a bit of a spice to it but all of the elements tasted delicious. For dessert, we decided on a lemon crème brûlée tart with a white chocolate diamond for the 60th anniversary on top. It was delicious. When you cracked it open, there was a delicious lemony filling that mixed nicely with the sweetness. Although there were some minor issues, I give this place a 4 out of 5 stars. I would definitely come back and check this out and it is a must for vacationers and New Orleans lovers alike.

Finally! I’ve experienced the Blue Bayou and I loved it. It does put a dent in your wallet but totally worth it! The ambience, the food, and the service is on point. We had kind of a big party but the severs were great, they kept our drinks replenished and asked if we needed anything frequently. All wait staff and chefs at Disneyland are always so great when discussing allergy free options for my son. Our delicious food was brought in a timely manner. We are the type of family that orders something different so that we can all taste each others food… the gumbo was phenomenal, the house salad was delicious, the beef strip loin was amazing, the jambalaya was good and spicy, and the citrus chicken breast was very tasty. Good stuff!

Lovely. That was THE word to describe everything about this place. I have never been to the Blue Bayou before even though I’m an annual passholder. You actually should place a reservation if you do plan on eating here. You CAN do a walk in but it depends if reservations for that day aren’t full or someone didn’t show up to their reservation. So I don’t recommend trying your luck because you aren’t guaranteed a table for walking in. Now let’s get to this wonderful experience. Reservation at 9:50PM, the very last slot of the day and on my last day there. Score! Right as you walk in, the ambiance is very fancy-like. Luckily our seat was right next to the water where you can see people on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride!(Warning: As lovely as those seats are there, be prepared to have people continuously shouting random things at you while they’re on the PotC ride.) Our server was Annie and boy did she do an amazing job. I’m a server so I get really picky about service. She continuously table touched our table even though it looked like we didn’t need anything. Refills were given as soon as our cups were emptied. Bread was delivered to us right away right after we placed our orders. Throughout the meal, Annie was always on top of things. She really made my first experience amazing. Now onto the food! What I ordered was the Surf & Turf! It was a petite lobster tail and a filet mignon. It also had a couple greens on there as well as their potatoes which were AMAZING. Let’s get to the lobster tail. Usually with lobster I can be picky with how it’s cooked. But the chefs did a great job of cooking this one. It came with melted butter on the side that I could dip into as well! Now my favorite part of the food. Filet Mignon. Flawless. Medium rare. Melts in your mouth. That’s all I have to say about that. Even when I ate it later that night as a midnight snack, it was still amazing. Along with the entrees, they come with either a salad I think it was? Or their gumbo. You can also upgrade to a shrimp cocktail for $ 7! I mean if you’re already spending about $ 30-$ 50 a plate, might as well right? That’s what I did, I upgraded and also asked for a side of gumbo which Annie had no problem doing for me because I love gumbo. Usually appetizers come before the main entrée but our’s came literally right after the entrée. For me it was no big deal. For others it might be. To each their own. The shrimp cocktail though. So worth the $ 7 upgrade. The cup was filled with shrimp! Nice and fresh too! Their gumbo was pretty good as well! It’s different from the one they sell outside. I could’ve used some Tabasco but it’s still good without it! As for the dessert. Wonderful! It had to be one of the top crème brûlées I’ve ever had. The top was perfectly caramelized and the inside was oh so creamy. Overall, I would definitely start making this a part of my Disneyland trips whenever I go. It’s going to be staple in my trip just like how Space Mountain, World of Color, etc. are a staple to my trip. TLDR; If you want a fine dining experience in Disneyland, this is a must. If you’ve never been here, you really need to go. This place is just simply lovely when it comes to food, service, and experience.

This is that fancy restaurant that you can see from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I would recommend getting reservations way in advance if you want to dine here. I celebrated my fiancée’s birthday here with a friend and they sat us at a table right by the water. The entire restaurant is dimly lit by candlelight, which adds to the experience. It feels like you are dining in the New Orleans bayou on a summer nigh. You constantly hear crickets chirping and the river rushing. It was unique to say the least. They hook you up with complimentary bread when you sit down, which was pretty good. We all ordered the Monte Cristo. The ham and cheese sandwich is fried perfectly and has a really nice crunch. The dipping sauces that comes with it are amazing as well. I really liked the berry ones. The Monte Cristo is pretty tasty, but in my opinion, a bit overpriced at $ 27 each. Blue Bayou is a really cool dining experience that I would recommend trying at least once in your life. The ambiance alone is worth the cost, but if you just want the Monte Cristo, you can actually order it at a restaurant right outside for much cheaper.

Delicious! Gumbo is by far the best I’ve had here in LA! My grilled marinated chicken was done to perfection. Everything from the ambiance to the staff was perfect. I think this spot is a must try for anyone who loves Cajun food. It is on the pricer side, but very much worth every penny. Try to get a table by the river… it’s an incredible view/experience !!!

I reserved this spot in about a two weeks notice and they sent me a confirmation email two days prior to the dinner reminding me of the time and giving me a confirmation number. There were many good things about this place. The scenery for one example was magical as you step from the daylight of New Orleans square into the night time of a candle-lit dock. They had great service with one waitress taking our order timely and an additional waitress who gave us our refills on water and mint julep(free refills) and took our plates in an incredibly timely manner. The food was good and they had a good selection of items. Although it was a great experience, there was 1 thing that takes away from it being a 5 star. The food was good, but it wasn’t great. I was expecting a little more than what they gave especially since the prices were nearly 45 per plate. We had the rack of lamb and the slow roasted beef which were the most expensive things on the menu. It was a normal steak and a normal rack of lamb mostly consisting black pepper and salt with a hint of rosemary if I can recall. I wasn’t wowed but it wasn’t bad so i wasn’t too concerned. The gravy greeted both dishes well as it was paired with both a garlic mashed potato on the rack of lamb plate and an au gratin for the beef. I didn’t quite know what the mint julep was but when I tried it, it tasted like a drink with a very strong mint mixed in. Somewhat like a syrup water with a mint kick. Great to me is a 5 star, and I just wasn’t wowed at the Blue Bayou. Although it was a great experience, I probably won’t be going back any time soon.

I love the view inside the restaurant The food is pricey but delicious, it’s worth it. The customer service is wonderful. You need to make reservations in order to get a table. Also this place is special because my fiancé proposed to me here. They made it so special and beautiful. My fiancé email the manager of the restaurant and they had it all plan out! Everything came out perfect and the dessert was amazing!

I love Disneyland and pretty much everything about it. First off if your wanting to eat at this awesome place you need to make reservations in advance. Also don’t cancel on them because you’ll get charged for that. First off the atmosphere is awesome! Pirates of the Carribean right there. It’s dark with dim light but it’s hard not to enjoy. Both my husband and I got cool drinks with glowing ice cubes that change color! It was fun and cool and made the experience more enjoyable. We both ordered the Monte Cristo Sandwhich which did not disappoint. The price is crazy of course but you actually get two sandwiches and little side of exotic fruits. It was fun to try the weird fruits and the Sandwhich was amazing and extremely filling. Our waitress was super nice and good. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy this place again!

Blue Bayou, what an experience! I hope you can all eat here at least once. Such a magnificent place! My friend(AP) and I arrived around 9:40 for our reservation at 9:50PM, and were seated within a few minutes. The CMs at the front were super peppy(I was exhausted) and were nice enough to see if they had a pin or two I was hoping to trade for.(No such luck!) BB is packed pretty much 24⁄7 from what I gather, and this visit was no exception. We were seated at a circle table in the middle of the restaurant(doesn’t hurt ask for a table by the water, see what they can do for you…) and promptly our server greeted us. Unfortunately I didn’t catch her name, but all was well. Our orders were placed, we got the bread, and I just sat there and took it all in. The lights and sounds of Disneyland always get me, and within BB it’s even more magical. My guest had the Portebello Mushroom and she said it was good. I had the Pan-Seared Salmon which was HEAVENLY! The only thing that was odd was the presentation. Check my picture. But that didn’t change my experience, my interactions with their customer service, or anything at all. Next time I’m in the park I do hope to try there again for lunch, and I’ll be sure to call(months) ahead to book it! Thanks BB for the great evening!

This was my first time dining at Blue Bayou despite having an annual pass for a few years. My mom and I made reservations online, but unfortunately they did not go through. We only realized this as we were halfway to Disneyland. I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to it. The first thing we did when we arrived at the park around 1pm was head over to the restaurant and see if they had any cancellations. They were still booked, but luckily were allowing walk ins. We only waited 10 minutes to be seated! They weren’t the best seats in the house, but the ambiance of the place makes it cool regardless. The food was really good! Both my mom and I got the sirloin strip with the salad. The bread was amazing, and I loved the Louisiana lemonade! It ended up being $ 115 for the both of us including tip. We forgot to mention we had our annual passes, which would have given us a 10% discount. If you love Disneyland and want to try something fancy and new, definitely go to the Blue Bayou!

First of all don’t even try to get in without a reservation. However with some planning this can be a great place to relax while spending time in the original Walt Disney park. They offer online reservation service witch is awesome! I love the atmosphere of the Bayou. The antebellum manor house that serves as the backdrop of the dining area is fantastic. Furthermore you are always dining under the stars with romantic Chinese lanterns and fireflies in the background. The food that is prepared is generally very good, if a little pricey. Our party was fairly large and everyone at the table was very satisfied with the meal and we even took some leftovers for later.

I’ve always wanted to eat here! I’m an annual pass holder and I’ve been to disneyland more times than one can count. I always thought you needed reservations weeks in advance to dine at the famous blue bayou. From the first time riding the Pirates of the carribean as a kid, I was super intrigued by this ‘waterside’ restaurant. One day I randomly thought what the heck, I’m going to see if they have open tables and they did! We seated pretty immediately. Our server was very sweet and accommodating. We had someone join our table midway through our meal and she made it so seamless. I had the surf and turf, the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The lobster was delicious. The potatoes had a little spicy kick to them which was surprising. Oh and the bread basket! Carbs, carbs, yummy carbs. The prices are not cheap even for disneyland standards but you are paying for the experience and ambiance. Definitely worth a try at least once!

Ever wonder what that restaurant was on the beginning of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride? If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you gotta pay attention at the very beginning of the ride! You’ll slowly float past an intimate dining area lit up by beautiful lanterns and definitely wonder how the heck you get in there. I’ve been here several times already. It’s my favorite restaurant in all of Disneyland. It’s perfect for lunch/dinner dates with your boyfriend, family, or friends. I highly recommend making a reservation beforehand because this place is pretty popular. And who likes waiting anyways. I’ve tried their jambalaya, salmon, and their steak. All are very good! Jambalaya was full of flavor and a bit spicy if I remember correctly. I’ve tried their light up lemonade which is a mixture of lemonade, sprite, and mango & raspberry! It comes with a souvenir glow cube too. I’ve gotten the free birthday mickey cake(I ask for it sometimes even when it’s not my birthday) for dessert. Super chocolate-y. I highly recommend dining here! Can’t believe I haven’t written a review on this place til now.

Biggest tip for dining at Disneyland is to make reservations! I made one for Blue Bayou and we were seated 5 minutes after checking in. I’m glad I wasn’t one of those people stuck in the long line waiting 20 minutes just to see if a table was available… This was our second visit here and we already knew exactly what we wanted to get so that made everything very smooth sailing. I suggest taking a look at their menu before hand if you’re starving for dinner like my boyfriend and I were. We knew we had to get their Louisiana Lemonade with a souvenir diamond glow ice cube and their Mint Julep, all of which were refillable!!! Between the two of us, we probably had like 7 cups… The service here is outstanding! Our drinks were never left empty and food was brought out promptly. We tried really hard not to fill up on the complimentary bread. We waited patiently for the one thing we’ve been craving since the last time we visited — chicken gumbo! It was everything we remembered it to be. Appetizer portion was perfect. Boyfriend and I both got their Surf and Turf. The lobster tail was cooked perfectly. It was the sweetest lobster I’ve ever eaten! The filet mignon was cooked exactly how we asked, medium rare. It was like cutting through butter! The potatoes were just as mouth watering as I remembered them(although they were a bit salty for my taste). Green beans were seasoned well with these delightful little juicy tomatoes accompanying the side. Because we informed the hostess that we were there for our anniversary, they brought us a complimentary Mickey Mouse shaped chocolate cake. Best dining experience ever!

As a kid I thought the people dinning here were actors eating, or controlled robots like the Haunted Mansion having life like quality eating dinner by the Bayou. As I grown up I became more intrigued by the Blue Bayou and really wanted to experience it. Flash forward to yesternight, I was pretty disappointed. The food is seriously less than satisfactory, my balsamic mushroom must of been soaked for 10 days straight as each simple bite left my mouth with nothing BUT balsamic. The waiter brought me some extra rice to balance it out, it helped a bit but I just felt like i was eating Rice, mushroom and balsamic! Our dessert which is usually my favorite part of every meal came to be the most disappointing part of my experience! It was highly recommended by our waiter but it was basically another bowl of bread and fruit, so underwhelming ! My friend said you pretty much just paid the for the ambiance, but for anyone curious .save the money and plan another trip elsewhere!

Been wanting to dine here forever and finally got a chance to with Disney Legend Tony Baxter. I started with a Louisiana Lemonade without Sprite and it was pretty good. I would have loved to also try the Mint Julep– maybe someday. Upon constant refills of my Louisiana Lemonade, I realized that it really was better with the Sprite. Then, I ordered the Beef Strip Loin with an upgrade to the shrimp cocktail as a side. The cocktail came in quite a good portion. The flavors were great but the cut up shrimp was a bit tough– especially compared with the single fresh shrimp draped over the side of the cup which was buttery and very tender. I also had a spoon of the chicken gumbo and loved it! I would probably recommend the gumbo over the shrimp cocktail(a $ 7 additional charge). The beef strip loin came just as I asked– medium rare. The beef was tender and juicy and the sauce it came with complimented it very well although there are green peppercorns that I am not a fan of personally. The vegetables on the side were fresh and well cooked and the au gratin potatoes were out of this world. I could have had just those potatoes and been satisfied. Atop it all were crispy shoestring onions with also the perfect texture. The meal was a large portion and absolutely worth it. Not to mention the fancy light up menus, the location and ambiance(next to Pirates), and the incredible service! Blue Bayou is pure magic and can’t wait to come back!

I’ve dined at a few Disney restaurants already and I was probably the least impressed with BB. Don’t get me wrong, the ambiance was awesome. But I’m a foodie so it always comes down to the grub. BB is special, no doubt. I’ve seen it dozens of times as we floated by on the Pirates ride. Due to the dark ambiance, the menus are actually tablets that light up so we can actually read it. My initial reaction was the price. Holy cow they are expensive! I ended up ordering the vegetarian dish, the Portobello mushroom and rice. It was okay, nothing special. My friend ordered the surf & turf and was a little disappointed. She said the lobster was kind of rubbery. The kids wanted mac & cheese. I know I’m not the only one, but I hate when my food touch other food. I don’t know why in the world they would served mac & cheese right next to grapes?! The grapes had cheese on them! Gross! At least serve the mac & cheese in a bowl, and then put it on the plate with the grapes. It’s just a pet peeve of mine, I guess. Service was mediocre, our server wasn’t very personable. Maybe he was antsy to get off work. It was just disappointing since it was a pricey meal.
