Meridian At Eisenhower Station

I’m so sad that I have to give so few stars. Overall, this used to be a nice place to live. I love the concierge Courtney, all of the maintenance and cleaning crew have been great. That being said, we moved here because they said they were dog-​friendly. According to the Lease, we signed when we moved in (pictured) «Dogs must be walked along the perimeter of the community.» Not a problem, the definition of Perimeter is: a path that surrounds a two-​dimensional shape… like a sidewalk?!?
Today, I came home to an extremely disturbing posting on the entrance to the building (pictured). The posting, contrary to the lease agreement I signed, states «Dogs are not permitted to use the sidewalks surrounding the building.»
Not such a big deal, right?
Wrong! It is huge because they own the property next door and started the same new policy there. The sidewalk in the other direction is closed due to construction. There is a dog park about five blocks away, but my little guy can’t hold it that long, and I don’t always have the 30 minutes to make the round trip walk multiple times a day. There is also more construction and an empty field across the street. The field is isolated, not lighted, and just overall scary to visit at all hours. The construction site is not an option either. Would you want your dog around a construction site? Would the construction workers want you to wander through their site with your dog? Not to mention they are both private property. It’s not an appropriate or reasonable option.
So, where do I take my dog? I have a well behaved dog. I am a responsible dog, owner. I religiously pick up after my dog. I don’t want to be fined for violating a policy… but this wasn’t the policy I signed?! This new posting shows a complete lack of concern for the residents who live here and their pets.
I can’t give stars to an apartment complex that sells itself as «dog friendly» then changes their dog policy without offering ANY safe opinions.
In response –please publicly state were the green area is to take my dog?
FYI– The sign states that pets are to be walked off the property and specificly mentions that the surrounding sidewalks are not permitted. The manager yelled at my dog for WALKING on the public sidewalk, not defecating. All and all the opposite of pet friendly.

Way better places and better value in the area to live.

Next door neighbor smoked and we got the secondhand smoke thru the AC vents. Definitely NOT something we need with a 3 month old infant.

This is one of the best places I have lived. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Huge shout out to Michael, who works in the leasing office. Courtney, who I believe is lead concierge, is wonderful — she takes a genuine interest in your questions or concerns. The property manager is very kind and efficient, I really feel like the staff cares about their residents.
We have attended two resident events so far, and man they were fun! The events were put on by Lux Living/​Giving (?), and I really enjoyed them.
The amenities are great, my only gripe is I wish there was wifi in the gym! I love watching netflix on my IPad while working out. Gym is great for a quick workout, and they have a weight area too. The clubroom is very spacious, and I like to do work up there.
The maintenance staff is super responsive, very efficient, and they get the job done well.
I love the security of the building — four elevators, all with key fab control, along with the doors, and parking garage.
Parking garage is great, it is 4 levels, which makes parking a breeze. I am a terrible parker, so having a little extra room is a must, and I have yet to complain about parking here! Guest parking is a bit pricy (I believe $ 6), but it is for a full 24 hrs so I see the justification in that.
My only complaint, and this sounds so silly, is we are too close to the metro. I can hear the metro and amtrak at night, but the leasing agent did give us a heads up and asked us to stay in the apartment for a few minutes to hear it. We zoned it out after a few months of living here, but it was a bit brutal at first.
All in all, if we need to renew our lease, we will do so happily, great place to live, great appliances, great amenities, and most of all, great staff! We are happy!

I called unfortunately at a bad time and hung you unsatisfied! I TRULY was upset because a friend had referred this property, I went by and looked at it and liked it, so really wanted to inquire about renting here. I’m SO HAPPY to report management has bent over backwards to prove to me they want to make this community my home! It was just bad timing and a malfunctioning radio when I called the first time. Who hasn’t had a moment where ALL seemed to fail? Haven’t even gone in to view the apartments but I have seen the property on my own and I’m excited to be updating my review as it’s refreshing to see this kind of customer service! Thanks!

I lived here for 13 months. Overall it’s not a bad building to live in. The maintenance staff is very friendly and they complete request same day. The lobby attendants are nice as well and are great about taking packages of all sizes (including a 50 inch tv I ordered). I would say for the quality of the building is pristine! So pristine that the outer patio is closed most of the time. Another down side, no alcohol is allowed by the pool, and they do not have any grills for the pool or outdoor areas and do not allow you to bring your own. I found that people in the building were friendly enough to say hi but would be actual friends with anyone.
I will say the leasing staff keeps to their word. I was told when I moved in they had old treadmills (from a marathoner I did not think they were bad). They said they would be replaced and I honestly thought it was just a stunt to help me sign a lease, but sure enough after six months three brand new treadmills showed up.
I will warn you, be very careful about parking. I have had multiple friends and my parents be towed before. I dealt with Michael in the leasing office and I highly recommend him. As a testament to the building, he even lives there.

This is a very nice location and the common areas are clean and well kept. Most of the staff is very helpful and pleasant. The apartments are new and well maintained.
However, I have been here for about 7 months and there are a few things any prospective tenant should be aware of. There is major construction going on all around. The dirt and dust get all over the windows. The windows are cleaned once a year (according to the staff). So get used to staring out dirty windows for about 11 out of 12 months a year. Also, although the noise is bearable, there is construction going on 6 days a week from 6:30 –7:00 am until 4 PM. Another issue is water utility bills. They are sky high. About 300 to 400% higher than living in a «non commercial» apartment. Basically you are paying $ 12 for a gallon of gas (water) vs. $ 3 everywhere else! Gas bills rates are also very high compared to a «non commercial» apartment. The outside common area is nice but what they don’t tell you while giving you the tour is that they keep it closed for the entire winter. (because of bad weather and not wanting to get sued if someone slips). Really! As a resident that is paying a significant amount to use this common area it shouldn’t be closed for months on end when the sun is shining bright outside. Close it when there is bad weather but open it back up when it isn’t raining or snowing. Residents shouldn’t have to be told they can’t use a common area because someone might hurt themselves or there is bad weather when there isn’t. The property should have insurance or tell everyone up front what the deal is. It wouldn’t be so bad but with younger children there is absolutely nowhere for them to go outside during the winter. There is no park and no nearby playground to walk to. On the plus side the gym is very nice and well maintained although no children under 16 years of age are allowed in it.

I have lived here for 5 months and so far my only complaint is the fact that there is n o outside area to go to. There is a patio on level 4 but it closes at 9 at night. They literally lock the doors so you cant go out there. Also on Mondays the pool is closed, the pool oh boy, it is the dryest pool I have ever been to. So boring, no tables, no grill no flowers, and there is always a lifeguard there. Our summer was pretty boring as a result.
We also have a garage opener that only works 25 percent of the time. Usually I have to sit there in my car pressing the button until it opens about a minute later. Went and told the leasing office and they gave me another remote which doesnt work any better. Went back again for a second complaint and the young lady working at the office told me to drive to the gate and point the opener to the gate door, which was an epic fail. You would think that this luxury apartment would treat its tenants like adults instead of children. Other than that it hasnt been so bad, the summers are just not summery here!

My husband and I lived here for three years before moving back to my hometown of San Diego.
When we found out we would be moving from San Diego to the DC Metro area for my husband’s job, there were several things we were looking for in our new neighborhood: walking distance to the Metro; easy access to the highway; and walking distance to shops, restaurants and a grocery store. We found that all plus more at the Meridian at Eisenhower.
The building common areas were nicely done and clean. The gym had fairly good equipment although occasionally (and more towards the end of our three years there) a bike or treadmill would be out of order or taking out completely. The apartment we lived in was clean, had appliances in good condition (I believe we were only the second tenants to live in that particular apartment) and of good size. The concierge was a plus for us as they had dry-​cleaning pick drop off and pick up and would sign for packages. They also (back in the day) had discounted Metro cards but stopped doing that a year or so before we left.
The rent was somewhat pricey (expected with the proximity to the Metro) but we were able to get a somewhat discounted apartment adjacent to the Metro tracks. While that seems to be an unequal trade-​off, it wasn’t for us, especially since we seemed to not notice the Metro noise after a very short while.
The maintenance staff was helpful in those few instances we had trouble — with one exception — which leads to my four-​star rating. Our AC conked out in summer and we had one of the building maintenance guys respond rather quickly to fix it. Only problem is it conked out again. The following day. The same maintenance guy came back to «fix» it later that evening and he was able to «fix» it so that it worked through the night. But lo and behold, it conked out once again. The following day. Frustrated, my husband went down to the office to try and get either someone from the manufacturer (or someone that specializes in HVAC) to fix it. Surprisingly, the manager argued that our AC was fixed as their guy had fixed it. Umm no, it wasn’t fixed. After some «discussion» they finally agreed to schedule an outside HVAC person to come in, check out the issue and fix it – and fix it he did. Too bad we couldn’t have the HVAC guy come in sooner.
Other than that, we didn’t have any issues with the apartment. Would recommend this place as it’s a short walk to King Street, Whole Foods on Duke and across the street from the Eisenhower Metro.

I had a last minute business trip and found that most of the hotels in the area were either booked or extremely over priced. The Meredian at Eisenhower Station is actually an apartment building. BridgeStreet, a corporate housing company, apparently has leased units in the building will rent out extra inventory by the night on Priceline. Since it is an apartment building do not expect hotel amenities such as onsite dining, room service, daily maid service etc. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance though. The room was nicely furnished with an updated kitchen and bathroom. It came with flat screen TVs and the room had its own dedicated Wi-​Fi router. The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful.
HOWEVER — the room was directly over the DC Metro Line. Since this is the last stop on the line so trains kept coming by throughout the night. Even with double pane windows, the noise was so loud that it made it impossible to sleep, even with a sleeping aid. They assign your room before you arrive and there was no way to request a room in a specific location. Since the room is managed by an off site company, the front desk is not able to switch your room if you end up over the Metro line. So despite all the positives I cannot recommend this place.

Because of recent experiences with the Meridian at Eisenhower, I’ve changed my rating from 4 to 2 stars. My husband and I have been updating our apartment, buying new furniture and selling old stuff on craig’s list. The building has a policy that, whenever moving furniture, you must use the freight elevator. However, there are 25 floors in the building… a TON of residents… and only one freight elevator. AND a single resident can block off the freight elevator for blocks of 6 hours at a time. The past two times that we’ve had people coming to buy furniture that we’ve listed on craig’s list, the freight elevator has been reserved for the whole day. The Meridian folks basically tell you «tough luck.» However, they forbid you use the other 3 regular elevators. So, basically, if someone has reserved the freight elevator for the day, you’re out of luck… you are not allowed to move your furniture.
This afternoon, we had someone coming to pick up a headboard. We called last night to reserve the freight elevator and were told that it was booked for the rest of the WEEKEND. This morning, we made an earnest effort to hunt down the resident that had it reserved to see if we could borrow it for 10 minutes, and it just didn’t work out. The headboard was slim and fit easily in the regular elevator — no risk of dinging up the sides. Basically, we could have turned down an offer to make money (and clear out our small-​ish apartment) or «break the rules.» We chose to break the rules. And got yelled at like little children. The weekend concierge (who we have had issues with in the past… he’s the adult equivalent of a kindergarden tattle-​tale) literally chased my husband out the front door (as he was helping the Craig’s LIst buyer carry the headboard to her car) and yelled at him to give him his apartment number. When he got back upstairs, we already had a nasty message on our machine letting us know that if we ever did that again, we’d be fined.
I understand that in an apartment complex this large you need rules and policies. But this is absurd. To have ONE freight elevator (that you apparently have to book weeks in advance) for a 25-​floor apartment bldg is just absurd. Given my recent experiences with management, I definitely have to downgrade the Meridian.
