LOL Island Stylin

This place is a pretty decent little hole in the wall. Their food is good and the staff is always incredibly friendly. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because their hours are a bit strange. We would go there much more often, but they close very early on weekend nights. I would definitely recommend grabbing a bite to eat here if you arrive early enough though!

After an intense round of Hawaiian themed mini-​golf it was suggested that we look for some Hawaiian food for lunch. I was confident that there wasn’t anything around us worth trying, but decided to double check with the Unilocal app where I was rewarded with directions to LOL Island Stylin.
We made the quick drive over, parked and went in. The menu had all of your Hawaiian favorites, katsu chicken… and those other ones I don’t remember because I always order katsu chicken. It was a decent sized menu, including some burgers as well as weekend specials. I decided to go with… wait for it… KATSU CHICKEN! My girlfriend went with a BBQ chicken. We paid and started the waiting game.
The waiting wasn’t too long, especially for what was fresh cooked food. I spent the time looking over the various Hawaiian things they had for sale… spam, clothing, and more. My girlfriend watched the TV that was set to Fox News. Gentle ukulele music accompanied are wait, and it was over in no time.
I grabbed 3 sauces… Aloha soy sauce, sriacha, and a mystery red sauce that I was hoping was a spicy sriacha alternative. This was my rookie mistake. I proceeded to eat some of my food. It was all quite enjoyable and I was having a great time feasting on my chicken, sticky rice, and mac… but thought to myself, why not spice up this meal?
So spice it up I did, or so I thought I did. It turns out the mystery red sauce is just ketchup. It also turns out that no amount of fork scraping can remove ketchup from rice, mac, and most importantly my breaded katsu chicken. A third fun fact, katsu chicken was never meant to have ketchup on it. Just like that I had ruined my great meal :(
I tried to fix it with some more fork scraping, some sriacha and soy, just anything possible… but it wasn’t meant to be. I’ll come back in the future and stay far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far away from that clear ketchup bottle.
This is definitely one of the few, authentic, great tasting Hawaiian places around. Definitely worth a checkout if you’re in the area and craving island food.

Amazing food with amazing employees! It was my first time here and definitely not my last.

This is a small corner lot restaurant selling Hawaiian and Polynesian food. Their most popular item in the menu is BBQ Chicken. Meat is juicy and tender, you could tell right away it has been marinated and cooked well. It’s delicious but it’s too plain. I wish there was more BBQ sauce coating to make it more flavorful. Something for the extra oomph. It comes with white rice, and side macaroni salad. They are alright.
My main issue is the food presentation. If you order the mini BBQ set, the food is served in a small white polystyrene container. The square one that is just big enough to fit a normal-​sized burger. So with BBQ chicken on top, you don’t have easy access to the rice and the macaroni salad underneath. Plus, it makes you feel as if you are eating on a park bench or on the go, not in an established restaurant. It looks cheap.
This looks like a family operated restaurant, so you get the homey vibe. Everything is self service here, you get your own order and drink from the counters. They do check with you if everything is ok, so that’s good. Comfortable table arrangements, they even have some random grocery items on sale, which I assumed are from Hawaii.
I would recommend this place for quick lunch grab, if you don’t mind eating in polystyrene container.

Phenomenal food and even better owners! Treated like royalty and hot poly/​Hawaiian food on a snowy day was out of the park delicious.

Good authentic as it gets island food, tangy Mac salad good rice, pigs feet was delish. Ribs were a little sweet but highly edible and price per portion is cheaper than most fast food. Gonna have to learn to speak islander after this meal.

Tried this place for the first and went with the BBQ chicken. I wasn’t let down. I was greeted by a super cool guy at the register. He couldn’t help but make me and my family smile. The others that worked here had a great vibe as well. The food tasted great. What made the food taste even better was the price. Food seems to taste better when it doesn’t really dig too much into your pocket. My only complaint is I wish they had had a high chair for my one year daughter. They said they planned on getting one soon. The portions were great and filled me up. If I’m in the area I definitely plan on coming back.

Love how the food is cooked fresh to order. We got there just in time to sit at the last available table. You place your order and pay before sitting down and they call your name when it is ready.
I went with the chicken and short rib combo. Chicken was cooked perfectly and didn’t need any sauces to help it out. The short rib was well seasoned and cooked just right and had nicely sized portions. Also loved the macaroni salad too, can’t wait to come back and try other items and hopefully have more time for dessert. They even sell Hawaiian Host boxed chocolates.

They never disappoint! Love going here for my mixplate Teri chicken and ribs with rice and Mac salad needs. They treat you just like family. The signature dish the loco moco so bomb!!! So what it is… It’s teriyaki marinated all beef Patties with a couple over easy eggs on top drenched in brown gravy all over of rice and Mac salad. I love that sweet and salty so for those of you who feel me this is the ideal dish for you LOL! Portion size OMG well you get more than what you paid for… It takes me all day to finish a full size plate that’s why I’ve downsized to the mini plate or half plate. It’s a bit of a drive but well worth it… Besides my husband is straight outta Savaii, Samoa (as we americans normally refer to them as FOBs) but we always had issues picking somewhere to go eat, but they cater to his needs as well. So for the islander in you they have Samoan foods like Taro, Fa’i (green banana), sausage, oka (raw fish in coconut milk), pōke (hawaiin take on raw fish), palusami (a samoan delicacy, coconut milk wrapped in Taro leaves) pig, lamb, povi masima (corn beef), Fried fish and that’s just to name few… But the poly Manu depends on the days its served, so you may to call to double check if they have your favorite. Planning on going there sometime this week to get our fixes LOL

I’ve been here twice… both times it was delicious! Good portion sizes and their cake is fabulous!

It’s nice to be greeted with a smile and made feel welcome. The poly menu is great. I had the beef short ribs and chop suey, very tasty. The owner is very nice and gave me kalua pork and panekeke to try. I am sold, next time I bring the family!

This place is packed by non-​Polynesians for their island grill (Hawaiian BBQ) and packed by Polynesians and myself for the authentic Polynesian dishes namely their poke (a hawaiian raw fish dish), fa’alifu talo or fa’i (taro or green bananas marinated in coconut milk, onions, and salt), lu sipi, lu pulu, palusami (lamb, corned beef, or coconut milk steamed in a luau or taro leaf), sapasui (aka chopsuey, a combination of long rice noodles with some veggies and meat), soisisi niu sila (New Zealand sausage), povi masima (salted beef), among other Polynesian delicacies.
Lopi and Lana (the L’s of the LoL and owners) are seriously the nicest people EVER. Seriously. Any shortcomings (usually delay in food because they’re always packed) behind the counter and grill is compensated for by the generosity and general awesomeness of Lopi and Lana. They make EVERYONE feel welcome.
LOL tends to be more expensive than the typical Hawaiian BBQ grill (especially if you’re ordering from the Poly plate), but I get huge Polynesian-​sized servings, and often have enough to cover me for the next meal.
Any place packed with haole’s (Hawaiian term for non-​Hawaiians and sometimes non-​Polynesian) and Polynesians alike, you know you can’t go wrong.

I was a little haole boy in hawaii many years ago, so i have a lot of vague but fond memories.
I’ve also been burned by some of the chain poly-​theme restaurants who will remain nameless.
My first instinct was to go for the basics on the first trip so i got the teri chicken.
It was exactly on point. Cooked just right, sauce just right.
Kinda wished I’d noticed the poly menu on the whiteboard. Curious about the lamb and some other items on it.
Gonna have to come back some day when they have mahi mahi.

The Hawaiian food was great at this little place. We took the whole fam here, so we sampled a few things. They have a pretty good sized menu with lots of options. They even have a Poly menu with some weird to me type foods. I wasn’t courageous enough on this first trip to try anything off of that. lol. We did get the short ribs and also the teriyaki chicken. The short ribs were delicious! Great flavor and a great cook on them. The teriyaki chicken was delicious as well. They had really good sticky rice that came with the meal and also some yummy mac salad. Overall this place was great. I would say this is the best Hawaiian place I have had while here in Utah. I will definetely be back!

Quick, clean, friendly, inexpensive, yummy. Best spot to get your beef spareribs fix. We went in on a Monday and shared the Mini portions which are plenty, but we intend to come back on the weekend for the specials that only appear Friday-​Saturday.
I am a macaroni salad junkie and theirs is just awesome.
Be aware of limited hours of operations. They have a web site but it is completely useless.

The best Hawaiian restaurant in Utah. Good food, good service. We have ordered a mini BBQ chicken and the ribs both are super good. We also ordered the poke. Little bit spicy but it tastes perfect. They gave us a free guava cake and lu si Li to try. Besides also gave us free rice to eat with poke. All food are amazing. We will definitely come back.

Today was my first time at Lol’s. And I can tell you it most definitely won’t be my last. It is the cutest little mom and pop shop. Very nice order takers and cooks and the cutest little poly girls who refilled our drinks for us. The little sweet waitresses added a nice touch to this family owned establishment. The food was very delicious. I posted a few pics of my Teri lol burger along with what my family ordered. If you like burgers I would recommend this finely crafted sandwich. It was Very delicious so juicy and so satisfying. It had a fried egg on it which added great flavor. I walked away very content with what I ordered. My only complaint is there was a little too much salt on my fries. But the fries were so good I still brought some home. Next time I will just be sure to say no salt. Overall great experience. Keep up the good work Lol and family!

What a nice little family run Hawaiian style bbq in American fork! It’s a little off the beaten path but the food and service was excellent and authentic. Great little find I need to remember!
