MPO Eyecare is owned and operated by Dr. Scott Lam of Monterey Park, California. As a Southern California native, Dr. Lam graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UC San Diego which is known to have one of the best biology programs in the United States. Soon after, he crossed the country with a commitment to be a professional eye doctor and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY in New York, New York.

Dr. Lam’s goal and passion has always been to provide friendly and personal eye care services to all. He is known for his thorough and educational eye examinations. Dr. Lam is also qualified to diagnose and treat eye diseases such as common infections and glaucoma, an eye disorder that may lead to blindness if untreated. As an optometrist, Dr. Scott Lam has increased the quality of life for his patients in the Southern California area since 2004 and continues to do so till this day at MPO Cares.

I heard about mpo from my sister who bought the groupon for an exam. I purchased the group on also and went for my first ever eye exam. I had a great experience. Dr. Lam was very nice and was great, explaining everything to me since it was my first exam. They have a good selection of glasses. I need to go back and pick some out!

Dr. Lam and his staff were great. They made sure I understood that was happening during my exam and why each step was important. Dr. Lam answered all of my questions and never tried to rush me like doctors often do. He is very personable and a really nice guy, the front office staff are super helpful, and I will definitely come here again!

Very informative and professional doctor. This is my 2nd year coming here for my eye exam. First was for glasses and today was for contacts. He gave me samples of colors to try and was very updated on the new colors. I was able to get a next day appointment, parking is easy.

The service was great and quick. If my prescriptions weren’t as strong, I would’ve been able to pick up my glasses the same day I got an exam!

I was looking for an eye doctor and happened to see they had a Groupon for eye exams at such a good rate than anywhere else, so I gave them a try. It was a pleasant experience, the doctor explained everything to me as far as the anatomy of an eye, which was very awesome. When it came down to trying on frames, I think I tried on all the frames, the girl helping me was very nice, patient and honest, which I like. I am very happy with the service and my selection of frames.

Fast and friendly staff! Got my glasses a week after i did the examination and they fit perfectly and my vision has never been better :) Not much of a wait unless it’s busy, but that should be expected for any business. But that ust goes to show you people love this optometry. Definitely check this place out.

Dr. Scott Lam provide information regarding your needs. Recommends the best solution for your eyes. The tools they use are very technological. He provide easy to understand information regarding how the eyes works. I came here twice for my contact and glasses.
Staff here is very great. Picks up the phone to answer questions. Technician provide recommendations and concerns for your well being. Takes the time to order contacts or help pick out glasses frames. Lady who help me 09/​23/​2015 at 6:30pm is very helpful and cute. Forgot her name because she was busy helping me put on my glasses. Helps out on measurement on my glasses to make me look good. Provide information regarding my order and solution to up keep my glasses. Staff contacts me regarding my contact or glasses orders. Any issue I have they are their to help me with. I am not writing this review because I get free glass clean solution.
Location has great parking spaces and local restaurants if you skip lunch. Store hours are great for people who work normal office hours. They are available in weekends also.

We love MPO for our family eye care needs! We started coming here 3 years ago when my daughter was 4 and my son was 10. Dr. Scott was so informative and easy-​going. The kids felt comfortable and enjoy coming ever since. I also get my check-​ups and eye glasses here.
The staff is welcoming, have great communication skills, and are very helpful– especially when dealing with insurance, appointments, and more.
Looking forward to continuing coming here for years to come!

It’s like finding a dentist you happily go visit. I happily visit Dr. Scott Lam for my eye care needs. He seems to understand how scary it is sitting in the patient chair and explains the process and logic behind it and helps me feel more comfortable sitting there helpless.
Would be great if they could be part of my HMO group so I don’t have to pay cash, but we all know health care is a big enigmatic mess so it might be a while before that happens.

Great deal with Groupon/​Living Social considering an eye exam alone is $ 50 even at Costco. Plus they threw in a free lens cleaning solution for reviewing them (didn’t have to be a good review either, but I think they deserved it)

I can’t believe it took me this long to find this place! I’m so bummed that I missed out on the $ 35 glasses exam and paid $ 55 elsewhere :(
I came in here to look for some affordable non brand glasses to purchase with my prescription from another optometry and was greeted by a super friendly associate by the name of Kristina. She helped me literally try on about 15 different glasses before deciding on the perfect pair! She explained throughly different options as well as offered me a Pasadena City College discount with proof of my school ID (they have a partnership with surrounding schools)
Anyway, when I returned to pick up my glasses from an also friendly associate by the name of Alex, the process went fast, easy, and smooth!
I will definitely come back next year to get a glasses exam + contacts exam because of their affordable price!!! I’m seriously bummed that I missed out on their great price on an exam before, but now that I know I’ll be back! They also accept my insurance as well as a few others.
The store itself is small, but very clean and has a great color scheme. All of them wear different shades of turquoise/​aqua blue which is so cute.
No review yet on the doctor itself– since I have yet to meet him, but I’m sure he’s just as nice as the rest of his staff!

I found MPO eyecare 1 year ago (2014) on Groupon. I didn’t have insurance so this groupon was a great deal. I ended up buying prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses for a good price. The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions (I had a lot).
A year later I wanted contacts so I came in for an exam and ended up getting contacts and glasses for an additional $ 90 because of their special. Staff is just as great this year as it was last year
