Specialties

We specialize in carpet binding or serging, add or remove fringe, reduce

size of existing rugs, or modify carpet or rugs into circles, ovals, hexagons, octagons or rectangles to your liking. Your extra wall-​to-​wall carpet can be finished into doormats, even with custom logo designs built in or borders seamed on. We can add soft felt or non-​slip rubber to the backings if needed.

Commercially, we cut and bind carpet cove base for hotels, churches and other commercial buildings. We recently solved a circus’ problem with badly worn edges on their «big-​top» carpet by sewing a wide-​binding all the way around, which will far outlast the carpet, but at a reasonable price.

History

Established in 1982.

We are family owned busines; which began in Plano and expanded from there. We are called Dependable for a very good reason. Dependability was always our first goal: in starting any job on time, putting quality into our workmanship even it it takes longer, not over-​charging, and making sure the customer was happy with our job before finishing.

In this carpet binding business I remember that all other binders had to cut the tape and glue it at every corner. We chose to innovate by doing what all others considered impossible, to turn those corners, overlap the start point, and finish with a «whippy-​stitch» before cutting the tape. When all others were switching to faster straight-​stitch machines that were chain-​stitch instead of lock-​stitch (meaning any cut in the thread could result in a «potato sack» run on the thread) we chose quality over speed. We will always choose dependable quality.

Dependable Carpet Services has been serving Collin County and beyond since 1982. We are a family owned business known for our «dependable» and quality work. Our workroom will turn your carpet into area rugs. We offer free pick-​up from any carpet store. Binding of all types, serging, fringing (including fringe removal), cove base and rug bordering is some of our many services.
