Great good, try their curry chicken and vegetable fried rice. Place look pretty good, but the food is outstanding.

This is the best Chinese food in the Wekiva, Altamonte area. Their food is always fresh never greasy and always consistently delicious. I order for delivery and I eat in at least once a month love this place.

Great food and service. I decided to order in the other night during a Florida storm and was pleasantly surprised with the ease of ordering and their fast delivery. The food was fresh and very tasty. Highly recommended if you are in the Altamonte area.

Took my niece here for dinner one Sunday evening. The place was dead, just thought oh good, quiet… well not so much as one of the woman working there had her 3 or 4 year old boy out in the dining room who enjoyed hollering and yelling throughout our meal. Our server was beyond unhappy to be there, bordering on downright rude. My egg drop soup was nastiest Ive ever tried, although I only took a spoonful the server did not bother ask if anything was wrong. Our entrees came out on the tail of our appetizers so we are scrambling to make room on the table while still chewing our wontons(overfried) and now the food… passable. Not the worst Ive had but very very far from the best. I was mortified that I had chosen this place to take my teenage niece to and had it not been for her with me I was desperately wanting to talk to manager/owner, but chose not to embarass my niece.

They are extremely clean and courteous! Pick-up is a breeze, and the food is good. The General Tso chicken is delicious, as are the crab rangoons, spring rolls, and fried rice. I wouldn’t order the chicken lo mein, though — it’s pretty tasteless. Aside from that, I have no complaints and will continue to have China Gate as my go-to :)

My husband and I ate here one time a few months back. We were pretty disappointed and do not plan to come back to this restaurant. The wait service was inconsistent with coming by our table to refill drinks, they didn’t come in a timely manner to get our order or even clean up. There was only 2 groups of customers, and we were one of them. They have condiments containers on the table that were sticky as if they have been sitting out for a long while and looked like they were just added to when low. One of them on the table had a dead bug in it. The waitress did not say anything and just passed another one to me from another table. The food was OK. The food seemed like they were re-cooked as the veggies seemed limp and the meats were dry throughout. I think there were more sauces than their was meat in the dishes. With this experience, I think I will just keep on going to other chinese restaurants around the area.

I think there are new owners. Food was pretty good. Service sucker. Décor is worn and depressing.

Food was pretty good. Some dishes were better than others. I think it is your typical Chinese food restaurant. We ate in and the service was not good. Seems like they may be more of a taken out restaurant. Not to mention the décor is a mix of the worst.

Been going to a different Chinese place for takeout for a while but this place is closer so my boyfriend and I decided to finally try it. Everything was so much fresher and more flavorful than your typical Chinese place. He even loved the crab rangoon and he hates cream cheese! We also got the sweet and sour chicken, the sauce tasted more homemade, egg rolls, and Mei Fun chicken and it was delicious and had a great curry flavor. Prices are a tad higher but the quality is good! Definitely getting again!

This place should really be 4 stars. I’ve been here twice. Both times I ordered the same thing. The Bo Bo Platter. Its always been really good. The service both times has been really great. Friendly and fast. But I donno. Just not feelin the 4 stars. Maybe its the slightly dingy interior thats killin it for me. But like I said. Great food(at least the Bo Bo Platter, and thats a little of everything) and great service. So I am a fan. But… it is what it is. Oh ya the egg drop soup seems a little on the bland side. So that didnt help. And on a final note. Dont call it the Pu Pu Platter lol. My wife had no Idea what a Pu Pu platter was. This is actually how we found this place. this was before I even had Unilocal.I mentioned I was in the mood for a Pu Pu Platter, I havent had one in many years. and my wife was laughing out loud thinking I was screwing with her. Im like no they serve it at chinese places, it has a cool mini grill with a flame in the middle. What ever its callled. Shes like a Pu Pu Platter? Right, Sure. I guess she assumed it was a Poo Poo Platter? I cant imagine what she thought It was. A rotating platter with little turds you grill in the flame. So I googled it and shes like oh wow that looks amazing. So i googled some chinese places and called around. No one seemed to have one except this one. When I ordered it the waitress laughed out loud. I was like what the hell. Apparently here its called a Bo Bo Platter

I had high hopes for this place because it’s so close to my apartment, and was unfortunately disappointed. I ordered online, through their website, and was confused when I submitted my order and didn’t receive a confirmation or estimated delivery time for my food. Half an hour later, I called to double-check that they’d received my order and was told it would be an additional 15 minutes. The price was okay and the delivery guy was nice, but the food itself was… lacking. It wasn’t BAD but it also wasn’t very good, and I wasn’t impressed by the blandness of it. It was just average Chinese food, and I probably won’t be using them again anytime soon. It’s not that they did anything wrong, it’s just that… everything was so blah.

Quick delivery of your normal Chinese takeout restaurant. Portions are ok and prices better than others in the area. Good service if you decide to dine in. This place has been here for a very long time and many people I know go here.

We have been going here for years, and the food and service were excellent. Unfortunately, about three weeks ago, we noticed that the regular employees were not there. We figured that they may have been on vacation, and ordered our food. It was awful. The rice was still hard and the general cho’s chicken was rubbery. We ended up throwing most of it away. We figured it was a case of new help still learning, so tonight we tried again. Being wiser, we only ordered chicken fried rice and potato dumplings. The fried rice was bland, and the chicken showed no sign of ever seeing the griddle. It was pale and squishy. I think they took pre made chicken, threw it in the microwave, and tossed it into the rice, along with all the other ingredients. Then instead of frying it, they put it in take out containers. Normally you can see some sign of cooking, there was nothing. We asked where the other people were, the girl sort of sheepishly stated that they no longer worked there. Sadly, we will not be returning to what was once our favorite Chinese restaurant.

First time eating at China Gate and I had the sesame chicken with fried rice and soup(lunch special) for $ 7.00 plus tip, cheap food made quick and fresh. The place has take out or dine in and looks more formal inside with nice tables and a nice atmosphere. The service is not bad at all and for what you get, the food was not the best but it was not bad at all. The rice was okay and the egg roll witch also came with the lunch special was good. Will come back to try different item soon.

China Gate has been making great food for the years and years I have gone there… I love Chinese and rank China Gate in my all-time favorites. I have been going there for at least 13 years or so… eating inside is always great; the crispy noodles and hot tea are delicious. Take out portions are just as generous as dine-in. Delivery is fast and food is always fresh. Nowadays it is getting difficult to find a genuine Chinese restaurant experience rather than take-out only type restaurants, and among the good ones China Gate is a cheaper alternative to Imperial Dynasty and Eastern Pearl. And the staff who have been there all these years are so friendly! Go to China Gate and you will not be disappointed

I used to order from these guys all the time. Then I discovered Imperial Dynasty and this place sorta fell by the wayside. However, it is close to my gym(LA Fitness) so I decided to give ‘em another shot. I ordered the lunch special of Shrimp Lo Mein with pork fried tice, hot and sour soup and egg roll. Lunch price was $ 5.95, not bad. It was so hot in there. I was actually sweating at the table. The soup was fine and the fried rice was good. The egg roll tasted funny and the lo main was average at best. Bottom line? When in Longwood and wanting Chinese, go to Imperial Dynasty.

China Gate gets 3 stars but BARELY. I’m adding the extra star because our server was super nice and very sweet. The food is just above your average take-out place, which isn’t saying a lot. The inside of the restaurant looks OLD and grimy. There was dust on the fake plants and the walls are painted this very unappetizing color of purple. The whole place just looks shabby. On a trip to the bathroom I notice the back door propped open right next to the kitchen. The food wasn’t anything special and at $ 9.50 was over-priced for what you get.

Love to indulge in some lo mein, chicken chow mein, moo goo gai pan or mongolian beef? Then you need to do yourself a favor and visit China Gate in Altamonte. Located in the same plaza as the new L.A. Fitness, this Chinese restaurant has been a staple in Altamonte ever since I can remember. As a girl, it was always my go-to place when mom was treating me to lunch. And while I don’t indulge myself with Chinese food as much these days, it’s still at the top of the list when I do. Everything I’ve ever tried on their menu is superb. There’s usually plenty of sitting room since the majority of their business seems to be take-out. Great food. If you’re craving Chinese, this is the place to go. They even offer daily lunch prices from 11am-3pm.
