BEWARE!
This company has a deal they run through LivingSocial for $ 69 that allows you to get your gutters cleaned. On the surface this sounds like a really good deal but the implementation of the deal isn’t quite as smooth as you would think.
So after I purchased the voucher, I called the company up to schedule my cleaning. They claimed to be book for the next month so they said they would come out at the end of the June. I wasn’t thrilled that I had to wait but I said okay. We actually scheduled an exact date (June 30^th) and window of time. They said they would call at the beginning of that day to let us know we are on the schedule. Sounds simply enough right?
Suddenly on June 16^th they had openings to come out. They called to tell me that they were on the way over my place and would be there within 30 minutes. Of course there was no warning, I was at work so there was no chance to actually be there to supervise the work. They finished the work and left a receipt, but no bag of debris, and a little surprise with my gutters (see picture).
It reminds me of the recent 7 on your Side story with HVAC companies who use these deals to funnel bigger repairs. There were quite a few red flags with this transaction. This is definitely not a company I would continue doing business with.

The phone representative was rude and hung up on me after asking to be removed from the customer call list.
Imagine what they do to you home if they treat you like this on the phone!

Metro Gutter seems to get a bad rap, but I have always been happy with their service. I used them for several years at my old townhouse for cleanings and repairs and was always happy with the work.
Most recently I used them to clean and inspect the gutters at my current house. They were $ 15 cheaper than the other gutter company I called, and the other company tried to convince me that I needed a plan that provided 4+ cleanings/​year without ever seeing my house or gutters — when I asked the Metro Gutter guys who did the work at my house, they said 2 cleanings/​year were sufficient. No upselling, work was performed on the scheduled day, at the price I was provided over the phone.

In October we paid $ 1750 to enlarge one downspout and install gutter guards. Today, January 26, 2016 3 months later I received a call asking to schedule a follow up gutter cleaning. When I said we just installed the guards I was told that the gutters still needed to be cleaned — just not as often. When I reminded them it’s only been three months and asked how often we would have to clean the gutters, they hung up on me. Now I realize what we were sold was a complete CON. BUYER BEWARE!

Beware of this place. This company advertises a low rate and various coupons but when they come out to the house the price triples or more. When I asked why the price increase they couldn’t give a clear reason. When I asked about the discount they had offered they said it was no longer available. There are many more companies in the local area that stick to the prices they quote and don’t need to bait and switch to get clients.

Horrible. These guys cleaned my gutters and nearly all of the downspouts fell off in the month after they cleaned the gutters. They refused to help because I didn’t call immediately after the appointment.

If I could give zero stars I would. I set an appointment with Jennifer in the office for an estimate (which THEY recommended) and took off from work and no one is coming. No apology at all and no offer to make it right. They don’t care. They act like they are doing you a favor to answer the phone. I cancelled my November service

This company is an absolute joke. My experience:
Original scheduled estimate — they missed the appointment. I called after the window passed and was told that they were too swamped and that I would have a 10% discount for the inconvenience if I used them.
Stupidly ignoring that red flag, I rescheduled the estimate and worked from home a second day to meet them. Guy came out and gave me a quote for a new downspout. No mention of discount, but when reminded he took it off the quote and I paid a $ 175 deposit.
Day came for work to be done: person doing the work calls me and says sorry, no way we can do a new downspout, don’t know what the estimator was thinking. As I already paid a deposit, he said I was owed money by Metro Gutter since they could not do the work they quoted me. Discount has now magically disappeared again from the receipt left behind.
Two days later, Metro Gutter charges me another $ 105 to my credit card (rather than the refund I am owed). After calling to sort it out, it’s blamed on people not giving accounting the full story and they do finally agree to give me back the money owed (after a brief time to go investigate) and the 10% discount (after another brief time to investigate).
Fiasco from start to finish. Avoid.

I purchased a groupon special for gutter cleaning services with Metro Gutter. There was no statement or fine print which mentioned that additional charges would be applied for a closed gutter system. I received a ridiculous quote to power wash my gutters. I would never use Metro Gutter. Elizabeth was extremely rude and unwilling to honor the quote that was provided via phone. This company is defintely not trust worthy.

Be careful when getting a quote. I had a Living Social that advertised $ 99 for Gutter cleaning for homes over 3000 square feet. When I called to make an appointment they said my home was 4200 square feet and it would cost $ 75 more. The square feet they quoted included the square feet of a finished basement and the outdoor deck. I complained that my house is actually under 3000 square feet if you remove the footage of my basement and my deck. Neither of those areas impacts their work on my gutters so why I am being penalized by having a finished basement? Ken, the owner, said that process is their policy and told me to contact Living Social if I didn’t agree with him. Since I thought he was taking advantage of consumers, I called Living Social and got a credit back. I am not commenting on their quality of work since I did not use them but I question any company that takes advantage of a situation which penalizes customers and works to their advantage.

The actual gutter cleaning work was fine. The contractors gave a call ahead, showed up, cleaned the gutters, bagged the leaves, and left.
The problem, and this is where the incompetence comes in, is that they did not have us move our cars back, but did blow out a large amount of dirt and debris out of the gutter onto the front of my car. Part of this debris impacted my windshield. There was no visible damage at the time of the service, but by the next morning, a large crack formed in my windshield.
I called them about the property damage they caused. Eventually, a field manager responded, saying the contractors took a picture of my car when they did the work, which showed no crack. How convenient. I’m sure if such a picture exists, it only serves as further proof they did cause the damage. Car covered in dirt and debris falling from a great height leads to cracked windshield. I had no choice but to get my windshield replaced (about $ 300).
I sent the field manager a picture of my cracked windshield. No reply. I called them again and they said the manager would get back to me. Never did. This is your typical incompetent, sleazy contracting service. They’ll clean your gutters alright, but they have only contempt for you as a customer. If they cause any damage to your property, you’re on your own.

They jerk around the schedule and then charge late fees. Rude telephone demeanor from office staff. I will never use them again.

Well my Groupon was shady. The first thing they did was add a 36% fee because one stretch of gutters on an addition has gutter guards. They refused to do the job without doing that portion (which didn’t need it because… it has gutter guards). I felt scammed, and would definitely not use them again.

We bought a deal on Living Social. $ 69 for a full gutter cleaning and check with clean up. I read the Unilocal reviews after purchasing the deal and was a little nervous. Fear not, they were great.
Called to schedule an appointment and they said they don’t schedule an exact time, but would be to our house sometime between now (Tuesday morning) and the end of the day Friday. They said they would call 30 minutes before they arrived, but they didn’t need us to be home to perform the work. When I told her it was the Living Social deal they asked if our house was less than 3000 square feet, then took our voucher number.
They came Wednesday at about 5PM, after calling about 20 minutes ahead. Thomas and Gonzalo came and immediately got their ladders onto our house and quickly got to work. Thomas was very friendly and made polite chit-​chat with our 2 year old while he dug the debris out of our gutters by hand, hanging 25 feet above the ground. First they clean it all by hand and put the mess in a plastic bag. They blew what was left with a leaf blower. Then blew out the down spouts, and the flushed with water. They blew all of the remaining mess off of the ground and everything was left cleaner than when they arrived. They worked independently at times and as a team at others. The whole thing was fast and really painless for me. They left an envelope on the door, packed up and left.
Job well done. WILL REPEAT if I can find a great price with them again.

Total scam. Purchased a Groupon for their gutter cleaning service. Called to schedule an appointment and was told they would come out in 2 weeks, call 30 minutes prior to their arrival, and would leave all debris bagged in front of the house upon completion. Two days later, I find an invoice stuffed into my front door. No call, no bags of debris, and I was home the entire day… no one cleaned my gutters. Beware of this company. In my experience they charge you for a service that you do not receive. Thankfully Groupon refunded my money and apologized.

Great job, done by hand. They were careful on my slate roof too. Amazing price and service.

Before buying the Angie’s List deal, I contacted them to ensure that they could do the gutters of my townhouse. Maria was extremely helpful, and even sent someone out to check for me. After confirming that they could, I bought the deal and in no time, they were out here cleaning them out. The best thing is that they even left a recommendation for replacing the gutter filter (no idea that even existed).
The other thing that was great was that they were able to clean the gutters without me having to be home, which was great. I asked if I needed to print the deal out, and she said they already had it in their systems. I’ve done deals with other companies, and they all asked for the coupons. It was great to not have to do that.
They left me a receipt and everything. Definitely will use them again.

I bought a Living Social coupon to get my gutters cleaned by Metro Gutter. The technicians, Emmanuel and Enzo, were very professional and made me feel confident that the cleaning would be done properly. Emmanuel called before they arrived to let me know they were close by. Upon their arrival, Emmanuel explained what they would be doing and which part of my home they would be cleaning as my home is larger than what the offer would cover. They worked quickly and efficiently together to get the job done, and even bagged up all of the debris they cleared from my gutters. I would definitely use Metro Gutter again!

I made an appointment and they never showed. I had taken some time off. No apologies when I called again. Very brusque. Made another appointment (since I had a voucher I had to use — another dealfind dud). They did a poor job (because when it rained the next week, we had flooding — we got another gutter cleaning service who showed us the amount of leaves still left over and charged less than the deal amount). They wanted an extra $ 25 because «they had to fit us in since they didn’t know they had us on their calendar» — Really !! You want me to pay for your lack of communication within your company.
Bottomline, it is my fault for not having done my research before getting the voucher.

Bought a Groupon for Metro Gutter and Home Services for chimney cleaning. The techs Kevin and Ronnie came out at their scheduled time and were both professional, courteous and friendly. They did a great job of cleaning both of my chimneys and were fast, clean and no-​nonsense. It was nice to not get the typical high pressure extra service up-​sell that usually comes with most Groupon purchases. I’ll definitely call them for other home repair or maintenance projects that may come up in the future in addition to regular chimney cleaning.
