Every waiter and waitress here are so rude, they prioritize their tips rather than giving the actual service. They welcome us with a rude attitude and lack a welcoming aura in the restaurant. And if you have to call out to them if you want to be seated, they don’t come to you and actually welcoming you. I am disappointed because the service only continues to worsen every time I come here.

Not even worth 1 star. When we came in yesterday on Monday 2−15−16 at 6:05pm, the workers did not seat us immediately but was worried about counting the tips. We had to ask to be seated, and wasn’t even greeted. The mid age lady with a ponytail was very rude, and my mom ordered the kids meal for my little sister and she told her that’s the kids meal for kids as we didn’t know already, she talked in a rude matter. It was for my little sister too. When my mom ordered Noodle Soup to know if the noodle is included, the waitress responded with an nasty mean attitude. We told her we are going to take our business else where. Then when we called to talk to the manager it was her who picked up but did not even greet«U2 café.» She made the phone seem like a fax machine. I had to say hello a couple times until she responded and asked for the manager. She made an excuse that the manager is on vacation because she knew we would complain about her. This place is just ok, Wanton is below average, BBQ is slightly better. Price is high, in this area since the competition should drive the price down! $ 6.95 for wanton noodle soup with a free drink is not cheap. The quality is average average. Good thing is that they open til 2 pm. Ideal of late night snack after few hours of partying! Other than this, nothing to bring home.

So, we came here for lunch. They are, always, crowded and they(always) put my family in a corner in a room where we get forgotten!!! It would take me 3 tries or more just to get a refill for drinks!!! The congee(Centurion Egg with beef) was meh, as it was tasteless. I had to keep adding salt to it! My husband ordered Chicken Hotpot and he said that the dish was only so-so. The best dish was my daughter’s Club Sandwich, as it was full of ingredients and the fries were stellar!

I love the fact that I can come here late and get all of my comfort food. My favorite is the Singapore Chow Fun.

I would give this place zero stars if i can. Theres nothing more of a pet peeve of mines than a waitress that ignores you and pushes you aside. I narrowed down my order to sphagetti and asked her what her reccomendation is and she tells me to tell her when im ready brushing me aside and moving to the next customer. Waited, 25 –30 minutes for my food, i told her everyones food is here except for mines. And she looks at me like im stupid and just disregards me in front of other people she is waiting. A friend at my table asked for a box and a plaatic bag, the waitress looked at her and just totally ignored her and she just proceeding typing in her orders. If customer service was a prioirty in this place, she wouldve been fired a long fucking time ago. On the positive, the manager, one of the shareholders came right up with my portuguese baked porkchops. He was nice and amicable… got my coffee and friends tea right away. The manager and the other servers i would say, earned this place one star. The negligents servers name is a women, i wont drop her name, although i found out who it was. If this happens again, i might have drop it. Oh, and their coffee sucks.

Chicken Steak all the way. It’s an enormous portion, but I manage to finish it every time. *blush* I believe you can also get an iced tea for $ 1 – 2 once you order an entrée. The service is whatever as it always is in Chinese cafes. Short review. Get the chicken steak. Sauce doesn’t matter. They’re all good.

Lunch on Monday, 9÷7÷15 Labor day observed so we decided to visit an Asian place for lunch. There was a short wait in line and the parking lot was getting full. The hostess wasn’t too friendly either. We had a party of 3 and she wanted to seat us at a small table fit for 2. We had to wait a bit longer for booth seating. Service is terrible here. They expect you to know what you want to order almost immediately after being seated. After placing our order, it’s difficult to get service. Even when I tried flagging a server down, he made eye contact and then he just ignored me. Rude. Food was below average. I ordered the ribeye steak with black pepper sauce served with pasta. It’s better at Baccali Café. The oxtail in wine sauce was not flavorful at all and the meat needed to be cooked more since it wasn’t tender. The only dish that was good was the baked rice dish with spinach and fish. I wouldn’t want to return because the food wasn’t tasty and the service made it worse. Although if I do return, I might want to try their breakfast items.

Still a great place. They have some good deals for dinner. I had the pork chop dinner with spaghetti — it came with two large pieces of pork chops, soup, spaghetti, vegetables. It was pretty good and was only about $ 7 at dinner.

Man. This place keep having me come back for more. The food is the cheapest out of all the Hong Kong cafes in the area. Good comfort food. Kinda gloomy and dark, color inside not the bright. Doesn’t shine. Good services. Staffs are friendly. The milk tea and lemon ice tea ain’t that really good.(I prefer JJ Café for those drinks. It’s just up the street about 5 minute drive.)

I have been a continuous customer ever since U2 opened. If I checked in through Unilocal every single time I’ve been here… it would be every Saturdays for the past 10 or so years.(do the math). Their baked foods are top notch. Beautifully presented and taste is always spectacular. Some of my favorite dishes include: 1. fried chicken leg 2. fried chicken cutlet 3. black pepper chicken steak 4. their won ton noodles with clear broth is AMAZINGGGGG 5. Baked salmon 6. Baked curry beef 7. Anything baked … 8. Grilled lamb steak. Appetizers 1. Garlic bread 2. Thai style chicken wings 3. Any of their chicken wings are pretty damn delicious Dessert 1. Hk style waffle 2. Soufflé Their BBQ side always have fresh roasted pork on display. Skin is always crispy. Love love love! I occasionally wander to the BBQ side to order family style dishes. Their dishes in this side has never failed me because it sticks to their traditional HK style food. Thanks u2.

Oh my god their HK egg waffles are addicting! They’re so crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. I love ‘em more on the crispy side, and you really can’t beat the portion and price during their afternoon tea hour(s)! Real talk, I just don’t get the hype about the«pineapple bun filled with butter» aka bo lo yau(菠蘿油). I mean, I do love bo lo bao(菠蘿包), almost as much as I love Japanese melon pan, but this butter filled one is a bit too heavy for me. Cheers to anyone who can eat the whole portion! We ordered some other miscellaneous things, but all I can think about is the egg waffles. Service was quick, but then again most of the tables were empty during the long weekend. Best believe I took advantage of their free refills on their lemon iced tea, all for only $ 1.25!

I’ve been going to U2 for years and have never gotten a chance to write a review. Finally yesterday after getting some bad service at another local café I’ve decided to open a Unilocal account to write review on all places I visit from now on. U2 has been my favorite restaurant for the past 10 years. The service is great, the food is great, what else can you ask for? The friendly staff always lets me and my friends watch our sports there and is alway friendly about it when we ask them to help us change to the channel we want. The best and most important thing is the food. The fresh squeeze orange juice is actually really fresh squeeze. I see the bartender actually really squeezing the orange behind the counter vs other places where they give you minute maid. My favorite dish at U2 is the BBQ squid. My god… the flavors… make sure when you are in the area stop by to try it. I’m sure you won’t regret it.

I luv luv luv luv this place. And it is not because one of the people I knew recommend me to go to this place because his uncle owned it. Well, maybe that. But this place is better than KT café even though both are good. I loved that their services are really friendly and quick AND attentive. The pricing is good, like KT, it is very cheap! I had grilled Chicken Steak with Black Pepper Sauce and it came fast. The waitiress was constantly asking if I need more Cold Iced Lemon Tea. Friendly service and nice décor. Again, luv luv luv.

*Review is based on U2 Café and not on U2BBQ* U2 Café &BBQ was used to be one of the few restaurants I always go back to from my high school days. Those were good time — no smartphones( Unilocal wasn’t popular back in those days), limited texting plans, and no food pictures due to crappy camera on flip phones. Anyhow … this was actually my 1st revisit in the last 2 ~ 3 years. U2 is separated into two parts — Chinese side(U2BBQ — similar to Sam Woo Barbeque) and Hong Kong café side(U2 Café — similar to Baccali and JJ Hong Kong Café). Once you’ve stepped in, you’ll need to decide where you would like to sit(Chinese side or Hong Kong side). Parking: There’s a free private parking lot. Pros: * OMG … HDTVs are everywhere. A perfect place to watch NBA games. * Open at late hours(up until 2AM). Cons: * Confusing menu … JUST. TOO. MANY. SELECTIONS! * zzzzzzz yeah slow service. *** Celery, Apple, Bitter Melon, Pepper, & Cucumber Juice($ 3.95): Healthy(absolutely no sugar in this drink), but pretty disgusting drink. Celery = rough texture, bitter melon = slightly bitter, cucumber = sour, apple = completely overshadowed by other four ingredients.1-star on the taste.(2.5÷5) Eels on Curry Rice($ 9.95) — It was basically 15% eel, 5% ginger, and 80% curry rice. Not too impressed with curry rice and eel didn’t taste fresh. Overall, it wasn’t a great value at all.(1.5÷5) *** My recommendation — I usually have better dining experience at Chinese side(U2BBQ) and I would only come back to Hong Kong side(U2 Café) for convenience reason(e.g. watching sports game while eating Hong Kong style food).

I like ordering small dishes here so that way I can have a little bit of everything else. We came here late night as we were peckish and ordered the Hong Kong style waffles(delicious!), deep fried wings and squid with chili salt and deep fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were whatever, they need to season the mushrooms or flour mix before frying as it was bland. The wings and squid were standard. This time the wings weren’t overcooked. The standout was the waffle. They were light, eggy and lightly sweet. Went well with my hot tea and lemon. My only gripe was that the waiter didn’t change my lemon after I asked for more tea. Stingy…

I had dinner with my husband on a Monday night 5:30pm. Empty with several people and great service. We sat in a booth with Chinese soap opera on tv’s on wall. The waitress gave us free soup of cream corn with ice lemon tea(1.25) and beer. We ordered beef chow fun, duck, sweet sour pork, and chicken wings. We were fill after clearing our plates. Great service and they speak English. Sometimes parking is tight depending the time.

I’ve driven pass this place on several occasions since it’s right on Valley. More so, it’s right across the street from Wendy’s so you can’t miss it. I think this place has it perks with mediocre food at great price points. I’ve seen this place crowded at times but empty at times. It’s definitely one of those Hong Kong cafes so you can’t expect too much value. Hainan chicken– it was 3 stars not much to expect, just your standard dish so I would just go to Savoy at the same price point. It also weird how the side rice had a hint of coconut flavoring. Fish and vegetables– this is 1 star for sure. It’s bland and Sriracha was a must. I literally had a bite of rice and left the rest unfinished since the texture was like mush but it wasn’t from the sauce. I really wanted to try the pineapple bun with butter it looked pretty good. Would I come here again? Probably not unless I was craving that pineapple bun or I would give the bbq menu a shot.

I don’t remember ever really liking U2 Café, but John T. might have to jog my memory. Thinking back on all the cafes I’ve gone to throughout the years, this was my least memorable… even KT Café, which I really don’t like, has left a [negative] mark in my mind. =FOOD= Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice — SKIPIT — I hate to say that I didn’t really taste much in this dish, but… I didn’t taste much in this dish. it was pretty bland. There were pineapples, but the pineapples were not too sweet(unless John T. ate all the sweet ones –____-) nor were any pineapple flavors even prevalent at all. *tears* There were shrimp in it of course, but that with the mediocre fried rice did not do it for me. The soup that comes with the fried rice looked watery, but I can’t comment on the taste. Although I know policy is one soup per order, I was kind of disappointed because other restaurants don’t even care about that kind of stuff and bring out 2 bowls because there are 2 diners. I think they might actually excel in their bbq since there is the U2BBQ connected to it. =SERVICE= The service was alright here. What I appreciated about this place was that the waiters/waitresses did not impatiently rush us to order. However, after our food was received, I realized no one came back to check on us until we asked for the bill. =FINALVERDICT= I have a feeling that I’m somehow going to find my way back to this place. For a café, I’m not impressed. Although it’s slightly better than KT Café, I have to rate it the same since I only had one dish I’d be interested in trying some of their BBQ one day.
