At Matt Burk Music Studio, we go out of our way to listen, encourage and include all our students as we help them achieve their unique musical goals.

We specialize in private lessons for piano, drums, bass, guitar, voice and songwriting. We teach practically all styles: classical, jazz, pop, rock, classic rock, p&w, etc.

We strive for every student to experience the joy and passion that comes with expressing themselves in music, learning their craft proficiently and becoming a success in their own right. It is our desire that students grow in creativity and musicianship as their desires are truly honored and called out.

In addition to receiving excellent private instruction, our students receive a number fun, unique performance opportunities, including traditional recitals at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, less-​traditional showcases at House of Blues Dallas, live gigs at local coffee shops, and student jam sessions, where students perform together as a part of a band!

History

Established in 2006.

When Matt Burk began teaching private lessons and seeing his students growing, encouraged and enthusiastic about music, he knew that he wanted to bring this excitement about music and this positive, fun experience to more students. He wanted to open a studio that offered lessons for other popular instruments as well, with the same fun, encouraging environment that he had created for his piano students.

This led Matt and Jessica to rent a commercial space in Allen in 2007 and to begin Matt Burk Music Studio. They grew so quickly that they moved into a space twice the size of the original within just one year.

Now with 8 instructors and approximately 300 students in the (original) Allen studio for private lessons every week, the Studio continues to grow. Matt and Jessica recently opened a location in Frisco and they look forward to reaching even more students with the positive, creative and inspiring approach their Studio takes toward lessons.

Business Owner

Matt and Jessica Burk’s passion for music began at young ages; they have both studied it since childhood. They had very different musical experiences and backgrounds as children and young adults, and they have identified significant benefits in their different experiences. Both Matt and Jessica always knew music would be a big part of their lives — whether for personal enjoyment, teaching/​encouraging others, etc.

In 2006, their passion for music and Matt’s entrepreneurial spirit prompted them to start what was previously Matt Burk Piano Studio. Matt’s schedule quickly filled up, and as he saw students growing, encouraged and enthusiastic about music, he knew that he wanted to bring this excitement about music and this positive, fun experience to more students, and to expand the instruments offered.

This led them to establish Matt Burk Music Studio — initially in Allen and more recently in Frisco. They are grateful to have the honor and privilege of bringing music to so many students.
