I thought this place was GREAT! Came to visit my parents and we went out to dinner here and had amazing service and the food was really good. It seems that it’s up and coming, I love the location it’s easy to find my only negative I have to say about the location is the parking. I think everyone should give this place a try. I’m sure we all have our go to spots, I think I’ll make this one mine.

Waiter doesn’t know the menu when questions are asked. When I asked him no salsa or pico de gallo in my quesadilla, they still gave it to me. Then when they sent it back it took an extra 10 minutes then the guy said sorry. I opened the quesadilla and it had bell peppers and onions as if they picked it out for me. Disgusting. Never coming back here stay away from this place.

Delicious, authentic, spicy, good favor and heat… we tried the macajete for two… omg! Yummy, it was like Thanksgiving, everything was there: chorizo, chicken, beef, cheese, nopales, avocados and the sauce was so amazing. The beans were great and I am very picky, order this so if I am saying it, just try it!

The 3 stars is for the buffet only. I heard about this place cause i pass by it going to school, not too far from the place. I remember that i drove by the restaurant one day, remembering the sign saying lunch buffet for 7.99 Staff was friendly, always checking up on us and refilling our drinks. The complimentary chips and salsa was great the only problem we had was the buffet food selection at the restaurant. You get a small selection of food for the buffet for 7.99 when compared to shakeys you get a little more for the bunch a lunch for only a dollar more. I suggest not going here for the buffet but for the food that they serve besides the buffet. Yes they have a separate lunch/dinner menu depending on the time you come. Overall though the food was great, staff was great but was really disappointed on the small food selection for the buffet

Mango Margarita and shrimp enchiladas was an amazing combination. Delicious food and the table side guacamole was better than el cholo’s.

I always come to the CVS across the street and always wanted to stop by and tried them out. Today, I finally did. I ordered number #6 Chile rellenos, tamale and taco plate. It was delicious! I loved the place and the people. I’m definitely coming back.

First impression of Chonitos after walking in for dinner. The salsa, bean dip, and fresh warm chips are a perfect start with matching service! I need to add, I think this is one of the best mexican restaurants I have been to. Ever! In the US, and my limited travels to Mexico. There are unique items on the menu, and the food portions are very generous!

The food is amazingly good! I had the enchilada trio but instead of the sour cream sauce I got mole. Best decision. The only complaints I really have that kept me from rating it a 5 star is the rice and the margaritas. They sucked. The rice was tasteless and the margaritas tasted like a cheap slushy from the gas station. I got micheladas instead. Sooooo good and the complimentary chips and dips were the perfect touch. Definitely would come back again

The chips and bean dip alone is worth 3 stars, it was hard for me to stop eating. The carne asada was very flavor and tender. I’m happy it wasn’t too bland. I went on a Friday night and evnlen though their were busy I got excellent service. Everyone was really friendly and working hard. I would definitely recommend trying this place!

Came here for lunch on a Friday with a couple of coworkers. It was pretty slow for the lunch hour. Environment: Casual and everything looked pretty clean. They have a buffet set up right when you walk in. They have some booths in the back as well. It’s a good size restaurant so I’m sure they can handle big crowds. Food: Started off with complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty bland but the bean dip was good. I got the carne asada burrito. There were too many big chunks of onion in there, so the taste was very overwhelming. The beef was fine, wasn’t extra special, but it wasn’t bad. The rice can use some work, I’ve had better for sure. $ 8.99 for the burrito, I feel like I can get something better elsewhere. Service: Staff was friendly. They took our order, got our food, and check fairly quickly. Overall, I’ve had better options for better prices in the area so I don’t think I will return.

I never crave Mexican food, but sometimes when I do, I make sure I get the best I can. We came here on a Saturday night and the place looked pretty empty. However, the food was so delicious that it didn’t even matter. This place is such a hidden gem! I ordered Combo #2, with chile relleno and chicken enchilada. They serve it with refried beans and rice. It was so cheesy and delicious! The chile verde plate was also delicious but not as good as in Soledad when I used to live there. We also got the enchilada blanco, but I wasn’t such a big fan. Something was off with the sauce. One minor thing: the sweet corn cake on the side sort of bothered me. It seemed like it was out of place and I’d prefer it if they serve it on a separate plate because it was touching my enchilada so my enchilada had some sweetness… But overall, this place is yummy!

Place was empty, but my tummy was hungry and desperate for food other then Jack In the Box which is right next door. Nice little spot for a quick lunch. I ordered the wet shredded burrito. It was pretty good. The atmosphere in here is quite nice. The service was nice too. Parking can be a little tight since you’re at two major intersections and there are a lot of crazy drivers that might clobber you as you’re turning into the driveway.

There is too much good Mexican food in this neighborhood to waste time and money here. We went for the Sunday brunch and left disappointed and hungry. The meats were bland, the selections for sides very limited and service not good enough to justify the price.

These is a nice restaurant my wife and I came to have good Mexican food. When we came in the restaurant they were no hostess and we waited and someone came. First I thought the restaurant was empty but I guess wrong. We got to our table and the server brought the menu and another brought chips and salas. The chip were ok and the salas need little more salt it would be better. I order the chili verde with pork and wife order a combination plate with chili renello, cheese enchilada and a taco. The chili verde was really good but little bit spicy and rice beans very delicious and little corner cake good I enjoy my meal. My wife enjoy her meal but chili renello was little spicy but overall she enjoy her meal also. Overall the prices are deal and service also good. We would go back again.

Love the Molcajete here it is so good. You get steak, chorizo, cheese, chicken, and cactus. It’s great to share with one other person. I loved their fresh tortilla soup as well. Chips come with fresh salsa and this bean salsa which is spicy but so good. I’ve been to this place twice already and love it.

I don’t go to Mexican restaurants often, but I like this place.(I give this place a 3.8 rounded up) We came in a party of 7 and they set up a table right away. The restaurant was not filled, but the had a few large parties. After sewing us, they brought us some chips and two different sauces — bean dip and salsa. The bean dip is served slightly warm and spicy, but it’s pretty good. The salsa was whatever, nothing out of the ordinary. It took them awhile to take our order, but we tolerated it since we weren’t completely starving and they were not being rude about it. I ordered the carnitas zacatecas. It’s supposed to come with rice and beans, guacamole, corn cake, tomatillo sauce, and pico de gallo. I asked for no pico de gallo and to get a double portion of rice instead of beans, but they gave me beans anyways. The rice was salty, but I liked it. The corn cake tasted like mushy cornbread. Didn’t care for the guac since I don’t like guac. THECARNITASAREAMAZINGTHOUGH. It is so tender and juicy. I love the flavor and the tomatillo sauce they put on it. They gave me a lot of fatty pieces though, but I mean that makes it flavorful and juicy. My aunt got the carne asada plate. It was the same setup but carne asada. The flavor was good but the meat was so tough. She liked my dish more. My mom got the taco plate. She said the chicken was dry. Each meal was not that large, but it was filling. I can’t remember what else we ordered. When we got out bill, it was pretty expensive. Each meal was at least $ 10 and drinks were about $ 2.50. I would come back, but I don’t know about the rest of my family, maybe if they lowered prices.
