History

Established in 1973.

Connie and Adrian started this business when their candle and jewelry making became popular enough to open up a shop. When they retired in 2012, Dan and Elizabeth — long-​time employees– bought the place and are currently in the process of making little tweaks here and there.

Hi, I am co-​owner of The Mercantile. I am a people person so it makes me happy to get to know regular customers and help that one-​time customer find just what they are looking for.

There is an art to running a business. My passion is the art of expression and I exercise that through buying clothing and merchandising at The Mercantile. I know women come in all shapes and sizes and that we want to express ourselves with ease and comfort. I am always on the hunt for clothes that make life more fun.

From our employees to our customers to our community, The Mercantile is family to me. I am proud that we are open and honest about where our products come from and that we support our community by carrying as many locally crafted products as possible. Come in and say hi any time.
