We were here to visit our kid at UMass over Parents Weekend and had a very pleasant stay in the upstairs suite with two bedrooms. The rooms are stocked with snacks and there’s some local artwork you can purchase if you like. The upstairs suite doesn’t have any kind of a kitchen, though there’s a mini-fridge and I believe a microwave, so dishes are bussed out as you use them; don’t plan on doing any food prep on your own. The hostess brought breakfast to the room(there’s not a common dining room like most B&Bs) and pointed out the local ingredients including eggs from her chickens and vegetables from the garden. This is a real working mini-farm and it’s fun to stroll the grounds and see what is going on. And it’s VERY close to the northeast corner of the campus; we were able to leave our car and walk to his dorm(Van Meter) in about 20 minutes. Like the website says, the grounds are very rich in animals and there’s an extremely friendly cat who wouldn’t stay out of our room in spite of the management’s desire to keep the premises pet-free. Keep this in mind if you have allergies.

This is the bed and breakfast inn that all others should be compared to! Stone House Farm is a fabulous! I’ve stayed here a few times and have been in the upstairs suite and have also stayed in the main floor suite. Both were amazingly comfortable and well appointed. Candi has thought of everything to make guests feel welcome and at home. The grounds are incredible. I’ve been very inspired in Candi’s gardens and have used some of her ideas in my yard. This visit they were building a chicken coop which just adds to the charm. Isn’t it great to know where your eggs are coming from? The breakfasts are delicious! Entirely home made, delicious, and abundant! Treat yourself and book a trip to Amherst just to stay at Stone House Farm. It is a magical place!

Gorgeous summer garden, super-friendly(but never intrusive) hosts, delicious breakfast(fresh scrambled barnyard eggs with toast, scones, yogurt, fruit and home-made granola), cozy beds, and kitschy décor define the b&b at this small working farm and girls’ summer camp in this awesome college town. If you’re at all a fan of b&b places or want to see how they’re epitomized, don’t miss this place! The small flock of hens, two goats and two cats give this place an extra-homey vibe. Loved it!

This bed and breakfast is lovely and convenient. The grounds are incredible, even in late-fall-no-leaves-left-on-the-trees season. The rooms are comfortable and homey without being kitchy, and our kids loved running around outside and playing on the climbing/swing set structure, in the outdoor play house, on the rope swing and balancing logs, and with the goats, chickens, bunnies, and cats. There are two separate sections to stay in – we were on the two bedroom top floor, and our friend with her little kids were downstairs in the one bedroom spot. This was really nice, since we didn’t have to worry about disturbing any strangers.(I can imagine you might if you stay here with kids.) Candi is very friendly and easy to communicate with, and her breakfasts are fabulous. What a treat to wake up and have breakfast delivered(homemade granola and yogurt, then eggs or pancakes or waffles as well)! Every morning felt like its own vacation. The place is a few minutes’ drive from downtown Amherst and Amherst College and is very close to UMass. We had no trouble getting around. This place strikes the perfect balance between luxury and convenience/affordability, and it has WAY more personality than any hotel.
