A To Z Airflow Inc.

Never doing business with this company ever. Made an an appt on Wed, didnt show up and didn’t bother to call. Called Darren to see what happened and he said he won’t make it but will come by the next day around 11, and assured me he’ll come for sure. Never came and never called AGAIN.

To begin, this review is based on the pricing policy Darren uses. He charges $ 125 just to show up. If he does any work it will cost you a minimum of $ 325, no matter how minor the issue.
In my case, the two year old condenser fan stop working. A simple google search tells me it’s probably one of two items, a fan motor which retails for under $ 100 or a capacitor which retails for under $ 50. Darren quickly and properly diagnosed the issue as a faulty capacitor, the cheaper of the two parts. So far so good.
Darren claimed the part was more expensive than it was. I found the exact make and model on-​line for cheaper than he quoted. He insist on charging a flat rate of $ 325 even in the case of a minor issue. I tried in vain to get he to explain why he thought $ 325 was a fair price given the part was only $ 25 and he worked for only 45 minutes. He refused to breakdown the parts and labor like an auto mechanic usually does. He originally claimed that the $ 125 goes towards the work, but in our case the numbers just don’t add up. According to Darren $ 125 + $ 25 = $ 325.
This review is not meant to be negative towards his knowledge of air conditioning and heating, but rather a shady pricing policy he has. In short, if you call A to Z, and have work completed, it will cost a minimum of $ 325 or more. Be prepared to pay higher prices.

Called early in the morning and Darren answered and I told him what my problem was. HVAC Blower in furnace stops working after 5 minutes or so. He actually was on his way out when I called but fortunately I live in the same city as he did and he was able to accommodate me first thing.
A to Z was very prompt, professional and knowledgeable. With the symptoms I described, He was able to quickly diagnose and fix my problem very quickly. I was up and running in no time. He also gave me tips on how to maintain my HVAC Furnace to avoid future problems. Darren provides excellent customer service.
I would definitely hire him again.

I was having issues with my AC today and Thank goodness for Unilocal I found this company close to home. the service supervisor came to my house the same day and inspected my AC and fixed the problem. Darren provided us with great customer service.

A 96º day is not a good day to have your AC blow burning fumes into your house instead of cold air. So I looked up the top hit on Unilocal in my area and they recommended a service that wouldn’t even give me a straight answer about how much the repair could be or what the range of prices could be… even after I told them that I need a motor replaced. (Thanks Unilocal.) So I Googled instead and found A-​Z Airflow.
Darren was very professional — up front price estimate, called in to check in when he couldn’t arrive at the agreed time (I took the day off so I was flexible), and allowed me to watch him work while he walked me through exactly what he was doing, what needed to be repaired, what his recommendations were, and how much it would cost. Unlike most repair contractors, he LOVED talking and explaining about what he was doing, which vibes well with my engineering ass. He said up front that his services will cost slightly more, but that I would be paying for the professionalism and the peace of mind that he would not have to return for the same problem… this is the kind of honesty that I would pay extra for.
Darren and A-​Z Airflow serve the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding regions, and he says that they are expanding into the north OC. Highly recommended.

Called and went straight to a voicemail. It’s been a week and still no call back. Guess they don’t need my business.

The guy was late. And he did NOT honor the coupon on Unilocal for $ 150 for $ 100. His reasoning was because I did not tell him I was using a coupon before the service. Strange reasoning because no where does it say that I need to inform him that I am using a coupon to pay. I could understand that some coupons do not work on certain days or certain services, but his reasoning was because I didn’t tell him I was using the coupon. I was telling him right then that I am going to use the coupon. Why have a coupon if you do not allow patrons to use it, seems like a shady marketing scheme? That’s ridiculous.
There were a few reasons why I selected this company. One was because it has great reviews on Unilocal.Another was because of this coupon.
Granted, he fixed what was wrong, but he charged so much for such a simple fix that it almost borders on taking advantage of people. It’s hard to find an honest repairman, and I thought that reading reviews on here might steer me in the right direction, but nope.
The problem was with a wall furnace that needed the pilot light ignited. He charged me $ 150 to light the furnace light AND he did NOT honor the coupon. I understand he came out on a Saturday night to look at the problem. But he came out late because he lost my information, address, and phone number so he did not have a way to contact me to tell me he wasn’t going to show up. I had to call him and he was happy that I called him back because otherwise he would have never showed up at all. Geez, talk about being irresponsible. He ruined my entire evening.

My furnace is nearly 30 years old. We recently listed our condo for sale and our agent
said we need to fix the heating system before we eventually close escrow or give the
buyer an allowance. Darren, the service tech, was sent to our home and checked the
heater. After he found the problem he recommended replacing the electric furnace due to the age of the system. Once I told him the home is up for sale, he offered a repair option that would solve the problem. He practically rebuilt our heater and serviced the Air conditioner too. He had to come back with the parts a couple of days later, but it was worth the wait. I’m very satisfied with the results.

This company repaired the air conditioner at my office during the summer, so I called them again for my much needed heater repair at my home. The furnace in our house was serviced by another company last winter, but when the cold weather started, our heating system was down again. The tech from A to Z found a partially blocked vent pipe and in less than 30 minutes, our heater was repaired. Great service!

I haven’t used my central air conditioning/​heating for a while. The weather has been extremely hot, I decided to turn it on but It didn’t work. I immediately tried to find any air conditioning/​heating companies that would come right away to fix it. I was able to A to Z Airflow, INC, on the
with a 5 star rating. When I called at 4:30pm the technician he was working in Montebello, he said he will be finishing soon and can get to my house by 5:30pm. The technician arrived promptly and explained to me with the problem and was able to repair quickly with a very reasonable price. The technician was professional, friendly, and most importantly he possesses an extensive experience and outstanding customer service. I highly recommend A to Z Airflow, Inc.

My family needed Air Conditioning service during the recent heat wave. My husband saw A to Z Airflow working at one of our neighbor’s home and asked the service tech to check our system if he had time. He did… and our system was running and cooling great in less than an hour. The repair was quick and affordable.
