History

Established in 1920.

Rust Construction was founded in 1920 with the purpose of subdividing and developing the Rust Family Farms located in Alexandria, Virginia. The development of the farm property eventually resulted in the creation of the present-​day Alexandria neighborhoods of Rosemont, Braddock Heights, Timber Branch, Mount Ida, and Beverly Hills. In 1957, Rust Construction formally incorporated to become The Rust Construction Company, Inc., and the company expanded to build residential and commercial projects throughout the Washington, DC region.

Business Owner

Tom has 49 years of experience in commercial and residential construction as a General Contractor, Construction Manager and Designer. Tom handles the overall management of Rust Construction and provides daily general supervision on all projects. Tom has also taught classes on energy efficient design and construction and built energy efficient buildings since the 1970s.
