Park minivan, open back hatch, sell corn on cob and atole. The warm masa drink was hot but my corn on the cob was cold… but I didn’t really care. It was raining and the vendor invited me in under the awning created by the raised hatch. I had seen activity around this minivan and was determined to try it out so after we’d been to the El Salvadorean, Indian-Pakistani, and African shops; I insisted on trying whatever this vendor was selling on this dark rainy night. They only spoke Spanish but I know the words for butter and cheese in Spanish. I avoided the ketchup and mustard. I enjoy most edibles on a stick… and corn is always sweet. And I guess it’s hard to keep corn hot on a blustery night such as that… wait, I’m not sure that this place will be there again… now, I want some corn… Also, I totally made up the name. I don’t think they have a name.
